the CEN and the WR8 are 1/8th scale RCs with 10th scale parts. I loved my WR8 for sure. it was the most fun RC i ever had.
I'd be very interested in hearing more about the bead lock wheels. The biggest pain point for the WR8 (and there aren't many!) is the lack of wheel/tire availability other than the knockoff sets in the same stock pattern. Would love to be able to reuse a nice looking wheel or more tarmac specific tires.

@sparetimerc I see you are starting to get the on-road bug😊 The WR8 is so addictive. HPI really has something with that car. Hoping the Rally1 can even come close to the excitement I have with the WR8.

Nice Video! I own my first ever RTR as well being new to the community. Had my HPI WX8 Flux for 3 days and my god i' am such a HAPPY CAMPER. i got a 3s 5600 11.1v 60cc and it handles such a beast! any future recommendations for parts or upgrades? thank y'all and Shred ON! 😎
@thegreatnexus4207 That WR8 for me is perfect. Other than these wheels and tires, I've left it stock. Even the same goes for the first one I own, only the wheels and tires. I'm a if it ain't broke don't fix it guy 😊

@SoldierBoy3064 I don't think it will be their last on this platform. I know Traction Hobby/KM is coming out with a Porsche on the same platform they had the Citroen Rally. Not sure on release date.
Wr8 is a 1/8 buggy with shorter arms, the central diff really change the game.
Only thing that i wished was a hobbywing esc on that instread of the rebranded castle creation
@enricomiceli5517 The WR8 is base on a MT chassis. It's based on the Bullet ST and MT with shorter arms. The original (Ken Block/Ford Fiesta body) used a rebranded castle system. The latest (Subaru body) uses rebranded Hobbywing power system. It's a rebranded HW Quicrun system. Either way I love it.
The HoBao hyper GT ( rally ) is also an 8 scale GT rally car , which also has centre differential , swing arm height adjustable , droop screws , adjustments for camber , toe , anti roll bars , adjustable suspension with screw down coil adjusters , body height adjusters etc . Obviously not every one knows that the HoBao Hyper GT is a rally car , HoBao clearly states it is a GT ( rally ) car , with damn fine :build quality at that , with beautiful machined CNC 7075 shock towers and chassis . You can also upgrade the centre differential top plate to alloy if you so wish , but for a road GT rally car this is not essential , even though the HPI WR8 has a metal top plate for the centre differential . The HPI WR8 shock towers are also a rougher quality metal not having the quality of the CNC machined alloy shock towers that the HoBao GT has . The HoBao GT rally also has more alround adjustable tuning straight out of the box than the bog standard HPI WR8 FLUX straight out of the box . You obviously have to change the HoBao's slick road tyres to road / rally tyres if you want rally tyres on the HoBao of course . The HoBao hyper GT ( rally ) makes for a damn fine RC rally GT car at that too . I have both cars , as i can't choose just one and not have the other of course 🤣 🤣 🤣 .
@ianjohnhorwood2605 I'm having a case of Deja vu😆 I responded to this comment and it came back, strange🤔 Hobao Hyper GT looks like a great car. I mentioned this in the previous reply, I own the Ofna GTP2 which was nitro and converted to electric then to rally. I consider that rally too but the purist will think otherwise when it comes to scale. I mention the GTP2 even though it is an older design, very close to the Hyper GT. Both great design and solid contenders.
are the rear body shell piller mounts non flex and sturdy , or do they flex too much like a rubbery plastic , that was shown on another review ? .
@ianjohnhorwood2605 Check out my first look video, CEN Racing provides the fix with these first shipments. For the influencers that got them on pre-release, not sure if all of them got the fix but I saw Amain show the fix being applied too.

Can you tell if those rear bumper pillars on the CEN, will line up perfectly to the holes of the HPI read shock tower? Im looking to get that body on the HPI chassis.
@@edwardcruz1083 Thank you for the support. Nope will not line up, you will need to drill new holes in the front and rear. But the body set I see on HRP, it looks like the holes are not predrilled.
@@ReadySetRC oh I wasn't referring to the body holes. I was referring to that rear post intended to keep the Ford body from getting folded into the rear tires. From the video it appears to be mounted to the rear shock tower, parallel to the chassis. Will that post mount nicely onto the WR8?
@@edwardcruz1083 That rear bumper may work but the problem will be the WR8 since those screw holes are designed for the chassis brace. If you line the body up right you shouldn't need it but worse case you could trim the body a bit to prevent it and/or stiffen up the body in that area with some drywall tape and shoegoo.
There's a guy on Reddit that has had his Puma pretty much implode, literally most moving parts (including eventually the motor) failing after what he claimed to be light use. I don't know if he's abusing the thing and just understating that in his posts, but it put me off it. Probably will get a WR8 since it seems more proven, but how have you found the Puma after beating on it?
@XJR15ftw Sounds like the viewer that commented on my first video. I've put two packs in it. 2S and 3S, no issues. 2S run is up on the channel. The only thing I found the back does not break out on 2S and 3S. Handles like it's on rails. On my rally's I like the rear to bee a little loose. I got a shootout coming soon. Let's see how it sizes up.

Yeah those miniaturized pirelli p-zeros grip a lot, if I were to get one I'd switch out for gravel tires and it'll probably fix that.

Shame it looks pretty beefy , 17 mm shocks 4 mm shafts basically a 1/8 buggy platform
