And that it was only Ichigo that upset the balance, both bc he’s the protag and that he’s a Soul King candidate. That theory would tie in well with Can’t Fear Your Own World and would explain why there are only THREE realms instead of FOUR. Then again, that’s just an old theory and it doesn’t explain how a broken hollow mask could summon the gates to Hell or the whole ‘giant-hand-cutting-you-with-a-giant-knife’ BS in Season 1 but I like it.
Among the 4 bleach movies this is my personal favorite, but I didn’t know that kubo wasn’t as envolved as I thought he would be. I wonder what would Kubo’s Hell Verse be like. Thanks for making this vid, it gave me a new point on view in the movie! P.S Thanks for having an interest in the series. Bleach has a bad rep because some people misjudged it. It’s not the best to be honest, I might give a 7 PERSONALLY, but it’s not trash. I’ll be always looking forward towards your bleach vids keep it up man!
The most popular opinion I've been hearing about this film is that *"it's pretty shitty"* or *"The worst movie"* and honestly, I think they may have overlooked the good stuff that the movie has, The action sequence, the animation, unique character designs and as well as seeing Ichigo's Full Hollow Form again since his battle with Ulquiorra AND last but not least, his Hell Verse Form which is really stunning imo, yeah sure it didn't felt like the same since it's not made by Tite Kubo, but I think it has a a lot to offer even if Kubo isn't involve, no disrespect to Kubo but I REALLY love this movie, if this movie is objectively bad compared to the other 3 than this would definetly be a personal guilty pleasure of mine. And ending credit song of "T.M. Revolution - Save the One Save the All" is fantastic!
I mean chances are whatever Kubo had in mind maybe could have made the movie better in at least the plot sense. Maybe make things more coherent and fleshed out in the end probably.
This could have been an interesting arc between the fullbring arc and the quincy arc. Really showcasing how Uryu, Chad and Orihime got stronger in the time skip. Given how one of the novels states or implies that the 5th unnamed great clan was concerned about the chaos pit and hell was created to cover it. This would have been a create arc to start exploring more lore
Elizabeth Vucic well it’s lowkey implied that even in the beginning if I’m sure of it orihime and chad unlocked the soul king fragments from being around ichigo in his konpaku form his soul reaper that is. And i believe that how they gotten stronger just by being around ichi when he gets new abilities and unlocks his power they get it as well from being around him
Maybe, or maybe not given that Ichigo still canonically lost his powers in the resolution of the Arrancar War. Unless this movie got moved to after the Fullbringer Arc. Which we all know the reception that arc got and the cancellation of the anime.
@@D-Havoc To some extent, this movie might've work if you watch it after the Arrancar Arc but before the Gotei 13 Invasion Filler Arc. At the very least, the end of the filler showed Ichigo truly lost his power.
@@zeroskaterz92 Even then, you'd have to overlook the inconsistencies of this movie and what filler anime arcs kept with continuity of the canon arcs before. Such as this movie depicting Yamamoto with seemingly one arm, but it's his _left_ arm. The arm he canonically sacrificed in his fight with Aizen. The Filler Arcs correctly depicts Yamamoto with with right arm. And then viewing this movie after the Arrancar War, but before the filler arcs would open a can of worms to why Ichigo didn't use _Final Getsuga Tensho_ at any point of the movie. Nor any of his post-Dangai Precipice training feats.
Do you plan on doing analyses of the filler arcs of bleach ? (Bounts, liberation of zapakutos etc ...) That would be very interesting I think, as many people like to spit on them even thought they have good ideas and opportunities for characters interactions. (sorry if I did many mistakes, english is not my first langage XD )
If Kokuto and Shuren was in the main series that would actually be so lit. Their art and powers look so amazing. Also Kubo is one of the best humans in the world. (IMO)
Definitely my favorite of the 4. I'm not ignorant, i know there are some issues. Like, why does Rukia, a natural at Kido, entrust Renji, a failure at Kido, with a get-out-of-jail-once spell? But whenever i watch it, it doesn't fail to excite me.
