I found you through your collaborations with Neebs Gaming. You are a great strait man versus their.... absurdity. I hope you keep working with them. Also Conan Exiles bugs! Yeah It is one of the primary reasons I have NEVER bought into their battle pass. I bought the game. I am not going to pay for the bugs. If they don't even bother to fix the problems then they obviously don't need my money. Don't get me wrong. It is a fun and enjoyable game but if they don't put in the effort to fix the bugs, some of which have been around a ridiculously long time, then I am not going to pay more or reward them for it.
Play again. Have always enjoyed your CE playthroughs. One thing you've taught me about CE is to be vigilant about the 'jank'. It's always there, lurking, waiting for us to get comfortable and then it pounces! The jank is most certainly frustrating. I'm sure all who play CE have suffered from janky deaths. While harvesting stone, the server unexpectedly restarted and I spawned inside a rock. SMH, JANK, it's our constant companion and enemy! Really like the idea of this series. Give it another try!

@@wak4863 True for all "craft X" journey steps. On the plus side, instead of, say, crafting an iron bar, you can pick one up and that counts as well. - TBH - the new journey system might make for a better tutorial experience, but the old Journey system was fun and challenging to complete.
I am in this game from the early Beta version, more then 1 year before early access even so I went trough everything(No climbing era, no thralls, pets, no sandmask, no hardened steel, star metal, no sickle, no journeys, no DLC, completely different atribute tree, pure survival and hard as hell). This bugs suck, but I am sure that you Wak are aware of it as well, when I started my own personal chalenge I set it up that I will not harvest or gather anything I will just get all my stuff from chests and enemies, I can build everything I want but do not harvest single piece of material. So as zou know all these "old funcom sins" just dont put your avatar in such a risky situation when you can be stuck in the corner. For situation in serpermeru the best option is to run around and check chests until you will find flask to knockout enemies as these flasks do not trigger attacks from others so take out sorcerers with it. Also near wheel of pain in this city there is always chest with rope in it so...

The two bugs I run into most often are 1) My character's legs going all wonky when I get off a mount; 2) The classic game crash when I put a helmet on a thrall. I haven't gone through the mesh myself (at least in a long time), but I used to get stuck in rhino heads all the time. My thralls fall through the mesh somewhat frequently while parked. Getting trapped and stunlocked by human enemies is a real issue, even if there's no specific glitch involved. It becomes necessary to figure out new goals or rules for playthroughs after a while. Whether it's building in new places, not building, using a different weapon that you're not used to...it takes something to keep it fun.

