    I am waiting for my quickie nitrum in white with black detailing, I am very excited 😃. I had my fitting a couple of weeks ago. They seem like very good chairs. Right now I have a kuschall k series g3 which I am also very happy with, but the nitrum is about 3 kg lighter than the kuschall so that will be very good. I hope your fitting goes well and that you will be happy with your new chair 😊

    Try to have a look at Panthera wheelchairs. Their engineering principles are very nice and they look objectively cool 😀
    A hint on color: Go for a dark grey or silver. That way, if you scratch the paint, it won't be as visible because the paint and the bare metal look similar...

    Hi Felina, I am new to your channel and I think you did a great job with your floor transfer. If your looking for any ideas to help I would recommend doggy stairs or steps as it was recommended to me by physical therapy as a way to get back up to my chair from the floor.
    As for me I have tilite and I am working on trying to get myself out of it, however, that seems to be harder than it should be. Good luck with your video’s!!

      I have a panthera x chair. Its awesome. One of the only downsides is not being able to use the smartdrive. Of course its possible but panthera says to not do it because of the carbon.

    As a mechanical engineer and always watching your videos I’m always thinking of how to make wheelchairs more user friendly.
    It’s interesting because you highlight your needs that can’t always be achieved, I never thought about having to get back in your chair from the floor 🤔
    I’m thinking there must be a mechanical solution.

    • @davidbrouwers7309
      @davidbrouwers7309 3 роки тому +1

      There are more options like special wheels that limit vibrations, give bounce when jumping up/down curbs, wheelchairs with inbuilt springs for shock absorbtion, manual chairs that you can raise the seat of so you can (somewhat) stand etc but we are limited by what our county is willing to cover which varies from county to county.

    • @StigandStem
      @StigandStem 3 роки тому +2

      @@davidbrouwers7309 Thanks for that, I just guess I can see a relatively simple mechanical solution to lowering the chair within the frame, if it could be lowered enough to to allow people access from the floor 🤔 I would have to explore on computer modelling, however that can not asses the practicality for an individuals size, ability and needs.

    • @davidbrouwers7309
      @davidbrouwers7309 3 роки тому +2

      @@StigandStem that would indeed be a problem as manual wheelchairs should be made to fit perfectly like a leg prosthetic would (can't describe it better).
      And even if you could make it and it's useable for a variety of wheelchair sizes there's the matter of cost. We usually get what's deemed sufficient by people that are fully healthy and don't want to spend too much money.
      Like the features that I mentioned earlier, they're practical, often times useful but deemed not necessary by the counties and the chairs cost more so only those who have the financial means to buy their own will get those most of the time.
      It would be awesome to have more people look into and come up with any tool that would make life for someone with a disability easier so I really appreciate your interest and desire to look in the matter.

    Ironic, about a week ago I posted asking about your WC. Hadn't heard of the Nitrum before, I'll check that one out too. Ultimately, I'm personally looking for something extremely ultralight in weight so it's easier to manage. I suppose of the major WC manufacturers since they're pretty all comparable it comes down to what's available as far as accessorizing the WC.
    WC to floor transfers are one thing but floor to WC are quite another. If your upper body strength is good then consider this. Ever thought of using an ottoman (lowest height available) in conjunction with use of your sofa? (Doesn't have to be an ottoman but anything really. "Adaptive" equipment in disguise that matches your decor.) You know, transfer up in steps/stages? Might not be as exhausting getting back up to WC level. Just some thoughts. Have a blessed day...

    • @FelinaTiger
      @FelinaTiger  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, Nitrum is a new one. I'm curious about it too.
      In stages would be a good solution to do a floor transfer. Indeed! Thanks for sharing!

    Hi,
    i also think your chair is not good for you, it is too big for your body. Especially the backrest, I think you can get a lower and lighter one.
    From what I know the best brands are: Tlite, Rgk, Progeo and Kuschall (the Ferrari of chairs).
    Keep us updated!

      TNS is also a good one and made here in the Netherlands.
      Mine is from TNS and is one of the lightest available while also one of the most robust.
      A chair is a good fit if it becomes an extension of yourself, an old saying is that "you don't get in a wheelchair, you put it on".
