Hi there, great video! Am struggling a little to go efficiently upwind in lower winds, bit this makes good sense in combo with the board' edge control... What about riding in wave, not shore waves, but waves on the sea coming from where the wind is coming. I notice that when the wave picks me up and I don't surf it I lose speed and power and ability to go upwind diminishes...? Any tips there?

Hi mate, I assume you're talking here about riding down the wave as opposed to riding into it? In that case it's because s the wave picks you up the apparent wind in your kite drops as you and your board are now travelling that much faster...so again the key here is to actually slow your self down, edge hard and fly the kite so you regain control (as opposed to the wind having control)

@@TantrumX Hi there! Cheers for the reply! I was riding in choppy conditions and my intention was to ride up wind, but because the waves coming from behind me sort of pick me up and also the angle of the board edge changes, I slow down and lose speed/ planning. Waves were around 2m and wind was coming from the same direction. I could sort of surf the waves a little to get planning and gain speed, but then I lose the upwind tack and have to walk backup... Wind is side-on-shore.

@@andrewbon206 Right got you, so if you want to keep riding upwind you have to change your angle of attack with the board as they approach. As you see one coming cut a little harder upwind so you're approaching it more head on and then as you drop off the back of it head back slightly downwind to keep your speed.

@@TantrumX ok, so to get over the wave more directly/ quickly by maybe bending the font leg a little to make the front of the board face the wave and get over the wave then let go a bit of the angle and this should help to maintain speed... Will give that a try !! Cheers! Keep up the good vids! 👌👌👌

@@andrewbon206 Rather than straighten the front leg dig in with the heel, but yes that's the idea
