Great to see footage from this era. It looked so good with all the animatronics, audio and atmospheric lighting. I first went there with my family around 1994. I was five and I’m not sure what my parents were expecting but I remember going into the ‘Jack the Ripper’ scene and my dad hiding me in a corner and telling me to cover my ears because he thought it would traumatise me! Haha It seemed like a great attraction back then though.
THIS is the London Dungeon I wish to visit and hope that this eerie experience will return one day. The new one near Westminster looks too commercial and "modern" for my tastes. I prefer atmosphere and the walk through waxworks rather than actors.
@@EuroThemeParkArchive I’m now realising that the waxwork of the Boy with the newspaper, had audio in that section. The cat sound effects must had irritated the actors inside. I can never forget the audio of the woman from the house down to the people.
Don't get me wrong, don't mind it now with the actors in it etc But preferred when London Dungeons when it was a walkthrough with a ride in the 80's/90's..... I also just heard Flambards-Theme Park will be closing permanently with immediate effect. 😥
@@thecinematicmind Yea same here, although lke it showed in the video some were animatronics as well! And the 90's as well! Whereabouts you from my friend?
@@thecinematicmind You mean coming back to Brighton lol Where did you go, not been to Gatwick for a few years-last trip I did on a plane was to Heathrow to Lisbon last Spring!
That one is available on the owner’s own channel (ua-cam.com/video/uaiiiLYDyxg/v-deo.htmlsi=Le3ln8lycAbrQXLA), they just allowed us to put our sound mix on it but we don’t really do videos like that anymore

I’m guessing the Ripper hanging bit didn’t help on top of this.
That bit was added in 1997 as part of the big redesign of the Dungeon
@@thecinematicmindblimey! I don’t remember much, just being pretty scared! Haha
@@Rachael8989In the final version before closing there was a waxwork of Mary Jane Kelly before walking into the Ten Bells pub.

I feel genuinely indifferent to the current Dungeons. But my goodness I wished Merlin could do a Dungeons like it was in the 70’s.

Fascinating to see the first section of Jack The Ripper with that introduction and over the years how it got cut out.
It had even already been altered by this time with one of the scene narrations cut

I wished there was a new Dungeons that is similar to the first iteration in the 70’s to 80’s which is just waxworks and music.
