Thank you for posting this. I'm another fan of the Edison Long Play technology. Just recently I upgraded my S-19 to LP capability by buying parts from a model 3-C (it was serial number 1192, FYI). Cost a "pretty penny" to buy the gear-switch kit, an LP reproducer, and pay for repairs to the reproducer. But I feel it is worth it. There are lots of critics of the Edison LP technology, but if you get everything in optimal working order it is very gratifying and fascinating.

    Hi
I have one that has the same structure and the face plate where the speaker is the same design. The exception would be my father stripped and refinished trying to replicate the way it looked when his parents bought it back in the 1930's. I have several albums and it works perfectly. Mine may have another difference in that the head is not parallel to the album but at 90 degrees and it will play 33 rpms also. I have some of those like a Frank Sinatra song about coffee in Brazil.
I always wondered what the value would be. Not that it matters my son or grandson will inherit it.

I currently own one exactly like this. I’ve had to replace the material within the front screen due to dry rot. The history behind mine is my grandmother, who’s husband passed in 1919, had to support her 2 boys. She opened 3 silent movie theatre’s in the South where this one played happily during the playing of silent movies. My fathers job as a child, was to keep it cranked. Ours plays perfectly. I’m thrilled to have found you. I so hope you see my note. Do you have any idea if it’s current value?
