There was a missed opportunity for the rest of the band to play underneath Florence while she reads off what’s in her bag 😂
I hope they got the recording of her from Amoeba and a song called "Amoeba" will be featured on their next album 😀
I could listen to her voice all day, saying or reading anything.
Love this band..Florence is such a fascinating character..
she's magnetic
It goes to quick to recognize all recordings
She really is a charmer. Love how the band had to try 5 times to get her to join. Her personality is a big part of the bands identity and they knew it.
yes! and Nick is so sweet and Louis gives off such strong badass vibes and Tom is hot asf
Don't know the band, but I always love watching these "What's in My Bag?" videos because I love when people share their favorite music/bands/influences!
Amazing band. Check them out!
Florence's voice is heavenly
this band has such a great taste in music, very interesting stuff they picked up.
Lovely picks guys. Especially the Cult recordings & the 300 Turkeys one... Weird and quirky it's always a win in my book. Had fun watching this episode.
I kind of want to hear Florence use those lines in a song now
Sounds of American Doomsday Cults is a phenomenal collection. Was introduced to it by the legendary staff at Aquarius Records in San Francisco way back in the day. Anyone seeking a cultural/ anthropological document of true-blue American paranoia and mistrust should not miss it. Right up there with The Conet Project as a true oddity of passion.
"...Cyndi Looper... Scooby Dooby Doo..." 😂 That lengthy, breathless invocation chant is wild too...
These are my favorite type of picks! Eclectic, seemingly random but it all kinda makes sense! Shocked to see Flo mentioning Croatia, was so happy to see them on InMusic. Also love the fact the guitar player knows 20BuckSpin!
🦃🦃🦃🦃I'm crying with laughter at the "Playing music with animals" and the 300 Turkeys. Such fascinating moment... I love these guys so so much. 😍
I love this band! 💗💗💗
The American Doomsday Cults album was sampled in a Negativland song, that specific track actually! I thought that was original vocals and not a sample for years, what a find!
I recognized the voice immediately!! “Cyndi Looper”
Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly" is one of my favorite albums. Good purchase there.
This is as weird as I expected it to be. I'm glad
you can tell these folks actually dig for interesting music. nice one
“Weird techno guy called Vatican Shadow” 😂
dry cleaning 🧼 best band ever i love these crazy kooky characters and their crazy kooky music so much
Not surprised at all they picked from the used section. Absolute vibe of a band.
Great choices..another reason to love this band.
6:13 expecting these to be lyrics on a new Dry Cleaning song
Thank you, just forever!
Lovely people, great band, love Flo she's enchanting
I love that she bought a Barry Manilow album.
Liasons Dangereuses YESSSSS - Great pick
LOVE Dry Cleaning!!! What a pleasant surprise to see them here!
Barry Manilow is SO underrated. Watching from London UK.
i have a huge crush for the guitarrist, great band btw
Mylo sampled that American Doomsday Cults track on his track Destroy Rock & Roll
Bill Evans. That’s an album I’m going to check out. Love that pick. Love the band’s video intro tune. Charlie Brown Christmas album is the pinnacle of the genre.
Great to see Dry Cleaning on here!
I love this band. Sound very London.
i love these guys
Still stoked on seeing Dry Cleaning in Tucson last January! Brilliant band.
Never laughed out loud so much at a bands lyrics as I have with dry cleaning. Love them!!
Don’t touch my gaming mouse
That was a fun watch, thanks!
That Barry Manilow track IS really amazing, KFC, State Farm Insurance, Band-Aids, Dr Pepper and Pepsi Generation, etc! go listen now!
Oh, hello Florence Shaw. 😊 The Doomsday Cult record is a personal favorite.
Anyone who likes 20 Buck Spin has instant credibility with me. These guys have an eclectic mix for their own mellow-ish music.
The Nightfly is a brilliant album. I was nine years old, and my first oldest brother who was about 27 or 28 at that time brought that home. I remember vividly, it was right after it came out. That album cover influenced me and I still have that original pressing. Brought up around a lot, and I mean a lot of music. They shouldn't laugh. Steely Dan is freaking brilliant. Jazz Infused Beatnick bliss. LOVE all Steely Dan's albums. Deacon Blues, oh man, since the day my brother brought Aja home, Deacon Blues resonated with me. Yes, when I was four years old that song would get played through the Rotel system in the living room, and still to this day it is one of my favourite songs. Dry Cleaning, I got introduced to your music about ten months ago. Dig it a lot!. 🍻
I love this band so much..They’re one favorite bands that put album this year..Florence has this amazing vocals and lyrics and band has this dynamic and heaviest that make it all feels right
I love this band..they are blow mind..Florence has this deep lyrics and bands is heavy and intense
the Nightfly is one of my favourite albums. I’ve never thought if it as cheesy, just an incredibly crafted, addictive album.
