      B Parker in my case just feel that I am not a good role model to my children..
      We make good money but seems like there is always something coming up..
      We hardly ever went out and when we did always felt guilty about spending money..
      Have never been on a cruise or oversees trip but you would think we did with all the debt we accumulated over the years.

      I agree! Rich people and Business owners file all the time. Lol. Jyst ask Trump. People who feel "bad," about using the system the way smart rich people do, are the people rich people get rich off of lol

      @@natashaalicia2.0totally. I was feeling really hard on myself and I watched Trump talking about his bankruptcy with zero shame and I definitely question if he’s a narcissist, but regardless it made me rethink feeling terrible about it. The credit card companies and the banks, imo, are some of the absolute worst contributors to our society and they take advantage of us all the time. I think they depend on us to feel too ashamed to be as irresponsible as this.

    You hit this dead on brother, never think that you're "rambling on"lol. I had the same experience with at my creditor meeting. Since my discharge Jan.2019 my FICO scores were in the 400's. Capital One gave me another chance with their secured card and just gave me an Auto loan for 13k last week! I also have Self Lender with four months timely payments to date. I also have My Jewelers and Hutton Chase with three months in timely payments. I'm here to say my FICO scores are 600,604,599 in three months. Kenny you are a blessing, keep sharing your real life experiences because you are not alone. Thanks

    I’m filing in the next few weeks. Getting the last of the $$ for the fees together now and I’m in contact with an attorney. Thankfully I’m not behind on anything but it’s only because I’m using credit cards to pay everything I can and that only made matters worse. I got in this situation when my wife was diagnosed with cancer only a month after she gave birth to our twin girls. Then I lost my job and I’m now making half what I was making.
    Since learning about the process I wish I had done it sooner. I’ve been stressing and struggling with finances for so long and it doesn’t have to be this way. This is why we have bankruptcy laws. Life happens and people need to start over.

    In some cases or circumstances bankruptcy might be a person,s way out of a situation . Just because a person files doesn’t mean they are bad ect. It could be maybe due to a job loss or hrs cut or a pay cut or health issues or taking of a sick family member . Or maybe due to being furloughed . Some are quick to judge a person that had to file bankruptcy . You have to do what’s best for you in your own situation . You’ve came a long ways ! There’s life after bankrupcy . You can always bounce back .Me I’m getting ready to file Myself . So what if it stays on your credit report for 10 yrs. you can always move forward . Afterwords . It’s not the end . In life sometimes you have to close a bad chapter of your life & start fresh !

      Benita Nirhoe that question should be for your attorney. I’m not ignoring you but my advice is seek out an attorney and go over the process with your attorney. There are so many different scenarios where it could be a yes or no that it’s best to seek out legal representation.

    I have never filed for bankruptcy, but I can see why some people have to if they have medical bills. I had two MRI's done of my back this year the bill for one was $2700.00 and the other was $3754.00. Now I have medicare and medicare supplement insurance. They paid a total of $560.00 to the hospital as payment in full. Now in 2016 I had a MRI done at another hospital of my back and the bill was $4700. I did not use this hospital again this year. My health insurance United Health care paid $2800.00 on the bill and I had to pay $705.00 my part of the bill, and the bill was marked down by $1195.00 because I had insurance. So in 2016 I paid more out of my pocket for one MRI than medicare and my supplement insurance paid for two MRI's in 2020 using a newer more powerfull MRI machine. So tell me that the hospitals are not over charging for their services because they can. Every year our politicians get up and make speaches on reducing health care cost. Every year they take money from these same health care providers for their election war chest. Every year nothing gets done but dog and pony show hearings, yes, our soon to be gone President has had no problem declaring bankruptcy and sticking everyone else with the loss.

Low income and only 1 possession is my new used car, Think I will put into my mothers name so I don't lose it. Should I file a chapter?. I also wanted to get into trucking but was told by swift that it will be a 5 year long wait to clear my record and restart. Hi there I just filed bankruptcy, I have a meeting with creditors a month from now.. I am very nervous. Do I find out that same day if my debts are discharged?

    • @CreditLiving
      @CreditLiving  5 років тому +8

      S. Moore Your meeting of creditors is where your creditors show up to make claim or arguments to debts owed to them. During my meeting which takes all of 3 minutes not one creditor showed up and like I said I owed roughly $200,000. I’m not saying they won’t but highly likely they won’t show up. Roughly 90 days after your meeting of creditors you will receive a letter stating everything was discharged if you are filing a chapter 7. You should be fine. If you ever want to email me questions kenny@creditliving.com. Relax and take your classes

      Like If I’m 85000 dollars in medical debt and I’m getting harassed by creditors is it wise to include that in the matrix of list of creditors along with loans Carr payments etc

    • @CreditLiving
      @CreditLiving  5 років тому +1

      Consult your attorney first but absolutely if you are filing chapter 7 absolutely include medical. The only thing that probably won’t go away is student loan debt. Even saying that in special circumstances that can be included as well.

    Not counting my student loans I probably owe less than $10,000 in debt and most of those are unsecured debt including payday loans. If I filed chapter 13 and pay $100 a month for three years that's $3600. My two payday loans combined are around $220/month that equals to $7,920 over the same three year period. So filing a chapter 13 would be advantageous in my situation but because I don't have a mortgage or a car note or owe any priority debts a chapter 7 with out an attorney maybe an even better option. I'm just afraid of the legal process because that's not my strong suit.

      Daniel Schwartz first research and get yourself familiar with the chapter 13 & 7 so you are more comfortable what you are getting yourself into. Second you said something that is a bit alarming there are attorneys that you can get a free consultation so why would you do it without an attorney? I do believe you can do it on your own however if you are not comfortable with a 7 they why do it without an attorney?
