Sad to say but it's true I went to a concert a couple of months back everyone was singing along to why do you only call me when you're high but then when dancing shoes came on it was just me, my mates I came with and two other random people singing along. It was actually quite depressing
+Matt thursby wow that's sad... Wish they'd play songs of their first two albums more, like I don't think they've played this live for a long time now? I know Alex's voice isn't what it was but even so...
Look at Alex as he plays the last chord. That innosence in his eyes. He looks surprised, like, 'why are the cheering'? Besides, you can feel the pure love for music here. Playing for the sake of playing, thats it. Im afraid that today its kinda rare to find in their concerts. It truly saddens me.
I'm afraid not, mate. But there's no blaming him I guess. It's almost inevitable. But even though nowadays Alex could be quite cocky, you can tell by the look in his eyes that he's not enjoying any of it lately. He feels tired, I think. Which sadly is, also inevitable.
Unfortunately, something that I've noticed about extremely talented bands that skyrocket to fame at such a young age is that they get bored.. Very quickly. They've been there done that quicker than most anybody. They could've easily produced another masterpiece such as their first two albums but they were tired of the same old and hence humbug and suck it and see we're made. Sadly they're not the same as they were in their younger days.
I just noticed Matt's t-shirt! It's cool how they're touring with the Black Keys now, 6 years later. (and I saw them live last last week; it was the best concert I've ever been to.)
That is not even the hardest part of the song. There are parts where the same thing is played WITH a constant 8th note kick drum. And the "she won't be surprised" part is again a pain in the ass to play.
I haven't seen them yet, but I really want to. Anyway...I really think it's a pitty they, as silvioCarrera says, don't put that much energy in the live shows anymore as they do for example on this one. I mean, it must have been unbelievable to see them, playing that song, that strong. WOW!
it's called live music. it happens when you don't play with a metronome (as it should, cause most drummers don't have perfect timing, and feed off the crowds energy) could you imagine playing to that crowd? Talk about getting hyped up.
Little did they know that they would never be at this level of awesomeness ever in their lives.. I still think this album was a mistake or a blooper since they never matched this kind of sound.. was the best!
the drummer is a freaking BEAST
Antobrantep AN AGILE BEAST
His name is Matt XD
AGILE BEAST
Mathew J helders the third
our agile beast
you know they're true fans, not because they're reciting lyrics, but they're actually humming the guitar chorus.

and it's pre-AM

Exactly how I felt when I saw them at their last 2 shows :(

Transformation is just a requirement, I reckon. People have to go the distance and see for themselves who the hell they are
There's nothing like they're bored or anything...afterall....now they now that they're famous n they have fans who always cheer for them
Drummer is wearing a Black Keys Shirt! in 2006! thats nice because the Black Keys were almost unknown at the time
Woww that's soo cool! The Black keys are my fav band
Tamara, when did that happen?
cheaxel Matt
matt helder is a tshirt- talent scout... he made the same with the royal blood some years later
What do you mean "drummer"? He's Matt Helder for christ sake
The guy at 0:45 shredding that inflatable guitar.. That's fuckin awesome
Ben Kelly ikr
Ben Kelly I think that’s actually an inflatable bass because of the body shape and how the bridge is placed low
Sergio Cisneros it's an inflatable it's not exact
@@Sergio-bk4vo A bass is a guitar. A Bass Guitar
@@Raver-1601 that is not how that works
what a drummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3:25 what a gorgeous dreamy sight
I would give anything to feel that feeling of thousands of people cheering for you just for doing what you love. That must be the best feeling
un maestro matt
3:27 I love his surprised face, he is like: "they love us? they like our music? unbelieveble!" it makes me sad he's not like that anymore.
Fat Puppy fame got to him, big time
Groovyturtle He just grew up and he's acting.
Gabriel Suarez They had to change their image. That's all.

That is not even the hardest part of the song. There are parts where the same thing is played WITH a constant 8th note kick drum. And the "she won't be surprised" part is again a pain in the ass to play.

WOW!
0:47 las palabras sobran...
2:41 Agile Beast, everyone!
how can Alex and Jamie play that fast?
Ive tried but i just cant do it
It took me a few hours to do it when I first saw it
most of the drummers i listen to don't use metronomes and have perfect timing :s chad smith is one of them :p that guys is a powerhouse :D
Gotta agree with you on that one :p
it fantactic
Gooooooooodddddddddddddddddddddddd
haha who knew they would eventually tour together!
it's called live music. it happens when you don't play with a metronome (as it should, cause most drummers don't have perfect timing, and feed off the crowds energy) could you imagine playing to that crowd? Talk about getting hyped up.
yea and now they r doing a tour with them
fuckin epic.
@MindstormRecs man, dont try to take the light off of matt helders. this is great drumming and you know it.
i love the energy and the go getter attitude, that being said, the tempo goes up and down all through the song, this was 6 years ago though
it was intentional
Helders' Black Keys top, ace.
great gig! they were really on fire in this one! btw did u see the guy at 1:38 he shaved the T in the logo fest on his chest lol XD
havent looked at this video in a long time, quite shocked to see top comment hahah
Little did they know that they would never be at this level of awesomeness ever in their lives.. I still think this album was a mistake or a blooper since they never matched this kind of sound.. was the best!

Is Matt wearing a Black Keys T Shirt???
So what's the morning?
Oh no the thumbnail
his voice rly comes through on "disappointment"
i would love to visit the UK just to see how odd they are and how odd they think i am..
me gusta la parte de jamie :)
as if the song needed a faster tempo lol. no idea how they play that fast.
Think it’s sped up
@@logannt6419 it’s not
The guy with his plastic guitar at 0:40, lol haha, nice swag
Matt repping the Black Keys t-shirt in 2006
3:25 fucking epic with the wind :D
they fucked up the tempo badly in the "better imagine that" parts lol yet its still an incredible performance
i think its intencional
Probably intentional, lots of bands do this. I know Coldplay sometimes changes the chords in their songs during live performances.
+Meow said Da Dog I agree, New Alex is awesome imo. the album's are for the music, concerts are for the show. now they put on a show and it's great
"bear that in mind tonight" ;)
nice black keys t shirt there matt
it doesn't care!!!.. he can look like Elvis, but is just the muic...
But apparently, he don't think the same. His music is decent and it's all about the looks.
What is the amp that alex use?
Orange ad30 they don’t do it anymore sadly
2019?
What’s this strat an American Standard???
Yes
YOUR DESIGN ????
Im a musician, normal people wont really notice but they do loads of tempo changing, they probably not have metronome