Thanks WAK! What I'd honestly like to see is transparency on how this is fixed. It's a bug that people use to exploit others and it does what it just did to you.. beyond annoying. Tell us Funcom how this needs to be fixed .. what do you need Funcom? And is there somehow some way as a community that enjoy playing the game assist in fixing this
You don't have to backtrack to the Broken Highway to complete "Find survivors" journey step. Any NPC who doesn't aggro on you will do. So any of the religion teachers (such as the Dafari one just off Noob River) or the 'lore' NPCs (such as the one across from the Sentinels) work.
As a day 1 player of Conan I am pretty much burnt out on the game at this point. That being said, I was enjoying your challenge video and would like to see more like it. (maybe next time with a happier ending)
I vote go again, CE is one of my favorite games and your content is great, the bugs suck, the worst for me is when the game freezes while saving on single player and the game file gets corrupted although that hasnt happened to me for about 3 months. I would have checked the chest at westwall prison before going after the sorceror (got a Dalinsia at level 6 by getting truncheon and rawhide binding from there), but beware the nomad challenge should end if your follower dies.
The worst bug is that so many attack animations on so many weapons do no effect on anything, but second worst after that is probably getting stuck in things
Sometimes you have to make things fair with the Nomad Challenge. Like when you rubber band like crazy into the open mouth of an alligator, that death doesn't count. Having said that, it is more fun to start over.
I am also in the process of a personal challenge similar to yours with the same objective; which is to escape the exiled lands. I am doing it on a server that is devilishly difficult, xp is at 0.5, damage against npc is at 0.5 and damage received at 1.5 for both you and the thralls, there is no extra xp, I don't do permadeath because the game gives me reasons not to, meth kamoses is a talking head, there are zombies that I revive and a platform to recover and revive as well as this merchant who tells you in a somber voice ... strange things happen here and those who should be dead wander around ... so if others mock death, so do I. Only I don't use any spawn point other than my bed, I don't use sleeping bags, only the bed, regardless of where I die, and so far I've only died twice. The idea is that it's at most that, since it's not viable to go around dying every two minutes, and I always try to get to 60 without dying, and I usually achieve it.
My friends and I adore this game. I think I'm sitting at 3.5k hours... but we've coined the phrase "Just Conan doing Conan things" for situations like these. Like you just know it's not your fault, it's just the game doing something it isn't supposed to do.
As for bugs -- you pretty much say it. The worst is when I die because of a bug. Oh, and worse, when I die and lose my best thrall because of such bug. The sorcery to recall my body is a band-aid that lacks the sticky glue. The rest, I can groan and shrug off with a breath of resignation -- it's just not gonna change. - However, this is one of the reaons why I will not purchase Dune: Awakening.
Worst glitch I dealt with was the falling through foundations. I've been off the game for a bit so I don't know if they finally fixed that. I saw several people on the server I was on rage quit because of it though. I'd vote to give another shot at it. Remember when running past Sinner's Refuge that brimstone gives really good XP as well, even if you just do the entrance.
I been thinking about doing a nomad playthrough myself. Im thinking about waiting till the Age of Heros. Wondering if the Companions could be useful since you wont need the wheel of pain.
I'd love to see a remake of Conan Exiles utilizing the newest technology and the experience they've gained. It's still a great game. But compared to new survival games like Once Human, CE is showing its age. I can imagine a Conan Exiles II that would be awesome. If the developers would ever like to pick my brain, I'd be happy to talk to them pro bono.
As a nomad, you have to stop at the sorcery cave before Sepermeru, but otherwise nice first try. CE is the game of bugs and PvP cheaters, there has been no effort to change this over the years.
Just play again! I remembered a challenger I made to get to lvl 60 without die. Conan Exiles killed me wile I was offline (a little above lvl 50). I woke without clothes (it was a pve server)! 😅
I think the most Game Breaking issue is Funcom. I played a bit of this and i love your series with Neebs Gaming. I just can't play it anymore because it's just not interesting to me. I thought i would love it but after seeing how many hackers are in the game in MP, many of the poor management decisions as well as poor gameplay decisions that Funcom has made with this game, along with Cloud Saves for Steam not being implemented after all these years, it has just killed my interest in playing this buggy, broken, stagnant mess of a game.
Rip....C/E has gotten worse sadly...and all becomes of crap devs that never fixed a thing OR broke what worked by changing what we had, what worked & we liked.
I think if someone loses a challenge due to something out of their control (server crash, lag spike, bug, etc...) it shouldn't count as a loss. You still get penalized for losing the inventory if you decide to continue. But anyways! These aren't the worst bugs, but "ghost arrows" and being stuck underneath your horse are certainly at the top in terms of annoyance.

Hi i went for a build with all my perks at the same level, however i need tips on the perks to be better and do more dammage against bosses like dragons etc.. i can handle some 3 level bosses like crockodiles and lizzards, and the abyssal horror.
Its hard to choose which bug is the worst, but this one, getting stuck in the mesh is bad. Another really bad one is getting trapped by your own thralls and horse. For goodness sake just let us move through our own thralls. Its weird and a bad experience when your own thralls just push you around instead of moving around you, but pretty funny when you get pushed from one side of your room to the other by your own cat.
Have you tried the Beta for Age of Heroes? Or did they delay it? I wonder if there will be any major bugs with that update, besides the performance being tanked down by the crafters in bases, but that's already expected and for some reason Funcom think it's OK, so "That's not a bug, that's a feature..." :D
Could do a challenge playthrough where dying by glitch doesn't count... though that could get messy Idk You could stream it and ask the chat "does that count?" Or maybe just do a different kind of challenge that's not reliant on one life
To be fair, getting stuck in mesh like that is not as much Funcoms fault as it is fault of the game engine. You get stuck in both terrain and mob meshes for example in Ark and all of it's derivatives too.
At the begining I made a bet you would die on a dive animation. Happenes to me in worst moment when i just want to slide down. Getting stuck is another one. Another thing, pick up those those sorcerer satchels they can give you iron trunchen early to knock out sorcerers. I hate all animations and the waiting for weapon/tool switching.
It's a shame they haven't fixed so much stuff in Conan especially in a perma death game. This is just one more reason I probably won't purchase the overhyped game Dune. Same devs will probably have the same "unintended consequences " with the same broken promises.
This is an old issue that should have been addressed years ago, Its not OK to have a survival game where you loose everything if you die and there is serious bugs like this. I stopped playing the "official" just because of things like this there is simply no point when you are able to die from situations that you cant do anything about. If i die due to this on the server iam currently playing at its annoying but no biggie i just come back later to that dungeon or whatever.
dude that sux man. I haven't played in a while now, but I kept getting stuck when I logged in and the only way to fix it was to kill myself and loot my body, which sux on siptah. This was the bug that did it for me and I uninstalled because of it, haven't played since
Don't run any dungeon with a horse or any mount if you hate being stuck in a mesh of death !!!! Your mount has a annoying habit of standing on top of you just as you move into a corner (crouch roll does not work well in dungeons)!!!!
Wakked, lol. You do know that you can get Truncheons from the Sorcerer Packs now?. As to the bug, its a Funcom Feature, like in Age of Conan even after over 10 years since it was introduced, you are still invisible when on a mount and transition to a new area. As to that bug, its not really game breaking, in a normal game at least, you just come back kill the mob and get your gear, but yeah in a Hardcore Nomad Challenge its pretty annoying
One time i tried to place a carpenters bench, then it started to spin around like a helicopter and it killed my character and a named thrall. P.S. i had auto align on

