Actually the numbers are as follows: - 15% for killing an invader as the host, 5% for phantoms, - 4% for killing a host or phantom as an invader - 2% for killing a duelist (red sign) - 1% for an invader when another invader is defeated So that guy was higher level than 250
Note this video and commentary was recorded before patch 1.10 also people have pointed out invaders get 4% of runes necessary for an opponent's last level up, not 10%.
I like these longer invasions because 1) Saint is entertaining to listen to, and 2) Makes me feel better about having to be patient in my own invasions, knowing that it's not just because I'm lower skill than someone like Saint
idk at least those gankers have friends i guess. when i play ds3 i never summoned phantom, not because i want to pass it by myself but i got no friend. anyway good vid
Its kinda strange, when I tried to get my timbo into souls games I made a new lvl 1 character to start with him, but I guess I should have been max level to keep him entertained. (We got invaded 3 times in limgrave and he has never asked me to play again)
Did they still play on their own? Whether your little Timbo plays with you or not isn't important, it's only important that they're at least playing with themselves.
What are your thoughts on the mantis blade? I thought about slapping it on a build and was just wondering if you’ve tried it yet. It definitely seems like a weapon you’d be interested in due to the unique r2 where the weapon unfolds to twice the original length.
I always want the longer invasions personally, but you should be doing what is healthy for your channel and growth Saint, you're a funny person and you should be more well known.
Speaking of dups.. I literally quit elden ring maybe a month into the game when it first released because one of my groups friend had been duplicating everything and literally steamrolled our bosses in two hits with moonveil... the balance changes are the only reason I came back with a fresh character doing a mostly solo playthrough.
You’re right about soreseals, no matter the build, at low level I try to boost my total level to 91 at all costs. Level 72-91 are the most potent levels for increasing defence. I have a level 16 grafted greatsword build with starscourge heirloom, strength physick, radagon soreseal, and oath of vengeance to boost from 16 to 91. It turns you into an absolute tank against low-upgrade weapons.
Hey saint, what level weapons do you swing around on your lvl 40 version of this build? Do you think many newer players are picking up the +8 Halberd in south limgrave, and putting themselves in a higher bracket without realizing?
@@finnianramsey4634 Hey thanks for your input. I posted some pvp content @ RL10 w/ +0 weapons, and now I think I'll make another build for 'low level' pvp @ RL40 w/ +8.. thx again!
I always learn something when I watch your videos but today I learned that the tip of the clayman's harpoon glows faintly purple when you're an invader and it makes me want to invade for the first time in my whole stupid life.
I like the long invasions but if the format calls for quick and adrenaline fueled ones like moth flight it’s doing that as well. Just the mixture is right :)
Mentioning those bats brought me back to when a level 30 light-roll Twinksage with no Vigour caught me in there, but couldn't switch his spell spam fast enough to beat my Estus button LMAO Best part was, I'd already fought him between the Bellum Church and Ravine-veiled Village sites of grace (no resting), and he _still_ wasn't able to win. I caught him with a running R1 just as he used the severer, for even more salt!
Man i just got the craziest fuckin ad on here about some AI guy failing hes SAT's and his parents were gonna rip his head off, like 4 minutes of buggin dialogue
I've seen an icon on Bubba's as you call them when summoned as a hunter to their world. It indicates that their stats are reduced or at least damage output. If he is that level he should be able to one hit you but it takes him three due to the effect. That's just my theory.
I hear so much about soreseals not being worth it, and people make it sound like it drops off super quick. but in reality, every time I've tested it on my level 60-80 builds, I've found that attacks just don't do enough more damage to offset the health increase. I tested it now on my level 80 with 35 vigor: the zamor knight at the zamor ruins waypoint did 15% of my health with the soreseal off and the crimson amber medallion +1 on, while with the medallion AND soreseal on it did only 11%. This was done by baiting their ice "force" imitation and running away without getting hit again to check the exact damage. I also wasn't even using my typical armor set, so theoretically my usual absorbtion would have mitigated the damage increase even more. (for posterity, I was wearing the zamor set with fire monk leggings. I usually wear the banished knight set with the cape and altered helm (which really shouldn't be called altered tbh, since clearly the other one sawed off the ornamentation and put a hood on))
on PC you meet tons of these guys... low lvl host and at least one high lvl phantom ganking... All the people who are scared of PvP are using the seamless coop mod. So on PC invasions are almost always sweaty from both sides. And literally everyone has a full inventory of starlight shards and stuff... sometimes it's only a matter who's more shamelessly abusing their toolkit... I still like low / mid lvl invasions tho, even though they are super unfair sometimes
Man I can't believe Saint met *CUTE* co-opers, what a magical experience. Just a bunch of cute lil co-opers he got to play with, I hope Mrs. Saint got excited, watching her man carian pierce some lil cuties co-oping through the school campus.

I have to admit. I'm not proud of the start I got in FromSoft games, but I feel I've become a more respectable player these days, especially with Elden Ring's release.
@saintriot My name is Tim. I just grew up in a town full of rednecks, and got a very uncreative nickname. Between that and Timmy, I hear my name a lot when people talk about bad players, lol.
separate comment: the whole concept of limited healing or fp items in these games has always been disgustingly kneecapped by how easy duping is in every game. Also, they made rune arcs undroppable, so why not shards? bizzare choices. I hope the next game of this type they make, dropping shit is just totally gone.
6:15 taking a little sippy of the soul stream with carian retaliation was so cool! Never seen someone do that.
13:35 Soft-swap panicking is so good LOL with such a nice finish too!
The guy panic swapping the cannon was hilarious. The double parry was awesome. Another educational video from Saint, low.

Been playing around soul level 20 and wondering why I have gotten sent home right before beating a boss as a summon..... Makes sense now.
password summons were a mistake
