Legends of Lancaster - The White Hermit of Mt. Joy

Welcome back to “Legends of Lancaster,” an exclusive video series during which LancasterOnline goes in-depth into the lore and legends of Lancaster County. The mini-documentaries touch on everything from intriguing history, to colorful myths, to various tall tales that have been passed down through generations.
In this episode, videographer Tyler Huber travels 40 feet below street level to the catacombs of Bube’s Brewery to talk about the legend of the White Hermit. This white-bearded fellow was said to wander the underground caves of Mount Joy naked, even in the middle of the winter. Huber talked to Bube’s owner Sam Allen to get more details about this local legend and to also explore other spooky tales from the brewery.
