I'm waiting for hornby to release the swallow livery again with coaches being from the Leicestershire area, and I model the 90s to 2000s. I need two of them 😂
@@learningoogauge3452There are some views in the clip (eg at 1:13) where the grey band at window level of the power car looks very similar to the main body grey/silver colour (and too light) … but other views (eg 4:24) show the window band colour to be darker and a good match to the window band of the Mark 3 carriage. So looks to be a visual trick of the camera 👍
@@nickg2762 thats months ago though, Hornby website doesn't have any to purchase currently. Would be silly to release a product without having carriages available to buy
I wish Mike would have a word with Hornby about a 21pin version class 43 set in NMT Network Rail yellow livery, a barrier coach would be great along with a mk3 coaches with the roof remoulded to fit a pantograph, cheers.

@@StormmyStormmy Yeah i have found that the only manufacturers that are making some of the better and new stuff lately are rapido, dapol and Acura scale. But all 3 of them are some of the more expensive brands.
Disappointing. If they were a matched set with the same livery I would have ordered a sound pair right now. I don't want a mix and match and either way, the coaches won't match one or the other.
As we stated in the video, this twin pack depicts these HST power cars as they were paired toward the end of their service lives, which is the same reason they are not matching liveries.
@hornbymag I understand that. It doesn't stop me being disappointed because you explained the rationale for your choice. Individually the paint schemes looked good which is why I went to your shop to double-check but together no.
@@modelrailwaynoobthats not the point of the models though, the models are aimed at the EXACT formation as they ran for their last few months in service, the point is not to have matched liveries but to form the rake that existed in the last year of operation, pointless complaining, i think they look really good and realistic

Beautiful! I believe both of these power cars are in Nigeria
anybody seen any updates on release dates?

why does the normal livery XC hst not match the colours of the coaches?
The XC power car looks very close livery wise to the coaches… the other one is in the livery/vinyls of how it was at the end of its service…
@andymacmac9151 I know about the retro one, I mean the XC one does not match at all!

Will Hornby release some Cross Country coaches as I believe they are no longer produced?
They were available for about £20 literally months ago?

Ptefer it if theyd done a,twin pack in exec livery
do you get the coaches with the power cars ?
No, this is just a twin pack of HST power units only. 😊
@@hornbymag so 400 qwid then another 2 3 hundred for coaches I can buy a real train for that

Why are they so much!
I am only 20 and i remember when a new loco would rarely be over £100 maybe £150 for a good highly detailed model.

Yeah once a fun cheap hobby has now fastly turning unaffordable every single time something new comes out.

Dude I remember when a full 4-car EMU was £130! AND I THOUGHT THAT WAS OVERPRICED! (I’m 16)
