You are by far the best roller-skating instructor on UA-cam! Thank you. Pleasure to watch and learn.
I find whenever I’m out there’s always a couple of folks who think it’s really hilarious 😂 they lit just stand and laugh lol so much judgment.
Try it as a 40 year old cis dude! 😂
im 41 and gangly as fook :p we are all good bollox to em :) @@gliblygangrenous
I've only been at this for two months. I will be 56 this year. I know I must look like a sight, because I have all the gear on, even padded pants! But I am seriously struggling to get started on rough concrete. I can't get going. I have the 78a wheels, but the starting point is also my stopping point. I can't get them to roll. They stick on that rough surface and I feel like I'm going to fall. Then I panic and don't do it. Anyone have any advice on how to actually start? I know it's not my wheels. It's me.
@@this-that57 if you can’t go forwards try doing bubbles or lemons I think is good place to start :)
@@Bez81 that's what I've been trying. But I'm even struggling with that. But I will keep trying.
You always make everything look so easy! I will try AGAIN to skate on the rough concrete that has me terrified every attempt I make. So far my progress is practically non existent. I have my 78a wheels, but as soon as I start to move my foot forward, it sticks and catches on that rough surface, and I panic. Then I stop. And I am feeling so frustrated! I've even considered building one of those skate trainers to help get me going! 🤪 Looking forward to your next video. 🛼🛼
I share your fear and frustration.
@@scoobysnax8127 I just went out and tried again. I ended up in tears. I really want to get past this. All the best to you! 💖
Same here girl! I'm terrified of outdoor skating and stick to rinks for the most part, thanks for sharing your fear.
@@lucidhaze86 thanks! I wish there were rinks here where I live. That's where I'd rather skate. But since there's not, I've got to brave up and go outside. But I'm working on it!
get two hiking sticks to help wit balancing i think imma try that but i wish theses wheels was like when u bought a pair of roller blade wheels, them wheels rode over everything smoothly:... but I DOOOO think if they are the cheaper wheels they arent made as soft as some and the softness on the wheel is what makes it slide over concrete better... also try a tennis court or basketball court them are sometimes smoother to then the rds
Love how you talk about overcoming the fear between the car and the path just getting through the parking lot! Overcoming fear and gaining confidence is half the battle!
Wear outdoor wheels (and safety gear), use them, have a blast, enjoy the ride, and then learn to clean your bearings when they start to make noise or slow you down!
For me, skating mission beach every weekend takes 2-3 months before they need a cleaning.
Awesome skate training video for street skating. Thank you!❤
Love this. Assess the situation is so key!!!
The best advice as usual. I especially like how you don’t treat your bearings so preciously. Most of us have indoor wheels so those can be the clean, nicer bearings. Love your outdoor videos!
You’re 🎵 Simply The Best 👌🏼✨
You said ,"if I'm watching this 10 years from now"😭. I hope to still be doing this 10 years from now... I'll be your age!! ❤❤❤. You have way more confidence in ramp skating at your age than I do at mine!!! I keep over Thinking it... Wondering if I'm gonna hold myself back, yet again, when the skate park opens this fall, fearing I'm gonna look the fool!!!
I just know you're gonna kill it at the park this fall!!
@@JuliaGr8 Awe! Thanks for the boost!!! I'll carry it with me!!!xoxo
Do it!!!!!!
Excellent video! Slowly but surely getting there.
Thanks Dirty! ❤😊
I find it interesting how Iv never watch a outdoor skating video till now and Iv been outdoor skating for well over a year now, and how These things you’re explaining about is the same things I do already. I guess after a while you body teachers it’s self how to move. Love your videos.
Thanks for another great video! We are just now getting comfortable at the rink and are ready to start skating the trails by where we live. Love these tips. Thanks, Diry! ♥ ♥ ♥
You’re the best Dirty 🌻🥰
Thank you Dirty! I just love your instructions! You make skating so fun!
You are Awesome! Thank you for all your wisdom. You’re the Best!!!!
Dirtyyyyy, please, please, come to Belgrade, and teach us how to roller skate ❤️🙏😁 Nobody here is teaching.
❤❤❤❤ Yay! SNACKS!😂😂😂
I just got my out door wheels put on my suregrip boxers. Next stop new laces and toe stops, mine are worn down to the metal.
We don’t get sand in PA, we get goose poop, wet leaves (which are like ice), forest litter and sticks :/
How can I sign up for the outdoor skating class?
Do you recommend any specific bearing for outside use or just keeping a set of bearnings/wheels separate for indoor and outdoor use?
Keep a separate set for sure.
Are there wheels with bearings already installed to buy?
+1 for separate bearings. Outdoors dirty bearings dont feel much different unless they’re really dirty but indoors you’ll notice them immediately.
What wheels are you rolling on?
Sand, water, gum, cracks, glass, random dogs, small children, chunks of hair, your co-skater's wheel going into yours...
All true!!!!!
What wheel is the best for the surface you are skating on?
there are outdoor bearings? i thought it was just wheels
No just separate ones that you designate as your outdoor ones.
SURPRISE !#*&!%😲🤕
