- Paley Front Row presented by Citi (2021). Stars and creatives of Hulu's "Love, Victor" (Michael Cimino, Ana Ortiz, George Sear, Isaac Aptaker, Elizabeth Berger, and Brian Tanen) gather with moderator Jim Halterman to celebrate their show. Topics include: why producers were initially reluctant to OK a spinoff of their 2018 hit film "Love, Simon"; the decision to have the new lead be Latino; how the show was targeted for Disney+ but ended up on Hulu; the choice to cap the first season with Victor declaring that he's gay; Ortiz's change of pace from playing the accepting mother of a gay teen in "Ugly Betty" to portraying a mother troubled by her son's sexuality; Tanen's joy in contributing stories from his own coming out to those in the writers' room; and if the show will become more graphic as its teenaged protagonists mature.

Got to screen the second season early. Wonderful work by everyone involved. Really big kudos to Michael and Ana for their incredible on-screen depiction of a struggling mother and son bond. Now let's renew for season 3 and give us more than 10 episodes next year!!

When Benji says at the cabin ,"This is new for me too". But he won't finish the sentence. He had been gay and out but hadn't been really in love. Head over heels kind...Next morning he admits he is in love when he replies to Victor," Of course I do". A pinnacle moment in my book!

Just... WOW. These people are my heroes. I can't imagine a better cast and writers. I got a little teary-eyed watching this, partly because I'm so obsessed with this show and the anticipation of season 2 is so intense. Kudos to Jim for asking such great questions. Only one more day before season 2 and I'm counting the hours.

@@criticalthinker6827 שלוםםםםםםםם Thanks I'v looked it up, in Israel 🇮🇱 it's like twice that amount (if you know otherwise please be a darling & add a link 🙏🥰) but also I don't know if it's relevant cause I don't watch series, deffo not netflix, only an occasional Turkish rom com or re runs of older nostalgic shows & mostly doco & informative, Autodidactive stuff & I'm older & don't know if Hulu has content for an older crowd I just realy love the CAST in this specific show & am a huuuuge LGBTTTQ supporter due to a lot of reasons (identify as Demisexual Biromantic Sexualy Straight) & think the world of these writers as an aspired screenplays writer myself. I would love a Sincerely, Raheem spin off and get to see more of the complex issues in the Muslim community in the South. And the season could run back to back so we aren’t rabid for more content.

I would say it is not just about being brave in the past, but also having safe spaces! Many of them would not have been safe even if they were brave.

When I first watched the show I was so intrigued by the fact that it wasn't the same old same old parent situation. In most other lgbtq or even regular romance shows/movies, the father is always the issue and the problem starter (or alcoholic). Its really refreshing seeing the inverse for a change. In the show the father is the role model and does an excellent job dealing with his son coming out, while the mother is cruel and unaccepting, and hiding an affair. Its nice seeing this type of issue being addressed, and it adds a lot of interesting material to watch.

I have questions for Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker.
I love Ana Ortiz she was the second lead of the show. And I'm a fan of Rahim and pulling for him .. I think to continue with the Victor Benji romance would be a little dull unless its a love triangle...torn be two or three lovers would be nice more realistic take for someone as cute and inexperienced as Victor.

@@janmartenlocher I hope that Venji are endgame but I think that as hard as it would be to watch for some, Victor should probably get into a relationship with Rahim next series because I think it would be good for him in discovering that no matter what, issues will come up and he needs to learn deal with them with better and more open communication and empathy.
As this is hopefully going to be a series that lasts for good more seasons, Victor will have to experience different relationships with a few other guys at least but still maintain a connection to Benji that gets stronger as they grow as characters so while there is excitement and fawning over Rahim, I'm not that bothered either way as he is a nice enough person however in the long run I want to see Victor and Benji be the couple that ends the show.
