I saw Chavez with Tocotronic and Guided By Voices in Frankfurt, August 21, 1995. A gig that totally blew my mind. What utterly fantastic bands, and the atmosphere that night was just electric. They all played larger than life sets.
Can't remember which channel it was on, thanks to anyone who has recorded live Chavez! Their music is otherworldly, the harmonies and melodies are really original, and James Lo's playing is one of a kind . I can understand why people can't get into it, but it's their huge, huge, loss. Chavez really channels something out of this world.
