I remember visiting here back in 2014 in the early years of the studio and was wowed as a teen by the quality of the sets and the scale of the props. Went on Saturday. You say the tour lasts for three hours but committed Potter fans, and those who are fans of the technical side of film making, can easily spend 4 - 6 hours because it would take that long to study everything in detail as the number of exhibits is colossal. Our tour was booked for 2.30 - it took until 4.45 to get to the Back yard and cafe, which are perhaps a little more than halfway through. Definitely worth the money and a 'must see' attraction for all Potter fans.

I went back in June with my 2 youngest. We loved it, and all want to go back. I will say though, if you buy a Butter Beer at the Back Lot Cafe, don't forget to take your tankard home with you, it's included in the price and they have a washing station just outside so you can clean it before popping it into your bag 😊

I teach Media at a secondary school and have run trips there for about 6 years. Like the other comments they have added to it over the years so I enjoy every visit! From an educational point of view it’s amazing, they provide an amazing experience for students such as free hands on workshops and insights that make it special for the students. Very friendly staff too, fantastic place to visit 😊
Having been 14 times now and planning a 15th, I absolutely love the tour. Seeing it change over the years has been amazing, it was so different the first year it opened. I've learnt it's best to hang around in the Great Hall right up until the next group is getting ready to be allowed in, that way you can end up in a sort of middle bubble between groups that's way less busy and easier to see everything
oh wow, you will be the best person for me to ask a question then, so im in a wheelchair and i really dont like crowds so what day or time would you say is best to go
I'm only watching this now Tim. Omg looks amazing. I am going to start watching Harry Potter again now. Thanks so much for reminding me how amazing Harry Potter is. 🙂 And of course you are amazing too. Love watching you on UA-cam.
I’ve visited the studios 4 times and it still makes me as emotional every time we go as its always changing. I usually give it a good few years between visits so it has chance to adapt and add bits on. I absolutely love harry potter!
so sad this makes you emotional, really hope you find some meaning to your life because emotional over this fantasy world is just so sad. Please think today about the million of starving people in this world now that's emotional
I loved this video! You did a great job of showing us what the Harry Potter Studio Tour London is like and giving us your honest opinion. I’m a huge fan of Harry Potter and I’ve always wanted to visit the studio tour, but I was worried that it might be too crowded or too expensive. After watching your video, I think it’s still worth a visit, especially if you’re a Potterhead like me. It looks like such a magical experience and I would love to see all the props, sets, costumes, and behind-the-scenes secrets. Thank you for sharing your tips and insights with us! 😍😍😍
YES!!!! Visit it. I spent 6 hours soaking in every little thing. It is so amazing. The fact that you walk into the actual GREAT HALL is worth the trip alone!!!!
It’s changed a great deal since I went some 12 years ago. It was my birthday and I was invited up to open the doors to the great hall. I was 60 and so thrilled. Love the films, watched them again last week.
I’ve visited here twice. I can safely say on each occasion I was there a lot longer than 3 hours. First time we got there at 9am for a 9.15am tour, we left at 6pm to drive back to Edinburgh. Second time I went for Hogwarts in the snow. Got there for a 9.30 tour and left at 6.30pm. Can’t wait to go back.
There’s no actual time limit, they simply let you know it can take up to three hours if your taking your time. Like Tim I went through it all in an hour though understandably it’s a very rushed experience so I can understand many people want to get value for money and spend most the day at the studio though I had booked tickets for The Cursed Child the same day so didn’t want to spend too much time at this since I’d been before, I just wanted to check out all the new bits that have been added since the last time I went (I did the audio tour that time too). I highly recommend The Cursed Child if you’ve not seen it yet, it’s absolutely stunning.
I would also add that they are very accommodating if you have any specific needs. My son is very mildly autistic, nothing major. But certain things are not good for him which he can point out for himself at age 11. I contacted Harry Potter tour to ask a few questions regards the visit and they were superb and there was nothing they would no do to help.
We are going for my daughters birthday next Saturday. Can't wait. And I'm not a big potter fan. But she is. She dosent know she's going yet. Will be amazing to see her face
My sister and I are traveling to London and we have to see this during our stay. Thank you for the video this will add a new dimension to our visit. Can hardly wait.
