Kinda hard to consider your opinion when you exaggerate and make gross suggestions. I don't think she registers for the worst human and a smart woman wouldn't be licking anything as if that is her place. I listened to this and could tell there was a history prior to final cut. It was a combination of a man who is a total scatter brain talking 100 miles an hour and probably too eccentric to communicate on such a public platform with a young inexperienced interviewer who was not mature enough to appreciate the genius buried deep in this man's soul. She lost total control of the interview from go and tried desperately to redirect him. It's that redirecting tone that seems rude or impolite, but I can tell she is simply exasperated. He isn't respecting her role and is making everything harder for her by rambling and not answering her questions. This conversation was not appropriate for a short interview spot. Anyone else, but not Wozniak. Wozniak is way too deep and eccentric and excitable and needed an interviewer that balanced his energy. Just plain inexperience on the interviewer and who ever booked the spot.
I understand your perspective. My opinion comes from working as a journalist/writer/assistant for 13 years prior to changing careers. I have seen this sort of interviewer/interviewee dynamic. Even Oprah and Barbara Walters have done it, but not easily spotted because they are for the most part successful in redirecting when an interview goes off track without seeming jerky. Being famous doesn't hurt either; because rudeness is overlooked. However, I find that male interviewers can get away with far more blatant rudeness and its chalked up to acceptable behavior (like Piers Morgan, Howard Stern, Bill O Reilly, Dennis Miller, Dr. Phil, Carson Daly, Bill Maher, Adam Corolla, Geraldo Rivera). When I researched some of their interviews I was struck by the fact that their charm and celebrity glossed over their rude behavior. I don't mean this as a man vs. woman thing because like I said I saw it with famous women interviewers. The point I was trying to make is that what seems to be rude behavior (as if the person is a jerk), is more about tension in losing control of an interview and being frustrated being unable to redirect the person being interviewed to go back on topic, stop wandering conversation, stop repeating information, and to answer the questions. If anything, she was tense and frustrated and resorting to irritable posture. I am sure Wozniak is well aware he drives some people crazy. He is a brilliant man, but not without faults of his own that make interviewing him a challenge. That is why I said the problem for me was pairing Wozniak with a young reporter/journalist who didn't seem to know how to gain control of the segment. This should have been edited instead of running on cold turkey. So we saw it all. I could tell they had rehearsed before hand based on conversation or he knew the questions in advance. He just chose to make vague responses and wandered off topic and in some cases backtracked and make contradictory comments. He wasn't lying, rather what he had to say was too complex to sum up. This was a short segment and not available for an in-depth discussion. The interviewer just didn't know how to deal with that and unfortunately failed.
I understand this as I've done some journalism work in the past, but the bottom line is if you can't maintain your cool with someone, then you shouldn't be the one interviewing. Furthermore, portions of the interview seemed intentionally leading. I think the source of her frustration wasn't actually from any derailment that was occurring, but because Wozniak wasn't providing "sexy" answers. His answers were complicated, holistic and very cautious. When he was provocative it was in a way that would hardly give a rise to anyone watching, who wasn't already intellectually invested in the subject. I understand that journalist need to do what they need to do for good media. But this criticism is the price they pay. Just like every profession, you do things you know is a little scummy in the hopes to have it payoff. Seeing that Wozniak never took the bait (if he was even able to take bait), made her failure even more glaring.

You get an interview with a legend of our time, and a chance to hear something truly interesting and what do you do? "Tell me something trivial. I only want to discuss hype and talking points, or otherwise I'll stop you and ask more silly questions. Besides I don't understand what you're talking about because I'm a pop journalist" This lady, her producer and staff don't care about reality. They just want the fake "inside story" "Larry Ellison said..." Yeah, Larry Ellison has said a lot of things. Apple will be fine if the right people are there. That's it. Btw, one thing that Steve Jobs did very well was attract great people. He alienated quite a few too. When Jobs returned to Apple, one of the first things he said was he wanted the company to be more "egalitarian". In some ways Jobs is most responsible for changing and modernizing the corporate environment. You see it in companies everywhere.
Jobs was bitter his entire life because of abandonment issues after finding out his real parents didn't want him, so they put him up for adoption. He was also spoiled rotten by his adoptive parents, he literally got his way his entire life, and if he didn't he would cry and pitch a fit, even after founding Apple.