Tite Kubo got screwed over, they milked his franchise for everything it had through media that sometimes barely involved him, and then when he finally wanted to do his final arc, they forced him to get it over with as fast as possible so they could put something else in its place.
Nah, still my favourite movie, even with its numerous shortcomings. The prefection of the soundtrack (good lord, the choir is bloody *epic*) and the animation is enough for me to love it. And the Hellverse Ichigo look is just.. yummy 😋
7:00 I love how you put Azaka from KnK as Kokuto's little sister just for the joke and by knowing these movies you're just proving how based you are 👍🏽
The ending leaves a lot to desire, but this was my personal favorite Bleach movie. It's absolutely amazing to Ichigo *burn all of Hell* to the point it was endangering the World of the Living.
I mean I love this movie. This was actually my first time seeing bleach. I didn´t unterstand anything back then but it go me hooked immediatly. What I never understood was, Kokuto at one point had the full trust of Ichigo. Even explaining his past with his own sister. He even asked him, if he Ichigo could cut his chains of hell. But then he screws Ichigo over just to draw his vasto lorde form out, risking his own life and his entire plan to see his sister again? I mean plot holes aside but that plan makes no sense in my opinion. Sure you could argue, that he saw the vision of vasto lorde Ichigo and sought this form specifically. Maybe even , that only vasto lorde ichigo vas strong enough to break the hell chains. But he saw Ichigo with his mask take out multiple hell guards with one or two strikes. So he could even be powerful enough with just the mask. Or at least it would have made more sense to test out the mask first. I think it would have made more sense for the story if ichigo and kokuto worked together until they rescued Yuzu. Then Ichigo would want to fufill his promise to kokuto to break his chains. He tries everything, mask and all, but fails. So Kokuto sees no other choice. He snatches Yuzu once more, maybe even attempting to kill her. Ichigo goes beserk, Vasto Lorde appears and then the movie continues as we know. This would have made more sense in my opinion. Nevertheless, it is still an awesome movie, plotholes and all.
The Conan gag was just perfect! Yeah pretty much my exact feelings on the movie. I still very much like the scene of Ichigo siting in the living room constantly thinking of what to do. The music, colour palate, voice acting and directing was perfect in that scene capturing his character the best. Probably my favourite scene from the movie.
I know its not the same thing, but you're amazing for clarifying Kubos involvement on this movie. To many channels claim this movie as Canon for their power scaling videos
Well, tbh he was a little short on his research. Kubo didn’t want to be credited because he said himself that he had to little to do with the movie, so he felt as though his name shouldn’t be on it. Kubo was actually most pleased with the intro of the movie noting that the Ulquiorra fight was closer to his vision of the fight than the actual anime.
I wish kokuto's betrayal was handled differently. Instead of simply stabbing Ichigo, I would have made it way different. Kokuto would explain to Ichigo how he killed the murderers, and then would explain how to free someone from hell (destroying the chains) and he asks Ichigo to hollowfy. Ichigo would refuse. This is when kokuto would betray Ichigo and force him to hollowfy by attacking him. I would also remove skull clad Ichigo in favor of the mastered Vasto Lorde form. This would defeat kokuto and break his last chain. This would allow the soul society to lock up kokuto in the muken, where we would get an Aizen cameo
Well, let's Thank God we are basically getting a hell arc for bleach with Kubo actually advising it. Also, let's admit that every movie that comes out that's related to the big 3 is usually complete cheeks Naruto, One Piece, Bleach. Powerful antagonists for no explainable reason, major plot holes that contradict the series it's a plethora of problems which is why I turn off my brain when I watch any movie related to the big 3. Sorry for my rant, great video, and as always keep up the amazing work 👑
IMO, a far bigger twist would be Kokuto legit being on their side. He's interfering with Shuren's gang because 'We're sinners we deserve to be here. You know the only way out, stop trying to cheat the system and lie in the bed you made, dickheads.'. Throughout the movie, we get a lot of mixed messages about him. He vanishes a lot whenever Kushinada are near, making him appear suspect to the Gang, but when we see his PoV, he's helping other sinners escape the Kushinada's grasp or settling violent disputes. Have Kokuto be upfront about how he went on a massive killing spree after his sister's murder - hell, have flashbacks of him being as psycho as he is in the movie to show what he was like in the past. Make it emphatically clear he's _not_ looking to escape hell in the least, he's accepted his actions as horrific and is trying to bring back those who would. And at the end of the movie, he's helping with Shuren, gets a 'mortal' wound and seemingly dies. As the Kushanda appear, they do their thing, giving Ichigo the powerup and seal Shuren in the deepest circles of hell for all time. At the same time, the chains on Kokuto evaporate and he transforms into a hell butterfly to be sent back to the cycle of reincarnation, indicating that with his selfless actions he's completed his eon long penance. That's how I'd do it, tbh.