I went to the studios in 2017 and they were still building the forbidden forest and Gringottts wasn't there but none the less it was amazing! I can't wait to go back! I've seen the films so many times but seeing the actual sets and the different props you see so many hidden details you never noticed. I didn't like the butterbeer though. This is my favourite vlog of yours so far 😅
I taught Harry’s school teacher to drive whilst they were filming Harry Potter, I also taught the nurse that worked at the studios too. I use to go to the studios to pick them up, the funny thing was that there were two nurses and they both had to drive just in case of an emergency because how big the place was. The nurse I taught said that her bosses thinks she can drive so I had to get her through her test very quickly lol. The teacher I was teaching got me a book signed by all three, I was lucky as they didn’t sign many as the demand was too much. It’s very strange because that studio use to be Rolls Royce and my father worked there many years ago before it became a studio.
We’ve been but in 2019. It was amazing and there’s SO much to see. Walking into gringots was actually breathtaking. My son is desperate to go back again.. there’s newer stuff since we last went.
Thank you Tim for another wonderful video.Appreciate your work so very much . sincerely hope you and gabby have the best Valentine’s Day and God bless your family …from your devoted fan in America
If you are into set pieces and general exploration about how they made Hogwarts and the wider wizarding world looked I really recommend it, genuine impressive stuff going on there. For the more 'casual' (I say that in a non offensive way) this may not be for you, while for the die hard Harry Potter being able to claim you been here might be just what you are looking for. For those interested in the more details aspect of film making while I say this isnt a big one to tick off the list, if you find yourself needing to do something it can be a pretty fun day. Sure if that doesn't interest you that's fine this isnt for everyone, but if it does i'd say go for it.
Till now there is no such movie like Harry Potter that I can watch 10000000times and feel bad thinking it ended . This is childhood . I mean no such movie exist like Harry Potter
Finally made ot to Harry Potter Studios yesterday, absolutely magical, we went in not knowing what to expect and there was so many highlights, the staff were so friendly as well. Well worth going to and definitely going back again.
I remember visiting this place over 10 years ago (2012). It has certainly changed to what you've just shown on here. I remember the outdoor area, the great hall, the castle display, the alley. But yeah, they didn't have Gringotts or the Forest at the time. Shows how much has changed. But I remember that they had two photo sets. One was being in the Flying Car and the other on a broomstick, and there would be a green screen behind it so they could add a background to it. I remember seeing the screen for the broomstick and saw myself flying towards the camera to pose for a photo. And of course, for treat, I brought and still have Sirius Black's wand. It just had a unique pattern on it. Glad I picked it.
I went around the same time and yea theres deffently alot of things that are new. i sorta remember after the outside bit there wasnt that much more to see apaprt from the modle of the castle and the porop room but now they have the bank and the vaults and i even think the forest is new.
Universal Studios Florida would do extremely well taking a cue from this touring attraction and add one of their own where the visitor travels through these sets. No animatronics needed; simply a full immersion into the movies' world. Thank you for making this video.
I've never been into Harry Potter and always likened it to 'The Worst Witch', of which my kids seemed to love. However, the tour looks breathtaking indeed. Cheers, Tim! 👍
I've been three times: first time, not long after it first opened; second time, when they'd added the Forbidden Forest; last time, for Hogwarts in the Snow (and amazing Gringott's!) I"ll definitely go back again- I'm hoping they'll add Knockturn Alley at some point, which will definitely prompt me to revisit.
This is a great place to visit especially if your a fan of Harry Potter (which I am). I took my son there for his birthday but, that was around 10 years ago. They’ve added so much since I’ve been. Would like to go again now. Thanks for the video Tim. Gets a definite thumbs up from me 😊
The bank lobby room is exactly like the one on Escape from Gringotts Queue at Universal in Florida. The goblins are all animatronics there though moving so it’s better.
I’ve been there when I was in England - it’s amazing I highly recommend it! The house was not open when I went back in 2014/2015 so I’m happy to see the inside now.
I went to the harry potter studios in London today, and honestly one of the best experiences ever. All the staff are wonderfully nice, some things are expensive but are totally worth it as you will likely never experience something like it again or find anywhere else to get these things. I say as a true Potterhead I give it a complete 10/10. I highly recommend going if you or your children are into harry potter, or even if you're not into harry potter, you still have just as much fun as a time! It obviously can be very crowded at times, but you get to wonder around the tour so you get some space to take pictures. Lunchtime can be very busy, but the butter beer is amazing. If it's sunny it is wonderful to sit outside. And even if it isn't so sunny they have a canopy over the tables. Overall I would love to go again. Thanks for reading, bye!
