What a fascinating drive through Tokyo. It’s amazing to see how the city blends historic spots with modern projects like Azabudai Hills and Takanawa Gateway City. Every corner has something special to tell! 🚗

Tokyo Metropolitan area lives 40million, and Tokyo 23 district lives 9 million, traffic congestion seems not that severe. But some main road have congestion

It certainly helps that tokyo is very well designed with official, industrial, residential, and commercial uses all next to each other to a certain extent with the furthest industrial away from houses being the most polluting industry. Then they have one of the most extensive and well designed train networks in the world with metro and intercity interlinked. Then they also have the most extensive metropolitan expressway network in japan. All of these things help keep traffic as low as it can be considering the density and amount of citizens living within the city proper and within the metro region.

I Like how there are multiple arrows telling you that lane is turning left or right, or straight. In my country, the arrows are drawn only in the front, when there is traffic, we wouldn’t know that lane is for left or right turn and gets stuck at the queue.

Since 70% of Japan's land area is mountainous, the city center has a good balance even though there is little green space.

Japan doesnt get rid of the overhead cables not because they cant, but because they dont want to. Japan experience earthquake often and overhead cables are easier to fix and maintain compared to the underground cable.
