Jordan well maybe the first Arab nation to which the women are encouraged to go for their goals in society, in this case, the Jordan Princess has spearheaded to joining in the RJAF and promoting kingdom women to go for their dreams.
Historically, Jordan probably has been the only, if I’m not mistaken, nation that has been had strong tie with the West and Europe for much of second half of last century and some of their heirs are still living there. Of course, we the West love to see that strong influence in turn creating stronger society and stability in the region !

I have no idea where my soft spot for Jordan comes from but it may have begun many hears ago watching and reading news of King Hussein and his family, then later reading his autobiography. This is a modern royal family with a country seemingly embracing the 21st century.

King Abdullah is a great asset to Jordan, being more open and giving opportunities to everyone.
You have no idea how they neglect their citizens and what struggle the general public lives through. I'm married to a Jordanian and lived there for a few years and it was astounding how neglected the place was. In their cities they have garbage piles near the city centres. They literally have no system for waste management. At least not an implemented one. Tiny country smaller than some cities in the world. It' not hard to fix the place truly develop it if the king really cared. But they are so detached from the lives and problems of the general public. These girls qualify on legacy seats. There is no recognition of merit there in any department, it's about which family name/tribe you are from and that's it.. Another intersting thing was that Jordan had no middle class. There is the elite and there is the rest of the country. Literacy rate is above 90%, but the lack of opportunity is painful to watch. And the Jordanian currency's value is higher than the US dollar to ensure people live hand to mouth and never get the chance to demand change or even develop awareness of the difference between real democracy and this kind of controlled monarchy based artificial one.
