You see. Back then you had to put in the work in the woodshed. It was about musicianship and presentation back in the day. With emphasis on musicianship. The guys we looked up to and emulate it. Came out of the late 60s into the mid-70s. And these guys were sound musicians with all kinds of imagination.
Wow. That keyboard solo was something else. Dr. Fink is seriously kicking butts here. Not to mention the guitar solo... I’m dying to know what he does to this guitar ( based on the 1982 version, I’ve got the idea, unusual " use" of the guitar neck and strings 😅). But, it sounds slightly different. My, he really exploits the potential of the instrument, with no limits and I love it. When I write " no limits" here, I think less about the visual performance of a guitarist giving a handjob to a guitar neck, that could shock back in 1981, than about musical limits of not doing it because it sounded so unusual. He tried, found it likely interesting enough, so why not play this on stage just because no one did this previously ? I absolutely love this musical audacity) I so hope to see old concerts footages found and shered in the future. Yes he would disapprove. But I was too young during the 80’s and 90’s to fully appreciate his real talent past the major hits and missed the train. And it’s precisely those older albums and video that turned me into an avid admirer in no time, so .. if it can contribute to broaden the audience to my generation, and the younger ones, it’s not that bad I guess...
The Audio is Unbelievable! Oh, how I wish there was a video too of This Performance!

Yeah he did!!! Woooooow!!!
His guitar playing gets so overlooked damn genius.
It puts me in awe of how he was playing such amazing jazz licks and progressions even back in the day during this era.
