What a great quality video and wonderful speech by Ray afterwards. How good it is to hear someone make a coherent speech without saying "like or you know" every sentence. RIP Ray, sleep well.
Reardon was a superb player. He had an aura, an authority when at the table. He struck the ball so cleanly, his positional play and break building was top class. Also Ray was a great tactician and a lot of the players of the period learnt a lot from him in that regard. A terrific ambassador for the sport and helped to catapult himself and fellow pros like Higgins, Taylor, Spencer et al into superstar status. RIP to a legend of snooker. ❤
Ray was a naturally gifted talent and a great gentleman. A true idol for every newcomer player. He is one of the greatests of all time and will be forever.
Thank you for uploading this, It brought back so many memories from my childhood. Why do they not do this sort of tournament these days is beyond me,Williams, Jones & Day would be a tough team to beat
Ray showing the class act he was on a snooker table. My favorite player and one of the very best players of all time. Probably the first player in the game to adopt a double pause technique. Superb player and gentleman. Coached Ronnie O Sullivan in his later years and making a century at 91 has got to be a record. Sadly missed.

RIP Ray, you were a titan of the sport and a real gentleman.
How the great man could hold a crowd in the palm of his hand. RIP Mr Reardon.

Oh, how it should have been a third title the following year! The great Ray Reardon.
The 80s was the first Golden era of snooker!
