I saw someone mention this on a thread on Twitter. I’ve never heard of this before but it looks like I missed out. It’s such a shame this wasn’t popular.
Funny how I was just thinking about this game and you just posted this recently. I would love a continuation or re-make! I loved this game as a kid! Thanks for compiling all of this
You guys have no idea what this game meant to me. This was the representation I needed when I was a young girl. I was stunned by Kya for being the main character. This is my top 1 game ever
Omg same hereI still play it. I feel the same way about the representation and kya is such a gem im so glad this game was made, I wish we could see more
So i couldn’t find David but I tweeted Hervé Sliwa and asked if it would be remade or revamped in anyway. But I couldn’t have done any of that without the reminiscing over this video. So thank u

So supposedly there’s a secret ending - and all you need to do is save every native before defeating Brazul. I’m yet to see this so called “Secret” ending that was advertised by Gamespot
I do like this game, however I think it wasn't necessary Kya has a "half brother". Frank was a waste of time. The game could be centered on Kya and It'd be fantastic.
Very late reply comment, but i disagree. Frank is part of the motivation for Kya to do what she does in the game, as he is the closest family she has (alongside the mom, but she only gets mentioned once). He is the one who finds the hidden workplace of Brazul and the Earth medallion in the first place. I don't think Kya would have much interest in seeking out her father's history. As we can see in various cutscenes, if Brazul is there or not, she is quick to reject him for even *appearing*. Alongside that, he is the guinea pig for Brazul to create his newest weapon to be able to turn humans into Wolfun as well, and the one to relay this information once he has been saved. And after he has been saved, he shows his concern for Kya and wishes her good luck, and later on makes himself as useful as he can be by making a new altar to use the Flying World medallion on. In his own words, he can't use magic or fight, but he at least knows how to swing a hammer. On top of that, after the revelation that Kya's (dark) lineage is not fully human, he does not look negatively on her at all. Her closest family, alongside Atea, know who she is, knows what she has done and knows what she is capable of. Kya's descent on her father's side makes her no villain and both Frank and Atea reinforce each others' statements that the half-alien part is no bad thing-- and neither does it invalidate her achievements to that point. And yet, there's future potential for it too in a possible sequel. Like some new character or entity trying to tempt Kya that she is "above" her human side, or on the other hand, she is impure blood that does not deserve to exist in this state. And from there, Frank could serve as an emotional anchor for all that she goes through, while still trying to find ways to support and help her, even if it's not directly in the midst of combat. But that is all future stuff. All in all, i don't think Frank's part in this game is bad. But like many parts in Kya... it could be a lot more. As much as I love it, i sincerely believe that it has a lot of potential it hasn't yet lived up to for lore- and character-related areas. And i hope that it one day may get a second chance to be able to live up to said potential. My apologies for the long comment, -and late comment too- but if you took the time to read through it all, thank you for doing so. And i wish you a good rest of your day.
@@xandertheupriser8600 oh darn, a recent comment on a Kya video! Neat to see people still going Sadly i think Frank's boss fight is the worst for me. I wish his boss fight wasn't focused around the beat-em-up style of Kya's combat, but rather something else. His attacks are annoying and the random conjuration of electric cogwheels just wastes time. Or i wish that at least he was more human-sized. His size does not mesh well with the beat-em-up style combat, considering it was specifically designed for human size enemies. It seems like only facekicks are truly effective (Jump and kick, or pull left analog stick away from enemy and tap Triangle twice), but he can still use slams, swipes and grabs. If there is a method to hsi boss fight, i haven't found it yet. That said, it *is* interesting how he as a human ended up being SO BIG of a Wolfun! And how he got those telekinetic/electrokinetic powers! I wonder if humans are just built different compared to Nativs, or if Brazul arranged for this particular transformation to occur somehow. If it's alright to ask, what's the charm of Frank for you?
