Working on a bronze replacement plaque for a plaque that was stolen 6 months ago. The bronze plaques are stolen and sold for scrap by some outstanding local citizens. Glad to see that you fastened the rear studs on this one with heavy duty glue. 😊
My dad's korean war marker from 1970 is white marble. I wanted to have it installed on the back of the headstone, but I was told they didn't know how to attach a marble marker info the back. They know how to attach metal. Thoughts? Ideas?
My parent's bronze marker has cement for the base. It has sever cracks. Is it possible to replace it or buy a cement base from the cemetery marker business. If so how would we remove from cracked base to new base or should we make a form and do the cement work ourselves? Or leave it as is?
Its hard to know what to do without seeing it. But I would think if its easy to get out of the cement you should and if its hard to get it out then leave it as its still in good shape despite the crack.

Lol good luck getting them off if they are put on with Rockite!! I hate that people do that kind of stuff.
@@-gravestonepros what type of glue did you use?
@@diegotapia7804 Rockite it’s an expanding cement.

Hey how did you make out with the replacement plaque?
Wonderful to watch.
Hey I'm glad you enjoyed this I have not done a video about bronze in a long time might be time for a new one.
Can you polish those rough-hewn sides on-site if requested? I notice so many stones now are coming out unfinished on the sides.
No work like that would have to come back to the shop.

Yes the Metal bronze is normal to attached to the stone and doing a inlay with the Marble is not the best plan but it can be done at great cost.

What size of bolt and thread count does the Military Marker require ?
3/8-16 4 inches long I believe.
The VA supplies the studs as well as the plaque.

I tried to get a military plaque for my Dad , a WW2 veteran . They wouldn't supply one as he passed away before 1990 .
It’s interesting I know I’ve seen plaques older than 1990 I wonder why they wouldn’t do one for him.
