@@TwelveAcres This morning I lookeded in the ball Complete Book of Home preserving i found on page 393 pumpkin or winter squash preparation cut into one inch cubes do not Mash or puree, I remember a couple years back listening to a podcast cast and I believe puree can causes a density issue because it's so thick, so it may or may not can correctly.

Is this method recommended by Ball, i thought that puree creates a density issue, they use to say only can pumpkin in chunks?
Ball doesn't have any instructions for canning pumpkin or squash at all- only freezing and drying them.

Pumpkin puree is not safe to can. I would be very careful. If youre new to canning, absolutely do not do this. Can it in 1 inch chunks.
