Let Us Not Forget - A Message to the American People was recorded after the end of World War I by Thomas Alva Edison. According the announcement on this recording, it was the first and only time that Edison permitted his voice to be commercially recorded for the public. In his message he praises the allied forces. He suggests that all Americans should remember the National Airs (melodies) of it's war-time allies.
Played on an Edisonic Schubert Diamond Disc phonograph. Recorded in HD with a Sony HDR-HC5

Thanks for posting this. Is the name of the 'announcer' known? If so, then who was he and if an employee of the Edison Company, what was his title?
Historically and linguistically (in my case both), this is a marvel. The latter in that they seem to have far stronger, broader accents in those days, understandably so.
