- The last meeting between these teams to open the season. A close game nearly featuring a huge comeback by Cleveland, this one is most memorable for Antonio Brown kicking a helpless punter in the face at 43:39.
I remember watching this game as if it were literally yesterday.

38:38 that touchdown pass is vintage Roethlisberger. Ben in his prime, perfect execution under defensive duress. If I had to pick one play to sum up Ben Roethlisberger’s career, it might be that one. Todd Haley brought out the best in Ben. He allowed Ben to be Ben but with much better fundamentals and execution.

I thought LeGarrette Blount did alright for himself when he was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, personally.
The Le'Veon Bell, Sr./LeGarrette Blount tandem would be a great idea for my football team if I were to make one from scratch, in my opinion.
Man Leveon is such a unique running back.. honestly if he was with us last year we probably would have made the playoffs.. crazy to think at one point of the season we were like 8-5

This was the first game that Laveon Bell looked/played like a true superstar RB in the NFL. He dropped weight from 2013 and came out leaner and meaner and we all were just like "holy shit man, this guy is legit".
This team was on it’s way to being one of the greats teams in NFL history. Ben, Brown and Bell were the new triplets . Man what could have been.
Our defenses were so bad and as you see Troy and Ike were at the end of their careers

Dan Fouts said it , nobody in the history of the league does/did it better than Ben when under pressure in the pocket to escape and throw the ball accurately on the move. Usually with defenders hanging off him.

It's more complicated than that. He had really started to fall off by late season when other teams got film on him, faced better defenses and the oline had some big injuries. A lot of guys can be that guy for a half season and then just are a run of the mill backup the rest of their careers.

It truly truly did. Jarvis Jones Burns Golson really screwed us
That 2013 and 2014 defense was atrocious. Had an old slow Polamalu, Keisel, had Jarvis bust Jones as a pass rusher, Ziggy Hood *BARF* who teams game planned to run on because he couldnt stop it. McClendon as a NT who got blown backwards repeatedly. It was bad times for our defense.
@@nick56677 the only good things of those Defense were Lawrence Timmons, Cam Heyward, Troy was good in 2013 and Jason Worilds.

Aaah, the infamous game with the Antonio Brown kick on Spencer Lanning. I remember the NFL Network guys defended Brown. Trying to say he tried to jump over Lanning and failed.

This 2014 Steelers team had a lot of potential, but our secondary was the biggest and most obvious criprenite for the team.
It's still consider a disappointing season at 11-5 AFC North Champion where they lost to # 6 seed at home vs Ravens 30-17..
