Great oil cooler. I've had it installed on my Time Attack Type R for around a year now. To address a few comments: The increased engine noise is normal for many oil coolers. Its just a resonance from the hoses. And yes some other brand side mount oil coolers do not remove the brake duct, thats because they use a tiny oil cooler core...this large 19 row core necessitates removal. There is no noticeable brake fade after the cooling duct is removed. #teammishi
I completed an oil change right after, so that's out of the question. Anything it can be? I've watched the video numerous times and consulted a performance shop. Any chance the cooler might be restricted?
This removes one of the ducts but doesn't affect brake fade. We've track tested the vehicle with our coolers installed to make sure there were no negative affects.
@@mishimoto I have made my fake vents functional and so I'm wondering is it possible to install your system without removing the brake duct? Also might the system cool even better with the vents open since they would be getting significantly more air flow? Lastly, is it possible to configure a dual cooling set up by installing a second unit on the passenger side as well?

when doin an oil change do i need to disconnect any of the oil cooler cables or just the oem drain plug as normal? and drain oil filter?
I’m sure you could have done better, removing oem brake cooling isn’t something I’m happy doing to install oil cooler.

So I finally installed the oil cooler. Is suppose make a winning noise from the motor? Sounds like the oil pump is struggling
This noise is not normal, it is important that additional oil is added to the car to compensate for the added capacity.

How much more oil do you need to add?
The car will take an extra 0.65 qt with the added capacity from the cooler.
Mishimoto Automotive Type R take 5.7qt so around 6.3-6.4 qt in total?