How far in advance did you book the tickets? I’m going to London in 3 weeks and I’m distraught to find out bookings are sold out. First time going from halfway across the world, probably won’t have another chance to be back 💔
@@emilywoodward7336 that makes sense! I went wallowing elsewhere on the internet and another kind person mentioned I could still try booking a tour through a 3rd party agency and I managed to find one on the dates that I’m going. Obviously a bit more expensive but worth it for me since tickets alone through their website are sold out. I’m just not familiar with how busy it gets there around the summertime everything needs advanced booking 😮💨
@WalkWithMeTim hey Tim! (Sorry If you said it and probably I missed it) Can you tell me the price per Adult how much it was ? I'm dollars and in euros? Thanks!
@@BB-xn1rw a free English breakfast. Roped off free butter beer some free pictures and get to cut in line in front of everyone. And go through as many times as you want
Selling Butter beer by the entrance would likely put people off buying it at the half way point when you are meant to. keeping standard drinks at the front increases the chance of a double sale. Just my theory.
I've never been into Harry Potter (only ever seen the 1st film!) But I have to say this looks pretty good, with a lot of detail. So if I'm in a situation where I HAVE to go, at least I know I'll probably enjoy it! Thanks, Tim - great mini tour!
Thanks for this, Tim - I went to Harry Potter World in November last year, for the Christmas themed experience, and it was lovely to see some of the changes they've made since then. It's an amazing place, in my opinion. Really impressed by the crafting, technology, art and love that goes into making the HP franchise so powerful. Looks like they're getting ready for the Easter holidays with that chocolate themed feast! :)
If you have the means, I HIGHLY recommend the VIP tour. It was worth it!!! You get to see and hear about SO many things that others don't, plus you get to go through a second time one the guided tour is over (of course I did and spent another few hours there 😅)
I love movies where CGI and actual decors blend in so perfectly. That is why the HP films and the LOTR trilogy are some of my favorite. With the boom of the CGI movies technology in the 2010 some of the movie magic is lost to me. You need a huge stadium room with green screen and basically you can be anywhere. I get that the shots are impressive but I still think that HP and LOTR are more impressive because many hours were spent to make the decors and props just the right way to receive the maximum visual effect and awe from the audience
We went back in 2018 for my daughters birthday and she had the butter beer .It was a great experience walking around. I know more has been added since we went.
I went in Jan 2024, I think you need to visit twice to get it all in. Once was good but I didn't have time to see everything. Enjoyed it and would recommend it, although items in gift shop were very expensive, a simple plain small wrist watch was 60 pounds. A wand averages between 36 and 50 odd.
went 2 times last year, a good day out but way overpriced inside, top tip for you the early start tours are always booked up and you may only get an afternoon tour start time but you can still turn up at the same time as the 1st tour start time of 10 am and most likely will still let you start early with everyone else.
the last time I went was in 2018 and there were so many renovations and additions, of course, I'm gonna go back. also at 3:34, those are actually the taps for the bubble bath liquid dispensary in the prefect's bathroom.
Another brilliant vlog Tim. I’ve visited the tour before and you’ve uncovered things I didn’t even know about, so I’ll definitely be returning. Also worth pointing out, if you are in the city of Exeter, there are some interesting areas of the city where J.K Rowling took inspiration for the books when she was studying at university. Gandy Street is one great location with a Harry Potter themed bar and their branch of H. Samuel has a very familiar fireplace inside. Take a look at some of the relevance between Exeter and what are in the movies, it’s unreal. Also they do sometimes offer Harry Potter themed tours for adults.
My first visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour was back in 2015 when the iconic steam engine🚂 Hogwarts Express official opened and it was so amazing to see everything from the movies and I hope 🤞 to visit again sometime soon thanks for sharing this 👍❤️
Thank you. This has to be the best review for the studios. My 7yr old has recently become a die hard fan of Harry Potter. Just thinking to take him this year or next year. This review really helps.

First time going from halfway across the world, probably won’t have another chance to be back 💔
@@lou4169 I booked about 2 months in advance, you may still be able to get a booking slot but is unlikely
@@lou4169 that's good! Hope you have a lovely time
@@emilywoodward7336 thank you! 🙏🏼
Enjoyed this vlog, even more so when I saw myself & my hubby having afternoon tea in the background 😁
Love that!
@WalkWithMeTim hey Tim! (Sorry If you said it and probably I missed it)
Can you tell me the price per Adult how much it was ? I'm dollars and in euros? Thanks!
My wife and I went there it was the most magical place spent the whole day. Got vip packages for her birthday :)
We got tickets already for next month, what was the vip package?
Well you need to watch the 2nd film the 3rd 4th 5th 6th and 7th you don't know what your missing.
If you ever have a notion, the series matures a lot and gets much darker as the kids age. You really can't judge it at all on the first movie.
Read the books, and then watch the films.