Now that would've been a better use of Kokuto and it'll be cool for an arc during Ichigo's adulthood the guy is looking after a reborn Kokuto to make sure he lives a happy normal life, hell maybe something happens which forces Ichigo to full a Rukia and give Kokuto Shinigami powers giving him the power to protect would be cool to see his Zanpakutō spirit take the form of a human form of Kushinada like a skull clad version of sinner Kokuto
I think Kubo was pretty open and transparent that he was dissapointed with the end stuff of bleach because of him. He had and still does have a lot of problems that got in his way. I hope he can someday get a reboot going and he can see his vision come true
After watching the movie I thought that it looked better than the series. The animation was well done and the level of detail was incredible. Orihime's appearance in this film is my favorite of the movies and of the entire series. I can't explain why I like the way Orihime looks in this movie except that it's the most natural she's ever look. It feels like they really did just pluck her off the street and bring her to a war zone. The few scenes her and Ichigo have together feel realler than any in the anime, simply because the expressions the animators created were perfectly brought to life by the emotions in the actors voices. Now that I've heard someone say the movie was rushed I noticed that it did seem that way. It's funny that I never noticed that till someone pointed it out. I honestly never gave the Bleach movies much thought. Fade to Black I Call Your Name and Hell Verse are tied for being my number one Bleach movie while Diamond Dust Rebellion places as number three and Memories of Nobody places at number four.
@Rip Tide Funny thing is, the same studio that did the animation for hell verse, is doing the animation for the last bleach arc coming out this year. You can tell by the trailer, the animation looks just like hell verse.
When I first heard about this movie years ago I originally thought it was an announcement for a new arc for the series. While that wasn't it I think an arc, even a short one would have been really exciting and interesting.
I remember watching the movie just for the Kushanada Clad form. That shit was honestly epic. The song in the Outro "Save The One, Save The All" just fitted in.
I love this movie, like a lot, but... I honestly agree with your criticisms. If anything, this film is just fun to watch, which is a shame that the writing wasn’t better. The music slaps though 👌
The movie should of been longer, so everything could of been fleshed out more. I honestly like it, but i cant hate you for having legitimate criticisms, that i agree with.
My reasoning for why Kokuto was strong was because he was using the "unbreakable" chain as a crutch to battle with, which was cool. Why he was fast enough to fight Ichigo and found it just as easy even when he has only one chain left, Idk
i watched this movie like a month ago and while yeah the writing is not up to snuff i still think its animation and music carry the whole thing and if the TYBW looks like this movie then there is a lot to look forward to
12:02 Soundscape to Ardor also plays here. Even though the movie was all over the place, I really loved this scene of him thinking while Orihime tends to his sisters.
Kubo: I didn't do enough for this move, my name shouldn't be in the credits. Producer: What did you have in mind. Kubo: Maybe something not so close book ended- maybe have only one proportion of Hell explored so I do more with it in later series I write. Producer: What kind of- Kubo: The enemies will be French themed! I mean I already have Spanish for the Hollows/Arrancar and German for the Quincy/Bounts.
Ahh the time has come Edit: the funny thing about this type of stuff is.. even when you know its not the best you still find it enjoyable its like as long as you know it's bleach content at this point
Great video! I like hellverse but plot holes and the other problems aside the animation is great, the fights are good, and the ost is one of the best soundtracks in the series. I would've really loved to have seen a hell arc in the manga it could've been awesome.