Hearing Woz elaborate is much like watching a kid in a candy store. He's just ecstatic to share the story of the birth of Apple with such an air of humility that you don't often see.
I feel the interviewer's technique and general behaviour, is offensive. She's got the luxury of interviewing a very important man in the history of technology, and she's interrupting him all the time. Very offensive.
Woz is just one of the purest souls and kindest people I've ever seen. It's remarkable that the other Steve was so much the opposite. Maybe they really needed each other to make this thing work.
She needs to stop interruption woz like serious this man is one of the entrepreneurs. This lady doesn't care what steve has to say she was just "following" the script. This interviewer sucks!
"yes yes yes shes a horrible interviewer, "we know that story very well". But what do you think about Steve Jobs in the movie." She still works for them... no idea how.
That interviewer is so *weird* ! She seems to think that since Steve Jobs made Apple what it is, then we should lie and present everything about him in a revisionist way so as to please who knows who's ego, like if he should be considered as some pagan God... To the point of trying to bully Wozniac just to defend such image, or make him feel uncomfortable and even guilty about stating the truth... She's totally *IMMATURE* as much as she doesn't seem able to handle historical truth without being emotive about it. And I guess it's the same thing for those who made the movies (probably funded by Apple, undoubtedly without even consulting those who were close to Jobs). That crazy attitude seems to be from a lady who works for the movie marketing team, NOT for the viewers. This is so childish, a very, *vey weak* cultural mentality...
I can't believe how rude this woman was to this nice man. Constant interuptions, talking over him, trying to catch him in a contradiction that he didn't make because she wouldn't shut her mouth enough to actually listen and keep track of the conversation. Horrible.
Apple is simple as Steve Jobs was the visionary And Steve Wozniak the one that made those visions real Both were equally important Without Wozniak, Jobs wouldn't have created anything, and without Jobs, Wozniak wouldn't have something to create Both were complementary for Apple
It's not only Woz, but all the engineers who have worked at Apple after Woz left. A dream is just a dream, until other people figure out ways to make the dream come true. Job was a cunning psychopath, who was able to and have succesfully made others, high-tech people, to turn his dream into reality. But his dream wasnt about the humanity or community, his dream was to make his name into history and the all that wealth, fame, and power. Without him, the world would still be fine, for he's not the only fascinated-by-tech boy who had those visions or dreams, many did and have done. But, he was the most lucky one with the right connections, especially with Woz to start with, when he still didnt have jack. Once you have money, it's much easier to recruit talents to work for you. Woz have created many things before meeting Jobs and after leaving Apple, he's a doer not just a preacher like Jobs, I think you're quite misconcepted and lost here.
the interviewer here just kept interrupting him and trying to push him to talk crap about Steve Jobs or Apple or the movie. useless interview. let Woz talk!
Woz is a class act. He is a gentleman with obstinate interviewers and is very mindful to give credit where credit is due across the board for Apple. He lifts people up without tearing down his old friend Steve Jobs. Broadcast interviewers, and producers want a gladiator match for the Colosseum of viewers. They don't understand that gladiators don't build computers or write music. She would have done a great interview of the late Macho Man, Randy Savage, RIP. Perhaps a movie will be made about him, and she can interview Hulk Hogan.
I just love how Steve is just nerding out rotating all over the place with all the information shooting trough his head, kinda reminds me of a coworker i used to chill with who was constantly talking with me about programming and stuff.
“We saw it go up when Steve jobs and then go down without Steve jobs. It went up when Steve jobs came back then he DIED and now it’s gone down” Woz has the most patience for hearing that.
For 6 weeks I tried in vain to get my Apple dealer to supply me with the tech manual I needed to program my IIe. I called Apple HQ and asked for Steve Wozniac not really expecting to be able to get through. I was immediately connected to The Woz. I assumed he was the CEO sitting in a big assed office. After explaining my difficulty with getting the manual he said "well actually I'm just an engineer here. But that does sound like a problem". A few days later the dealer called me to let me know he had the manual in stock. When the Macintosh came out a lot of Apple IIe owners, including me, were extremely pissed off that Apple had left them with no upgrade path for their substantial investments in the Apple II series. Some of us swore we'd never entertain buying another Apple product again. Never. For me that remains true up to now.
The movie was entertaining. But the movie was, aside for being about Apple and Steve Jobs, about Ashton Kutcher. Most of the cast are not that attractive, and only make him look better. I don't think Steve Jobs was quite the prick they tried to make him out to be. And don't hate on Woz. No Woz, no Apple.