I saw them at the interpol opening in Mexico and i felt in love, very beautiful band ❣️
I also met them at that concert 🥰🤙🏼
They opened for Interpol?
@@koreypaul6698 yes in Mexico City
the best part of these imo is that they usually name deep cuts of artists. hard to find good, explained context to an artist's deep cuts. especially from 40+ years ago. also dry cleaning rocks
It'll be okay, I just need to be weird and hide for a bit, and listen to an old record from my BAG
The Doomsday Cult track was sampled by MYLO in the title track for DESTROY ROCK AND ROLL [2004]
I was singing for three months
“Garyyyy, have you seen Gaaaaryyy.”
just stopped, then I saw this video and intro song, aaaaand I am back 😅
Dry Cleaning RULES
Most of my picks were in Nick's bag , biggest exception being that Vince Guaraldi Trio that Lewis picked. Great episode.
What a great episode. That Bill Evans LP is one of my favorites, and OM is superb.
Props for the Donald Fagen. I love that album too.
Fun video, love the band and their picks. Not sure who needs to hear this at Amoeba - you need a wider lens mate. You're trying to do camera A too close with that lens, I can tell you're struggling to get the talent and their item both in shot, therefore much of the time you cut off both. You're also too close for the minimum focal length for that lens, often the talent are out of focus. If you're dealing with tight little spaces in a record store I recommend getting something like a 16-35mm zoom lens for that camera A shot, give yourself room to move. Then you can stay tigher on that side shot (camera B). Also the wobble on camera A looks to me like you're using a monopod which is making life hard for you. I could be wrong, but if so I'd recommend ditching it and practising hand-held more. Friendly advice, take it or leave it.
no wonder they are so cool
Hey Dry Cleaning! I love you❤
Dry Cleaning 💜💜💜
Amoeba San Francisco! Best record store on the planet!!! Love the random Dry Cleaning musical choices....
Mr cameraman pls take a step back :(
oh fuck yes! one of my favorite bands right now:)
much love to this lovely band!💖💖💖💖
Florence excited about the spoken word section really tracks haha
This is probably the most interesting and diverse (in a not self-conscious and calculating way) What's In My Bag? Love Dry Cleaning!
I always go Dry Cleaning when I have the choice between doing chores and listenig to this band
Liturgy. Hell yeah
her being excited about the spoken word section comes as no surprise haha
Love amoeba!
LOVE💜
great haul!
love dry cleaning - and their accents! haha
OK I'm down with the Nightfly dude
Omg Florence's picks are amazing 😂
Love to shop
Amadou and Mariam Heck YES! Dimanche a Bamako is a killer album.
I like the handheld camera shots Amoeba, but pls try and keep it steady, it got a little bit too dizzying at times ! 😓
why is the camera so shaky...
Their power seemed too much for him!
How can you not love Steely Dan? Shocking!! Their musicianship is unparalleled and Donald’d voice crossing so many boundaries is absolutely magnificent; can’t believe the rest of the band doesn’t even like “countdown to ecstasy”, hopefully they are about to catch up : )
Because they're awful? Buncha coked-up sessions hacks.
@@audiophoolz9413 I don’t want to see your record collection man 🙉
Sending love from Poland
Figures the guitarist would like Institute. Very similar style. 🎸
Very different tastes within the band
fuck i love music nerds 😍😍
"What's in my bag?...DRY CLEANING!"
6:47 Track 2 speed up x2
I love Kakashi too. Too bad Steely Dan is so controversial! Aja is one of the best records of all time
kakashi is the FUCKING BEST
laying in bed 30 minutes from the Montana cult area rn
Im guessing laundry?
Amazing band but wtf is the cameraman doing in this video, shocking...
I’d love to see Ben Howard or Jack Johnson on here
After the first pick I'm feeling I'm not going to like this one let's see if I'm right.
Edit 13 mins later
Yep I was right
and the ranga with the bob haircut is a freak, very strange cat
Half of this band seems like they chose inaccessible and strange records to be those indie hipsters who vaunt the depth of their dig over you
Someone's got to like these recordings, for them to be released - so why not the members of this band 🙂
Nah, use the the reactionary term hipster, you lose, chump.
funny to see comments like these in literally every video from this series for the past 12 years
Lol commenting shit like this just makes you seem insecure. Weird shit is fun to listen to
She indeed looks dry
Who?
I love you
you are like me
Have a look
I just gotta say it…. Dry Cleaning has to be the lamest band name ever.
I don’t think they care
Disco and then Barry Manilow? Nah, I had to make a quick escape after those first two picks. 👎
If she starts selling her dirty bath water.. please let me know.. id love a nice pint of it my mukkas
um going to see them jan 11
Does Florence Shaw have a boyfriend? If not I would be interested.