Sounds great!
Important question because you mentioned the Christmas theme: is the studio different during Christmas?? I’m going on the 27th of December
Yes but it's a lovely time to visit. @@PercyNotAble
This is one reason I wanna visit London some day
@@dustinsensenig9798 Technically, it's not in London 😉
Next time you go, dress up. When I did that one of the employees videoed the inside of Weasly's Wizard Wheezes! It was so cool! 🤩
Loved this so much I decided to watch all the movies. I had only ever watched the first one. I’m currently on the 4th movie now. Thanks for visiting.
I’ve decided that when I go to the UK someday, I’ll visit there!
If you have the means, I HIGHLY recommend the VIP tour. It was worth it!!! You get to see and hear about SO many things that others don't, plus you get to go through a second time one the guided tour is over (of course I did and spent another few hours there 😅)
This looks absolutely amazing I can’t wait to go in July-august time for my late birthday 👀😁😁😁
I got chills when I saw the acromantulas
Thanks Tim this was great and enjoyable look forward to the next Yvonne 😊
I love movies where CGI and actual decors blend in so perfectly. That is why the HP films and the LOTR trilogy are some of my favorite.
With the boom of the CGI movies technology in the 2010 some of the movie magic is lost to me. You need a huge stadium room with green screen and basically you can be anywhere. I get that the shots are impressive but I still think that HP and LOTR are more impressive because many hours were spent to make the decors and props just the right way to receive the maximum visual effect and awe from the audience
WOWO Some amazing reasons to visit London Definitely thumbs up for you😄😃
Thanks for liking
Harry Potter is the most amazing movie series ever in love with it ❤ this is a must visit!🎉
We went back in 2018 for my daughters birthday and she had the butter beer .It was a great experience walking around. I know more has been added since we went.
I went when it first opened in 2012. Many years ago with friends bunking off school. Would love to visit again someday
Very awesome video. I live near Orlando and have been to the Wizarding world of Harry Potter Universal Studios. It’s a great experience!
Absolutely love harry potter and can't wait to finally take my family there 😁
the last time I went was in 2018 and there were so many renovations and additions, of course, I'm gonna go back. also at 3:34, those are actually the taps for the bubble bath liquid dispensary in the prefect's bathroom.
I’ve been there before. It is absolutely worth the money and it is so beautiful to get a look at the sets and outfits close up! ⚡️
Wow! All that really exist! It's at the same time surprising and stunning!😮😮😮😮
I went about 8 or 9 years ago and its changed soo much since i went. think i might have to revisit it some day.
I've stopped watching after 2 and half mins as don't want to spoil the surprise in person. My boys would love this! ❤ great inspiration for creativity
My first visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour was back in 2015 when the iconic steam engine🚂 Hogwarts Express official opened and it was so amazing to see everything from the movies and I hope 🤞 to visit again sometime soon thanks for sharing this 👍❤️
I managed to spend almost a whole day here. Went in my Slytherin robes and everything. Great place!
That is awesome!
I went years ago. Absolutely amazing. Perfect 4 all Harry Potter fans.
and non .. I enjoyed It and not a massive fan lol
This place looks so cool! I can't wait to go over to London to see this!!! I'm a huge Harry Potter fan!
Fun fact, Diagon Alley was based on a street in Exeter called Gandy Street.
Totally amazing place 🎉🎉❤ thank you for the tour! ❤❤
That was fabulous!!!! I'm a big Harry Potter fan, so thank you!!!!
Loved your Harry Potter video Tim,waiting for Friday to see your next video
It's definitely worth to visit. We have been there 2 times from Finland😀
Wow
'' dobby is happy to be with his friend ... tim ''
I've been there three times!! My favourite time was just before Christmas! It is beautiful!! X
Thank you. This has to be the best review for the studios. My 7yr old has recently become a die hard fan of Harry Potter. Just thinking to take him this year or next year. This review really helps.
3:29 it's actually the taps in the 4th movie for the prefect bath
Thank you so very much Tim for your video/walk around the Harry Potter studio tour it looks absolutely amazing!
My close friend 👩🏻🤝👨🏼 & I both really love all the Harry Potter films and we have said for years now that we want to go to this but watching your video I now really want to go but not when it’s packed full of people!
I would spend ages looking round I’m sure of that!
Thanks Jay
Thanks jay
Loved this vlogg. Im really glad those spiders didnt jump out at you. I hate them too.
Something else on my bucket list. I'm back at the end of June. Best I start hoarding my pennies in earnest. Thanks for the tour. Cheers 🤓👍
Have fun!
