Man Rom, I just came to this realization a few weeks ago at Johns Hopkins in this Fellowship/Grad program I’m in. Coming from Howard, and being a black man in this country with a liberation focused mindset, I’ve read a lot of different books that my peers(even ones who are black) haven’t read. This makes my perspective different, and something I struggled with in my first year was embracing that I had a different perspective(not that I was ashamed of it). I wanted to fit myself into a certain box of what social science in this spaces should but be but last month I just really started to look at this articles and books from MY perspective, and a lot of people had never heard what I said before even though it was “normal” for me. It has been frustrating not having my ideas being accepted (especially by a lot of black feminists) because the black man is practically viewed as subhuman and incapable of agency behind his decisions. Embracing what makes me special will take me a long way, and where I want to go. Great video.
This just in time just got done watching that terrence howard joe rogan with scientists eric weinstein was digusted how condescending he was towards terrence scientific claims and breakthroughs.
I really do think differently especially because I spent time alone . 🙏🏾🙌🏾

Keep going bro! Remember that you’re the leader regardless of what these black females or other whites supremacist adjacents feel.
Also, you should check out the book, “Black Men and Racial Trauma” by Yamonte Cooper. Fresh off the printing press and came out in 2024.
