- Until Sept. 30, 2016, this beautiful clock stood above the front entrance to the Sogo department store outside the east exit of JR Kashiwa Station in Tokyo (well...Kashiwa, Chiba to be exact). :-) The song is "It's a Small World."

Kashiwa Karakuri Clock has been abolished 10 years ago this year. I remembered watching this video. Thank you for your precious videos.

@@muhammadfaizemirsyahyusuf5621 You can still see it at Sogo Taiwan. However unfortunately the ones in Japan has long ago been abolished and now only strikes the hours. It no longer chimes "It's A Small World".

I meant the clock is still there but it no longer does the performance, it's just a normal clock now. The ones in Taiwan still work though

I don't believe either of them are actual "songs".... but just short introductory melodies while the clock windows open up before the "It's a Small World" song starts.

I don't recall the Sogo logo ever being visible near the clock, but it can be clearly seen above the store's front entrance at the very end of this video...

English translation: Sure. It came to be. Because it's an old type (clock), neither the numbers "6" nor "8" turn around.
I just Figured out what motor they use for the dolls. I just really can’t believe they use a stepper motor For the doll. I mean like normally I think that a stepper motor is really weak
It actually isn't a motor driving the dolls' movements, but rather a series of tubes in which connect to different holes contolling different parts of the doll. The actual equilateral panel uses a motor to turn it.

@@crobrunner7030 Yes, panels 6, 7, & 8 did not open due to the position of the hour hand at 7:00. However, I'm guessing that those 3 panels opened up between 10:00 and 4:00, when the hour hand would not be in the way...
But it is a twelve o clock 22 panels are open
@@crobrunner7030 Yes, that sounds right. Perhaps an internet image search for this clock would reveal the panels that were open/closed at different times of the day. I only saw it once, at 7 pm 15 years ago... 🙂

@@brenwenminseiko made the clock. Tokyo Disneyland had a contract with sogo and presumably seiko that allowed sogo to use the small world dolls and music in their stores as a way to promote sogo and Tokyo Disneyland.
