Tampa Bay Lightning 4 yrs ago had 62 wins, got swept in the first round. Boston Bruins this year 65 wins, a record, and lose in 7. Crazy.
Teams need to start treating the President's Trophy like the Mario Kart blue shell.
The moment the season is near the end, just go in "reverse" and lose on purpose so your in second by the time the shell/end of season hits.
This is why I love playoff Hockey, anything can happen.

Pat listing these all time greats that didn't play for teams with better records made me think how little that means. No one on this Bruins team is going to be remembered like Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux, Crosby, etc, etc. A lot of middling talent that had off-the-charts puck luck all year getting literally every good bounce and that wasn't at all sustainable. If ever there was a correction (and the Panthers brought them one), they were going to be hurting.
The only thing better than watching my team advance to the second round, is seeing Boston blow it in game 7 one day later. Cheers fellas. Enjoy that presidents trophy.

As soon as OT started you knew the bruins were cooked. Barely dealed with adversity all year. Couldn’t handle it when it mattered most. Kept four people back in OT. Only trying to hit home runs. Florida wanted it more. 2-3 players to every puck. It was amazing. Bruins deserved that L.

This loss hurts. I have been a fan since the days of Bobby Orr in the 70s when i was a young pup. And then the draught happened and it wasnt until 2011 that I finally awaked to another championship! And then the disappointment the following years. Then this year.. the year of destiny!! I told my wife this could finally be the greatest team we ever put together and we just might win it all. Should have kept my mouth shut. To make matters worse...I live in Florida and now will have to listen to these "fans" for a long time. Boston Connor I feel your pain brother!!

Red Wings back in 95 had 62 wins and were rocked in the playoffs. Playoff hockey is unpredictable
You all missed the greatest play. When OT started the first 30 seconds or so the bruins came out flying Panthers goalie stopped play and had the refs check the post and that stopped the game for a minute or so while they checked the goal post. That stoppage gave the panthers a few minutes to collect themselves and it changed the momentum. Watch before and after the goal post check on OT! That was the biggest play changer!
This loss hurts sure. But to suggest that hockey teams don’t come back from down 3-1 and have 8 seeds win all the time. This isn’t basketball or football. Low seeds win all the time in hockey and the panthers were the president cup winners last year. What hurts was watching the panthers out play the bruins every night
