Can this phone be used in a home setting by simply connecting to a fiber optic modem or does it need to route through a PBX exchange? Is the answering machine integrated into the phone or is it in a separate PBX system? I would like to buy a phone like this for my home for single-line application. If this phone is not capable of that does Avaya make any other phones that look similar for a home office application? I really like the look of the phone
For those that are trying to add an extension number (quick contact) to the phones home screen. You can do this on the phone itself (as well as the software on your computer). First you need to go into your contacts (picture of man button), then find the person within your contacts you want to have on your phones home screen (or make a new contact if they are not already in there) and turn them into a quick contact by pressing "Details" then "+Contact". They will now be a quick contact. Go back to the very start home screen and hold down the button where you want their name to go and press "Add" then "contact", then you will notice the person you just made a quick contact will now be an available option you can select. I hope this helps others as none of the instructions I found online or UA-cam told anyone this.
I just recently changed out a 9408 digital set to a J169 Set, the customer used the directory and next button which enables users to search within the PBX for end users. I noticed that the SIP phones within the programming do not offer these buttons anymore. I know that you can add contacts and search there but we are in a hybrid of digital and SIP phones. Any ideas or work arounds? Thnaks,
I have a J169 and when an outbound caller or internal ext tries to leave a voicemail to this extension, the voicemail greeting does not play and instead itll say "welcome to avaya ip office please enter ext and pound key" how can i fix this? I think its taking me to our DID for remote voicemail access instead of stating the users greeting.
Hi, I notice that when you hit the 'Transfer' button on a Call, it goes straight to Dialtone. Our SIP phones give us another popup that gives the option of using Contacts or Recents list for the transfer. I do NOT want that popup (I just want it to be dialtone like yours) do you know how to make it just give dialtone when Transfer is pressed (We run Avaya Communication Manager not IP office).
