I love how the first songs are WPSIATWIN all over again, then Fluorescent came and "got you there mate, here's some depression", then This House A Circus goes "nah jk love" only to end it with 505
I just love how humble they are compared to other bands that are like "yeah, we're on the fookin' top of the world. Our band are the best band since Oasis".. or some shit like that. The Arctic Monkeys are just lads from down the road who are like "let's make some good tunes, stay clear of the press and make friends with P Diddy". That's why I love them.
this song is so awesome... Curiosity becomes a heavy load, Too heavy to hold, will force you to be cold. And do me a favor, and ask if you need some help! She said, do me a favor and stop flattering yourself! How to tear apart the ties that bind, perhaps fuck off, might be too kind... this breaks my heart... he sings my life right there!
I wish he would sing with the style he did 14 years ago, instead of his style now. But I'm watching their concert this saturday anyway. It's going to be my first time watching them live. Oh I miss 2009 Alex Turner 🥲
I think they sound great now, and all, I love Humbug but... Do me a favour and play with the energy you used to play, like in Glastonbury 2007. That energy is what I miss about them.
@AVAFANATIC27 He's changed (for the better) and so has this song. It sounds more controlled and more personal whereas Alex is no longer a kid. He's a man.
@Renegademaster15 Kinda agreed with you all the way until the last paragraph. I don't think they were much better if any at Glasto. They were certainly more energetic but like you said Alex did sound a bit off live back then. Here he sounds much more refined and consistent. They haven't got the energy they used to have but now they've got cool little segments here and there, random improvisations and an air of mystery. I much prefer them like this.
@crackoish I know I do that for audio, not the actual video itself, because for some reason gifsoup doesn't accept this video, I think that means it's not downloadable.
@bowyer56 I wouldn't say that "i fucking hate" it but, yeah it's weak on the old song but great the old ones ... If only he could switch to the old voice some times ...
@juve9188 Well,he kinda lost that funny middle class accent which made his singing unique.This is still good but I preferred his earlier preformances of this song than this one.
@juve9188 He clearly does sing this differently from how they used to do this, he's a better singer then he was live before (he's always sounded a bit strange live compared to the recordings) However they've totally lost the energy of the song here, it's a lot slower and less involved I saw them during 2009 at Leeds Festival, and they were the most disappointing headliner I've ever seen by a long shot, they were ten times better at Glasto in 2007
the strokes are cool definitely but they always kept the same ideas, the last album was a bit different but for example, 'Whatever People Say I'm That's What I'm Not' and 'Suck it And See' are really different. You may not like either one or the other, but the point is that a band has to change and improve their music because that's basically music. Not like AC/DC that kept doing E G D A all the time....
@oiergasdn Boring? It's better. His voice before was more energetic and raw but it didn't always sound great, especially live. At Glasto 07 his voice didn't resemble the voice on their records. He's more consistent now and singing in a different way to fit the new songs. Something a bit more like his old voice would probably be better for the older songs though. I want A Certain Romance and Mardy Bum back :(
Such a shame.. must listen this song live I mean.. you have to be there with these guys.. these live version on youtube..none of them were better than the studio version... Such a shame.. such a epic song from a epic band
Can we all just agree Favourite Worst Nightmare left us emotionally broken?
I love how the first songs are WPSIATWIN all over again, then Fluorescent came and "got you there mate, here's some depression", then This House A Circus goes "nah jk love" only to end it with 505

AND NOW THE CAR
His style in here was fucking awesome. Long hair, leather jacket, jeans. Fucking boss man
+MarryJewana and a more cool personality
I just love how humble they are compared to other bands that are like "yeah, we're on the fookin' top of the world. Our band are the best band since Oasis".. or some shit like that.

Best live version of this song, I like the little pause at 2:54 when they're going hard.
This is the only version where they do that.
This is my favourite: /watch?v=-ybSHkPzyoY
This is the most emocional version I have seen
I agree...that part just made the song so much better than it already is.
They also do it on apollo 2007 and several recent ones
YESS
This song gets to him every single time he sings it.

I think they sound great now, and all, I love Humbug but... Do me a favour and play with the energy you used to play, like in Glastonbury 2007. That energy is what I miss about them.

@victorpuentedura Fair enough, for the record this is one of my favourite arctic's songs :)
The after breakup song? /:
you have to look for an older live version, because this one is from humbug era. they played a bit smooth and slow
my mans drumming in some sweatpants
Humbug era

no need to compare ANY bands. someone will always disagree.
@crackoish I know I do that for audio, not the actual video itself, because for some reason gifsoup doesn't accept this video, I think that means it's not downloadable.
@PattleProductions well it doesnt matter he just trying to look lik,e 1 of his heros
@HullaTia
I know that he wrote it after he broke up with his girlfriend
You can't say that these blokes are better than The Strokes. The Strokes are pure genius.
@ninjainscrubs I actually saw both of these performances though, did you?
@BloodyMemy21 lol but it was so perfect this way :(
@bowyer56
I wouldn't say that "i fucking hate" it but, yeah it's weak on the old song but great the old ones ... If only he could switch to the old voice some times ...
@AMASFGILT yeah and jamie and alex.
zor etaga
@jgv6661962 a little bit yeah but am is bigger stilldont get me wrong though the strokes is still unreal
@PattleProductions im not hating on him he just tring to make himself look like julian casablancas to hard
@juve9188 Well,he kinda lost that funny middle class accent which made his singing unique.This is still good but I preferred his earlier preformances of this song than this one.
@oiergasdn just matured, I think?
@juve9188 He clearly does sing this differently from how they used to do this, he's a better singer then he was live before (he's always sounded a bit strange live compared to the recordings)

Could you guys please tell me, what this song is about...?
(Because my English is just not good enough to understand AM lyrics...:D)
Thanks a lot.
@pana619 Hahhaa good prediction
@raem94 I thought you were but if you say so... Anyway this has nothing to do with the song (which is great!) so let's stop it.
@strokemonkeys1 I think it's kinda cute..
the strokes are cool definitely but they always kept the same ideas, the last album was a bit different but for example, 'Whatever People Say I'm That's What I'm Not' and 'Suck it And See' are really different. You may not like either one or the other, but the point is that a band has to change and improve their music because that's basically music. Not like AC/DC that kept doing E G D A all the time....
Alex is a top lad... But what was he thinking with that hair!
@oiergasdn Boring? It's better. His voice before was more energetic and raw but it didn't always sound great, especially live. At Glasto 07 his voice didn't resemble the voice on their records.