Amelia Hartman no he wasnt, he just wasnt nice to people because it's not his job. He had a saying, "it's not my job to be nice to people, it's my job to make them better." What he meant is if he was nice to people, they would suck up to him, for if he was mean, people would be serious and actually do their work. Sometimes you have to be mean to get what u want done even if u don't want to be mean or be a prick.
dudetocartman No, he was a prick. He was terrible at his job. It wasn't until he got kicked out of the company and came back that he actually became a good leader.
Most have said that Jobs was a bigger prick than the film shows. Many considered him to be a sociopath, but a brilliant idea man for Apple. Woz gave up 10M of his own money to pay the garage friends that Jobs screwed out of the shares at the IPO.
while the reporter asks ok questions, one thing i love is that woz keeps the focus on what he wants to say. with a big guy like him i dont want him to talk about minor things like a movie
Steve woz isn’t just engineering genius, he is very calm kind soul. This was his way of saying what a horrible human being jobs was. In the movie jobs literally scream at engineers like a legit phyco, if that was “NOTHING compare to reality” as this man is saying, You can imagine just how obnoxious Jobs was in person. Not to mention at the beginning Job LITERALLY ripped Woz off financially. The Atari deal. I believe it was described in the movie. Like that, Jobs never consider anyone his friends. Just a tool to get what he wants. Which is pretty much the definition of sociopath. Oh, and fire that lady of course. :))
Its outrageous how she cuts Woz off when hes explaining the answers to the questions shes asking. Much like the movie are discussing this interview is a wasted opportunity.
OH MY GOSH why is this person allowed to interview anyone?! It's like she wants to ask a bunch of "tough" and "hard hitting" questions, get her paycheck, and get out. This is why I hate reporters and journalists. No respect. No heart. You don't interrupt the Woz. Geez, the sharp "So how long should we give Apple?" "What do you want to say to Kutcher?" "So you think Jobs ((Woz's late, business partner and friend)) was given too much credit?" Oh, she was pressed for time? That's because the format sucks and is so cookie-cutter. It's designed around the production and network, not the viewer or content. The networks are bad and they should feel bad.
Steve loves to talk about his passions, Emily is trying to conduct an interview with typical controversies. Mismatch made in heaven but both really do conduct the conversation with mutual respect.
This air-headed interviewer , should stick to interviewing fake/false celebrities , and leave intelligent people alone . Wow , bet Woz doesn`t do many interviews after this . He is the real hero of apple . Jobs was just a sales-man , who took all the credit and money for the great idea`s and inventions of other people . Just like a modern CEO/executive`s do .

Jobs wasn’t a bitter man.
Let the man Speak. Somebody point it out before but imma repeat it... If Jobs wouldbe the one interview by this reporter he wouldve storm out
"Should the rest of us see the movie?"
"I don't know, I don't give people direction in life."
HAHA! He's great. Sense of humour and yet very eloquent.
meghannmusic: yes, & that’s especially commendable while being patronized & talked over by a clueless idiot with no idea of what “common courtesy” is.
Hearing Woz elaborate is much like watching a kid in a candy store. He's just ecstatic to share the story of the birth of Apple with such an air of humility that you don't often see.
I did not like how she conducted this interview, disrespectful
"My principles aren't affected by money"
Steve Woz is the BOSS!!!!
The interviewer made this hard to watch.
I feel the interviewer's technique and general behaviour, is offensive.
She's got the luxury of interviewing a very important man in the history of technology, and she's interrupting him all the time.
Very offensive.
Fark shes going back and foward with the same questions. Let the man talk
Woz is just one of the purest souls and kindest people I've ever seen. It's remarkable that the other Steve was so much the opposite. Maybe they really needed each other to make this thing work.
Maybe? Without one the other would not have been what they became
WHOA. Agreed. She was waaaay disrespectful of this legend. I give him so much credit for keeping his cool.
Woz just cannot stop talking. He's a bundle of joy and energy. He's also such a nice guy, always defending people who were portrayed poorly!
She needs to stop interruption woz like serious this man is one of the entrepreneurs. This lady doesn't care what steve has to say she was just "following" the script. This interviewer sucks!
she is a horrible interviewer.
I hope the lady reads the threads in this video post.