My favorite bleach movie. Back when i saw the trailer in 2010 i thought ulquiorra was coming back to play some sort of role in film. Film Has one of the best anime intros i seen.
Great vid man. It's funny cause as a dumb kid I didn't see Kokuto's betrayal coming. But from the other villians, they reminded me of DBZ movie villians that DBZA used to make fun of. (Pretty one, one with weird powers, big tough stupid one) Hearing about the Kubo situation really sucks because I am curious on what his ideas for hell would of been like. I still think Skull Clad Ichigo is cool, and the animation is top notch, but Fade to Black will remain my favorite Bleach movie. Again great vid, 20 mins went by in a flash lol.
Its interesting to see how bad movies, based on established manga, tend to motivate the mangaka. First was Dragon Ball Super and now Bleach with the new Hell Arc
I always wondered why did not we get a Hell dedicated arc in manga. Such a wasted potential. Hell did not get any importance through the whole story of Bleach whatsoever! I just don't get it... Kubo has a lot of ideas and designs, but proper storytelling is not his strong side.
The movie was beautiful as hell, and the first act was pretty good, but acts 2 and 3 are not all that good, beyond the power of cool. Although I do feel that some hints that the kushenada (sp?) were trying to help Ichigo against the sinner would've made the movie make a lot more sense, along with possibly helping Yuzu's chains go away as she wouldn't be a proper sinner. Either that, or them somehow telling Ichigo to bring Yuzu so he could break her chains
Kubo wasn't disappointed, he just said that he didn't feel his name should be in the credits, because he didn't do enough

Then again, that’s just an old theory and it doesn’t explain how a broken hollow mask could summon the gates to Hell or the whole ‘giant-hand-cutting-you-with-a-giant-knife’ BS in Season 1 but I like it.
I'm pretty sure it was explained in Season 1 regarding the Gates of Hell.
I recall him wanting Ulquorra and other espada to play a role but that doesn't say much without a source now does it.
M3rtyville I mean Aaroniero and Szayel were in hell so who knows
Fast forward a year later and bleach comes back with an arc focusing on hell
Watching this after the new one shot and arc announcement. Cant wait for Kubo to rewrite hell.
Oh and amazing video as always! Keep it up!
I freely admit that the movie is flawed... but I still find it fun to watch.
I mean chances are whatever Kubo had in mind maybe could have made the movie better in at least the plot sense. Maybe make things more coherent and fleshed out in the end probably.
This movie is flawed. But honestly it’s my favorite from all the Bleach ones.

You freaking liar you dont care about bleach at all. You are just a toxic shipper pasing as a bleach fan dont lie
😆🧐 bruh
@@bisexualichigo4227 am i lying?
Basically what happened was YUSUKE UREMESHI went to Demon world.
More like Seyia going to the Underworld
"this is the best bleach has ever looked"
Thousand Year blood war anime: "allow me to introduce myself"
Highly I think this would’ve been canon if kubo was able to do everything his way
This could have been an interesting arc between the fullbring arc and the quincy arc.
(Bounts, liberation of zapakutos etc ...)
That would be very interesting I think, as many people like to spit on them even thought they have good ideas and opportunities for characters interactions.
Go timing I am almost finish binge-watching all the filler
it's basically the plot of ghost rider 2 with extra steps
respect for putting azaka as kokutou's sister
Just coming back from the new bleach chapter
4:40 that detective conan reference tho👌
This is my favorite movie

And look where we're at now lol. Just saw your most recent video and I love it!
And the Hellverse Ichigo look is just.. yummy 😋
After the new chapter coming out I feel like Kubo is getting the hell verse we all want
The movie chapter foreshadowed the recent chapter holy crap
Vasto lorde nuking hell will always be legendary
I didn't see the movie yet but i do like you are honest both in the bad and good points, without overlooking either of them
The Ultimate Gambler Kaiji ost used in the video alone deserves a like from me, overall very nice video
Man, you sound like a professional documentary commenter
I’m not even subscribed to this channel and this was my most anticipated video of all time. Thank you for your hard work
The Conan gag was just perfect!
