  • Please read the description first. A very simple/basic way of making a square wave oscillator for 50 Hertz or 60 Hertz.
Duty cycle can be set via the 2 potentiometers of 470 K. The stability is given by the temperature (say home-temp = 20 degrees Celsius) and the stability of the supply voltage (exact 12 Volt, via a stabilizer, say a 7812 in the positive supply lead). And the quality of the components, especially the used capacitors. Ceramic capacitors are much more sensitive to heat/warmth. Their capacitance value easily changes when they get warm or hot.
Its stability could be good enough, but not for all electronic applications (...).
I think a 555 Chip can give (will give) a better frequency stability, anyway, it is a useful circuit, also usable for other frequencies, with other values of capacitors (try e.g. 100 N = 0,1 uF or 10 N=0,01 uF).
I used here NPN Silicon transistors (BJT) with type number BC 549 C. The circuit is so universal that it also can/will work with a BC 547 b, in fact any NPN transistor with a Hfe (Bèta/current amplification) of 150 or higher.
Test, try, experiment. It is always fun!
My You Tube channel trailer is here: • Radiofun232 on UA-cam...
Type there (in the looking glass = search option on UA-cam) the keywords that you like (e.g. radio/audio/amplifiers/test/filter/) in the “looking glass” = search function” and give “enter”. Via that you can find specific video’s (under the say 1500 published).
When you search, search always “NEWEST FIRST” to get the right overview.
You can also search via the “looking glass” on my Channel trailer via keywords like ”audio”, “radio”, “amplifier”, “filter”, “Shortwave”, “transistor”, “FET”, “oscillator”, “generator”, “switch”, “schmitt trigger” etc; so the electronic subject you are interested in.
My books about electronics & analog radio technology are available via the website of "LULU”, search for author “Ko Tilman” there. www.lulu.com/s....
I keep all my YT videos constant actual, so the original video’s with the most recent information are always on UA-cam. Search there, and avoid my circuits that are republished, re-arranged, re-edited on other websites, giving not probable re-wiring, etc. Some persons try to find gold via my circuits. I take distance from all these fake claims. Upload 22 June 2024.
