Love that it's a 1-8 game too...it's like getting 8 Magic decks in one box...open it up and play with 7 friends...or 6 with a robot...I think I need to pick this one up.
Nikki's only real misstep was not making sure she had 3's to pair with her sorcerers. She only had the one dog that she ended up getting rid of.
Am I crazy or is the description of how the Vendor (@11:09) works a little backwards? Dave seems to indicate that balloon cards on the bench boost the strength of the vendor when she's fighting. But I read that card to mean that when the VENDOR was on the bench, she gave a +1 to all the balloon cards that were in the park fighting. Which way is right?

Hollywood Dave for the win! Love the movie set synergy. Great game. Figuring out what cards work well together is crucial, and you have a bunch of rounds to work it out. Nikki having those clairvoyant cards were great IF you have a bunch of 3-value cards...unfortunately she didn't have enough to make them worth it...but they were still worth 4 on their own...you gamble you'll get the cards you need...if you do, fantastic, if you don't...knowing when to dump the cards is key.
This is quite the game, I remember playing war with my siblings at my grandmothers house. She had a drawer full of decks of cards that were incomplete. No worries about damaging cards while we played and we could start with huge decks. We also played with as many as 6 players. Ties led to the tied doing an extra war to decide who won that hand. Many a rainy day on the floor playing war.
Can't wait to see the Game Night gang play the beach cup version coming out soon!

Brilliant video, and now I have yet another game to add to my wants list. At this rate I'm gonna need to build an extension to hold all the games I keep buying because of you guys. Maybe I should send you the bill when the work's complete..?
Joking aside, this was a terrific video, I really enjoyed learning about this game, which while challenging, doesn't seem to be so deep that you couldn't play it after a day at work.
Not skulduggery, bad card sortery. I had a C deck card that Nikki spotted but we didn't edit out well. Oh well. Thanks for the note and for watching -Lincoln
@@boardgamegeek So that, assumed that was the case, things happen. I assume the confusion was just not something washable. I don't mind the errors during gameplay, it happens to all of us.
I really like when you make a mistake and in post-prod add a message about it. Shows you care. Keep it up :)

what's with the glitch at 47:13? It looks like Lincoln plays a card with a 9 value then it magically turns into a rubber duck.
yeah it was purple, right?
I'm guessing that a C deck card got into the B deck because of the 9 value. No one should have had a C deck card at that point in the game. The editing does make it feel suspicious though!
@@computerfrog That is exactly what happened. It actually happened to me twice in the game. I said both times the card seemed powerful but I didn't look at the deck letter. We should have been able to edit around it 🙂-Lincoln
In the final Lincoln drew a Clairvoyant (4) to Dave's 3 cat and then he kept drawing instead of winning. He also didn't use that clairvoyant power when it went away (he could have put the 10 villain on top).
I think the Cat was worth 5, at least Dave said that. Maybe it was only when attacking?
@@joaorobalo7594 yep. All the bonuses were only on attack.
Yeah looks like there was a mis-calculation of the final cat's defense and forgot to use the power, so time for a rematch!
Without using the Clairvoyant power it wouldn't change the result. The Clairvoyant (4) would beat the Dave's Cat (3), but the next Cat from Dave would beat the Clairvoyant (4) and to beat the Cat Lincoln would need to draw a card of number 2 and would need to draw the Shark (5) too, so he would bench out after the Director (4) from Dave win against the Shark... Using the Clairvoyant power to put the Vilain on top, I think could change the result.
Damn, booo to me for missing that. Because two of the things I like about this game are a) the final battle FTW where points don't matter anymore (because if one player gets crazy lucky during battles 1-7, they still have to "win" at the very end... and b) that a really powerful deck can still lose at the end if the shuffle isn't the best (because if one player builds a crazy great deck and crushed battles 1-7, they still have to "win" at the very end.
I really enjoy Game Genic supplies. Those token silos are awesome!

Nice playthrough. I wondered since years why you never made a playthrough of the fantastic game VIKTORY II by Morrison games out of Texas. Since i got it send to me to Germany, i played it continously. A fantastic game.
Have you guys played flag dash? It is fun. Would like to see a play through. It is capture the flag as well
25:33 - Dave says that at the end of the SECOND ROUND you have to take out a Beta card and swap it out for one of the R cards. Where in the rules does it say "second round"? I thought the swap had to be done at the very start of the tournament.

Really interested in this one. It was an interesting playthrough. Since all of the cards are sleeved, is it fair to assume that the card quality isn't that great? Sleeved cards seem to fit in the plastic draw decks, but do they fit in the box ok?

What size for card sleeves and how many cards are there?

Is the sound quality off or is it on my end? Dave sounds like he's talking into a box.
We had to process audio because of ambient noise and it affected Dave's voice the most.-Lincoln

So how do all 3 of you rate the fun factor and is this too complex for an 8-10 year old to play with the family?
It's not hard at all. I think the biggest hurdle is remembering the values of the cards depending on the phase. It does have a healthy dose of luck. We are looking forward to playing it more. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln
I agree with Lincoln. The most "complex" part was remembering your attack values are mostly not the same as your defense values after you win. I made that mistake not only during the very last showdown (when I'd had the most time/experience to know better), but also a few more times along the way that were thankfully edited out :)
As for fun, I'd give it 7/10, but only if you're okay with potential wide swings of luck.
I find it strange, there is no game in "fights". No decisions, no variables. Winner is known at the point when deck shuffling stops. You just reveal cards and follow instructions. The game is only card adding and removing from the decks. No?
There are some decisions from cards played during the battle, but for the most part the game is from deck-building and tuning.
It is weird... but it's also kind of liberating. Kinda like folding a fancy paper airplane and then watching it fly :) That said, there are some bench-management cards and deck-arranging cards that provide in-fight decisions. Also, I mean, there were a LOT of other cards we never really saw/considered, as well as that "advanced" UFO deck we didn't use.
Yeah seems a bit lack-luster on the strategy side. This game might be interesting to play with a child, but not at my game-nights.
This is one of the few games i rated a 1, it's so bad lol

I played it with 8 players. It was totally luck based time wasting. It was ok for playing it once, but never again.
Its a terrible game at any player count, its just not a good game