Did you do this on single player, official, or private server? - [Update] Nevermind. I made a char on official, got to lvl 11 and died due to animation freeze-non-responsiveness while stuck in a corner. I'll try one more time, but I can't compete with godlike devs.
Right now, I think CE is nothing more than the alpha test for Dune. I don't think Funcom really gives a shit about the game or giving customers what they want. I don't remember anyone asking for thralls that you can dress up and watch them walk around your base. But I bet you'll see it day one of Dune, and it will be completely bug free because they're using CE customers as practice for Dune customers.
There is a ton of RP players that would disagree with you… I do agree that they are using this to test things. It is the same for GTA 5 etc… not really a bad thing.
Seems to me that game glitches don't count for ending a permadeath game. Maybe some purists say "you died, game over" but me, I say you didn't die, the game world glitched. Doesn't count. I guess if the server setting is permadeath then the server would count you as dead, but if there is no server setting and you're enforcing it on honor, I'd still say this doesn't count. But that's me.
I recently started a new play through for a livestream I’m doing. And I’ve noticed a lot of lag freezing happening in the base game. It seems to keep killing me more than enemies.

The packages that the sorcerers drop randomly have truncheons and rawhide bindings, probably worth opening them

That's only the low tier truncheon. A steel one spawns in a chest on the wheel of pain in seperamu
The best truncheon will be droooed by the drunk in the tavern cellar. Or buy the extremely good one from the merchants

Lag when your at the cliff edge or similar high place, then dead at the bottom!

Going in that Sobek cave to get those armor that adds 40hp each isn't bad.

Yeah I'll start a new one, But wanted to share this one as well.
Play again. I think even as a nomad, you need to set up caches along the way. Cache of food, heals and repair mats will extend your survival.
Please try again that challenge :) and yes thoses bugs are freaking anoying ....

Try looting the chest at stargazers crest. You have to lose agro after but the loot is worth it early game.

I play on ps5...i experience all kinds of issues. Game crashes every hour, thing just disappear, textures dont load...
Game has alot of issues.
Don't run any dungeon with a horse or any mount if you hate being stuck in a mesh of death !!!!
Your mount has a annoying habit of standing on top of you just as you move into a corner (crouch roll does not work well in dungeons)!!!!

As to the bug, its a Funcom Feature, like in Age of Conan even after over 10 years since it was introduced, you are still invisible when on a mount and transition to a new area.
As to that bug, its not really game breaking, in a normal game at least, you just come back kill the mob and get your gear, but yeah in a Hardcore Nomad Challenge its pretty annoying
One time i tried to place a carpenters bench, then it started to spin around like a helicopter and it killed my character and a named thrall. P.S. i had auto align on

I say try again I was enjoying it. I'd say since you died from a game glitch it doesn't count as a death, so just reclaim the loot from your body, and keep going.
It's a death so I will start over.

I don't like the diapering bodies and I don't like my thralls getting stuck in the floor mesh.
You never even got around to learning the Bellydance emote at The Den.
I always see if those claws are at the side entrance of the den. Very helpful.

Did you do this on single player, official, or private server? - [Update] Nevermind. I made a char on official, got to lvl 11 and died due to animation freeze-non-responsiveness while stuck in a corner. I'll try one more time, but I can't compete with godlike devs.
Right now, I think CE is nothing more than the alpha test for Dune. I don't think Funcom really gives a shit about the game or giving customers what they want. I don't remember anyone asking for thralls that you can dress up and watch them walk around your base. But I bet you'll see it day one of Dune, and it will be completely bug free because they're using CE customers as practice for Dune customers.

I do agree that they are using this to test things. It is the same for GTA 5 etc… not really a bad thing.

Seems to me that game glitches don't count for ending a permadeath game.
Maybe some purists say "you died, game over" but me, I say you didn't die, the game world glitched. Doesn't count.
I guess if the server setting is permadeath then the server would count you as dead, but if there is no server setting and you're enforcing it on honor, I'd still say this doesn't count.
But that's me.
