Enjoying your videos! It will be interesting to follow your journey as you navigate the bureaucracy of getting permissions to run the type of business you have envisioned on the property. Congrats!
Thanks Pedro, we will do what we can. More importantly we will flex the plan to fit the environment and everything will work out. Or the plan will change. Either way 😁
I'm late to the party and just following your journey now (end Dec 2020). I'm keen to get through the episodes so I can see where you are now. I want to do it in order, that way you feel like you are really coming along for the ride. So excited for you. That agent sounds like a real gooden!
Congratulations!. I've only just started watching you guys, a year ago you made the offer with the great estate agent Carlo. It's definitely the best property that you looked at. Looking forward to catching up on the rest of the videos. Big love to the dogs. Karl
Thank you, the farm has a Portuguese name which I cant quite remember but it does translate into "Farm of the Harvester" or something along those lines 😊
Its 1:30 from where we are renting. 2:30 from either Porto or Lisbon and has a train station only 4km away which can get you to any of the big towns and cities. Getting the campervan down the mountain will be a lot easier than up :D
Wow what an absolute bargain! I have been watching all your videos up to this point avidly. The property you have bought is a no brainer it really stands out from the other derelict money pits. Nice one guys. As regards those who suggest you should have negotiated harder....of course not. Only a fool would delay. When you see a bargain snap it up. You'd be pushed to buy a two up two down terraced house in the Welsh valleys ( probably the cheapest properties in the UK for good reason!) for the price you have paid for a self contained small holding. ( Yes admitedly it is in Portugal but it is all relative) Look forward to your future videos to see how you develop a business!
Thank you. In December we will have been on a farm for a year and if you catch up on the latest episodes you will see we have come a long way. Thanks for watching and the positive comment ❤️
@@OKportugal Yes really looking forward to catching up on your progress. We live on a small farm in Wales ( I'm also a commercial beekeeper and we breed Border collies). We also love traveling with our little boy around Europe in our campervan. We love Portugal and hope to be over there in November. Have you set up Motorhome / Campervan site yet? As we would love to visit you. (Paying obviously)
@@welshbeekeepers8275 We nearly bought a smallholding in Cardigan, Wales. Its very beautiful there! We haven't setup anything because of the lockdown and we decided we want to rather have the farm all to ourselves and not have the hassle of running a tourism business. There are lots of wonderful sites all over Portugal so I'm sure you will not have any trouble finding any :)
@@OKportugal Cardigan is nice ( we live in the Brecon beacons) but for sure you are in a far better place. Yes it's wise to take your time and you are quite right to want the place to yourselves. We thought of opening a campsite ourselves... but we do love our privacy also. To be honest we do tend to mostly wild camp while traveling and of course Portugal is very welcoming in this regard. I'm looking forward to getting to your video on bees ( We did have over 300 hives ourselves) Bees are great and they thrive in Portugal ( great honey) but I would recommend you hesitate on buying any other livestock( sheep, goats, pigs, cows etc) They are very time consuming and a real tie if you want to get away. Anyway all the best to you.
@@welshbeekeepers8275 wow that's a lot of bees! We are complete novices and learning as we go along. We are taking things slowly and I'm in no rush to complicate our lives but I am warming up to the idea of sheep 😁👍
Hello, we bid on the same farm. A month earlier the you, but we dit not want to pay the 6000 euro deposit without the legaal papers. Hope everything is oké with the farm? No depts ore anything? Its a great place gl with it.
Great to accompany you on thie search and purchasing journey. Would you be willing to share the price range paid for the farm? For example was it between 75k and 95k euros? Thank you in advance.
Hello again Would you be willing to advise Did you go to Portugal to meet with estate agents the ask them to find you what you were looking for the meet up with them later Or were appointments set up same day Would you also be willing to share the details of your agent He seemed like he was really helpful Thanking you in advance
Sure no problem. We looked for most of the properties online from the UK on the Remax, PurePortugal and Mountain Homes Immobilaria websites and made contact with the different agents via email. Once we got a rough idea of when we could see each place we bought flights to portugal and scheduled a couple of viewings into each day. The agent you want the details for is excellent. His name is Paulo and he works from the Remax office in Castelo Branco. Please tell him that we reccomended his services to you 😊 Estate agents can also arrange viewing days for you if you give them an idea of what you are looking for and your budget. Good luck with your search 😊

Great news! Super excited for this new chapter, looking forward to renovation videos👍
Thank you. We still want to film more farm tours so others can see what's available in their price range :)

Well done, how far is it from where you are now. All you've got to do is get the camper van down that road and through the village, good luck.

What did you use to make and edit your videos
Sorry for all the questions
I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro on PC
@@OKportugal thank you
would you share the name of the agent?
Sure, we used Remax Agency for the purchase
NEVER NEGOCIATE WITH REMAX, ERA and so on. They always create a scene/drama to trick you. Better to negociate directly with the owners.
I think we got a great price that was very fair and I am happy with the outcome.
Welcome to Portugal!
This reminds me of this Mitchell and Webb clip:
