    That old dude couldn’t be more friendly and hospitable. Those prices are reasonable. Great place . Great owner!

    I like how you stood up from the table to shake Rich’s hand. Somebody taught you right.

      Great comment.., this older Gentleman is a bright light of his community. We are so at a loss of simple and proper values and manners among the younger generation these days that it's a delight to see proper respect is still alive, here and there.

    I love flying into Tampa and driving south to Everglades City just to go to City Seafood. We're from Minnesota and one day a decade ago we went out exploring southern Florida and that's how we found it. Been coming back ever since. We'll be back here again either in October or November 2024.

    There is something in the drinking water in Everglades City. Over the years, I have worked with a dozen life long residents of Everglades City. Everyone of them are either in prison or have been in prison, but it is a cool place.

      @@Dstrbrdgrnd Actually, several years ago we had the kind of winter that allowed a. good season and thats what I grabbed. As a girl fishing off my great aunts dock, we caught them and celebrated w. fried snook for the family…delicious. I am almost 80
      so that was before regulation and overfishing , and it was only their appearance to be caught at a fair size that mattered. 😉

    Charles Mereday used to live in Naples, Florida. He said it was very expensive to own a restaurant in Naples. I think he was more than $74,000 in debt.

      peanuts down here in Naples...74K is like a bar tab..!!

    • @KingsportMan
      @KingsportMan 2 роки тому

      @@charleschoffe3846 Charles Mereday's restaurant in Naples wasn't making money for him. He had no incentive to stay there. Many areas of Florida are expensive now. There's a place called The Villages in Sumter County, Florida. The average American can't afford to move to that place and retire. It wasn't as if Charles Mereday had millions of dollars in his bank account and could afford to keep living in Naples forever. Charles Mereday filed for bankruptcy in 2007. He owed $1.8 million in debts. He owed another $74,000 in debts after he moved to Naples. I think he finally moved to New York.

      @@KingsportMan Completely Understand you Brian, I am a working man myself. I grew up here in Collier County and all the rich folks from the mid-west and north east have been moving down in droves over the past 25-30 years and of course in Naples if you are west of US-41 ( Tamiami Trail ) the prices for real estate are off the grid man and yes, super expensive to reside here...Anyway, I love to head down to Goodland to Stan's Idle Hour, just a great bar & grill/chickee hut on the back water...then from there head to EGC...Anyway, Talk Soon Brother..!