How did he see Ichigo vs Ulquiorra? maybe hell has a flat screen tv.
Whether kubo liked it or not I still watched this WAY to many times to be considered unhealthy I lived on this movie I LOVE THE HELL outta of it
I wish kokuto's betrayal was handled differently.
Not a bad idea
That would’ve been so much better in my eyes
Now that would've been a better use of Kokuto and it'll be cool for an arc during Ichigo's adulthood the guy is looking after a reborn Kokuto to make sure he lives a happy normal life, hell maybe something happens which forces Ichigo to full a Rukia and give Kokuto Shinigami powers giving him the power to protect would be cool to see his Zanpakutō spirit take the form of a human form of Kushinada like a skull clad version of sinner Kokuto
This was my favorite movie of all of Bleach. Memories of Nobody is a very close second.
This one was amazing simply just because of the hollow ichigo
It all comes full circle now🙏
Holy crap I remember this time quite thoroughly
And it's already 10 years ago...
in this movie you can see that Ichigo could be King of hell/ Soul king
this movie gaved me a great idead how this story can continue after Yachwart
Funny how this video is reccomended to me after the hell arc new ch
I felt Hell should've been a canon arc either taking place after The Arrancar Arc or the TYBWA
holy shit are u a future teller?
This was the first Bleach movie I watched and I remember loving it when I was younger.
My reasoning for why Kokuto was strong was because he was using the "unbreakable" chain as a crutch to battle with, which was cool. Why he was fast enough to fight Ichigo and found it just as easy even when he has only one chain left, Idk
Hell Verse should have been a TV arc given how it feels rushed and truncated. so great idea, nice moments, needs more polished and time
Great video! I’m excited for some more varied videos soon!
This was my favorite bleach movie
i watched this movie like a month ago and while yeah the writing is not up to snuff i still think its animation and music carry the whole thing and if the TYBW looks like this movie then there is a lot to look forward to
11:56 Byakuya's expression is just too hilarious.
His sister wasn't a sinner, nor she was old, so it was quite logical she would recover as soon as brought back.
Producer: What kind of-
Kubo: The enemies will be French themed! I mean I already have Spanish for the Hollows/Arrancar and German for the Quincy/Bounts.
Ahh the time has come
Edit: the funny thing about this type of stuff is.. even when you know its not the best you still find it enjoyable its like as long as you know it's bleach content at this point
“This was the most obvious plot twist in the history of plot twist.” made me laugh😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Great video! I like hellverse but plot holes and the other problems aside the animation is great, the fights are good, and the ost is one of the best soundtracks in the series. I would've really loved to have seen a hell arc in the manga it could've been awesome.
I don't recall Kubo saying that he was disappointed, only that he didn't do enough to be credited.
I love he'll verse. It's probably my favorite out of all of them
My favorite bleach movie. Back when i saw the trailer in 2010 i thought ulquiorra was coming back to play some sort of role in film. Film Has one of the best anime intros i seen.
Even with that this movie is my favourite and the OST is so good.
Well, not everyone in hell deserves to be there, and not everyone who should be there can't be trusted.
True
The best Bleach movie by far, easy
It'd be cool if we got a new movie when the anime comes back. Maybe about the first generation of the gotei 13
You are amazing man thank you so much for uploading bleach content
Kubo disappointed about the movie makes his own chapters about hell
Should of... Could of... been a trilogy! Maybe they will give this a thought on the next. If there is a next.
The soundtrack still BANGS.
People: confused
Other people: not bad
Me: good enough
The movie was beautiful as hell, and the first act was pretty good, but acts 2 and 3 are not all that good, beyond the power of cool.
Although I do feel that some hints that the kushenada (sp?) were trying to help Ichigo against the sinner would've made the movie make a lot more sense, along with possibly helping Yuzu's chains go away as she wouldn't be a proper sinner. Either that, or them somehow telling Ichigo to bring Yuzu so he could break her chains