"yes yes yes shes a horrible interviewer, "we know that story very well". But what do you think about Steve Jobs in the movie."
She still works for them... no idea how.
@@tomtalk24 Totally!!!
Very disrespectful interviewer.
Steve Wozniak is such a good soul, so happy and positive.
I think she owes him an apology frankly. I'm getting uncomfortable.
Gotta love Woz! An honest and genuine person.
I can't believe how rude this woman was to this nice man. Constant interuptions, talking over him, trying to catch him in a contradiction that he didn't make because she wouldn't shut her mouth enough to actually listen and keep track of the conversation. Horrible.
I'm 23 and would LOVE to just sit with Woz and listen to his story's. He's like a fountain of knowledge.. My rolemodel!
How are you doing now ?
Apple is simple as
Steve Jobs was the visionary
And Steve Wozniak the one that made those visions real
Both were equally important
Without Wozniak, Jobs wouldn't have created anything, and without Jobs, Wozniak wouldn't have something to create
Both were complementary for Apple
Mewtwo, you are completly right.
WHY DO ANCHORS HAVE TO BE SO AWKWARD
Woz deserves his own movie.
This interviewer probably praises 50 shades of gray...
Wow that interviewer's voice is incredibly annoying..
Yeah, she's a terrible interviewer.
You tell‘em Woz! I lived in Santa Clara during the early-mid 80’s and had friends that worked at Apple. You’re a gracious man. Great job!
08:15...that was really really RUDE dang. Gotta give it up to Wozniak for keepin cool.
the interviewer here just kept interrupting him and trying to push him to talk crap about Steve Jobs or Apple or the movie. useless interview. let Woz talk!
Sooo annoying moderator - I wish this was the last time I saw her...
Wozniak is the real brains that created the apple 1, with out this guy apple would not be here today.
Martin Tovar, that's right !
Many great minds never had a Jobs or a Gates to help get it from the brain to the market.
The ways in which she phrases things is really rude and disrespectful. An interviewer should be able to guide the conversation without being rude.
Look at how quickly he processes thoughts. That's mighty impressive!
You must not know many engineers 😂
rude woman doesn't understand her job description. let the man speak.
By the way...Woz is awesome. I always enjoys listening to him tell his stories and share his insights.
Thanks to Woz's brilliant intellect, all viewers will immediately notice this woman's remarkable incompetence.
Steve Wozniak is the only person I ever heard said that his motivations are not let by money, who I actually believe!
this is the Woz! you listen, you don't talk over him.
i'm genuinely interested in what he has to say, why does she have to keep interrupting him and changing the subject??
This Interviewer is rude. She kept on cutting when Steve Wozniak is explaining.
Just imagine if you had school teachers like this guy.
Well Steve Jobs was kind of a prick.
Amelia Hartman
no he wasnt, he just wasnt nice to people because it's not his job.
No Jobs, also no Apple.
In the movie jobs literally scream at engineers like a legit phyco, if that was “NOTHING compare to reality” as this man is saying,
You can imagine just how obnoxious Jobs was in person.
What is wrong with that lady?? Respect to the legend Steve Wozniak!!
A living and breathing genius!
Bloomberg: we need someone to be rude, condescending and cut Woz off when he tries to tell what really happened.
Reporter: hold my beer.
She is awful at interviewing.
Thank you for you passion, hard work and being such a humble human being Steve
08:03
At this point, I just wanna hit Chang with a shovel - made of lava
This lady's interview skills is the real "lack of innovation".
I hope she was immediately fired after this. "You gave a lot of your stocks to people. We get it. We know that story very well" Really?
This man is a man. He knows how to talk and he definitely is one intelligent man. He says so much yet he doesn't struggle like most people would do.
Please Just fire her. you know, just so you don't ruin other interviews with great people.
Wozniak!!!
Dude is genius.
And a very good person.
This interviewer: is this a joke?
Wozniak is awesome
What a great guy Woz would have been to work with. Wow! has he got class. He inspires people.
Geez, the sharp "So how long should we give Apple?" "What do you want to say to Kutcher?" "So you think Jobs ((Woz's late, business partner and friend)) was given too much credit?"
Oh, she was pressed for time? That's because the format sucks and is so cookie-cutter. It's designed around the production and network, not the viewer or content. The networks are bad and they should feel bad.
Larry King could interview. You want to host an interview style talk show, go watch Larry King.
At high school, she was the one who would NOT shut up.
