Jay & Joss are a magic & illusion double act, based in the UK who tour all over the UK and internationally. They can be booked for theatre appearances as well as private and corporate events. Jay (Jamie Docherty) & Joss (Lewis Joss) are both full members of The Magic Circle and have been promoted to Associates of The Inner Magic Circle with a Silver Star.

Always love when penn just chats with the magicians and then asks if he said enough code. What code?? I thought you were just chatting!

But it was all a vain conversation, but between this conversation, preferably in some context, a number is said just casually, and that is enough for the magicians to know that they have been revealed. :)
Yeah, sometimes the code words are fairly obvious, even if you don't know what they mean. This time, I didn't hear anything that sounded like a code word. And I didn't hear the code words I was expecting for the way I guessed they might have done the trick.

@@MagnesiumSulfate Yeah, "we liked the setup with the tree and branches and we like the two person act...or three people..."
It's interesting that if you don't know have any idea how it's done, you can't even tell there are code words...but if you have a pretty good idea, the code words stick out from a pile of options to be selected on demand.
Oh my God I actually teared up when the "are you a couple part" and you said "...I guess yes we are." I think it subverted my expectation of maybe being humurous, but actually very sincerely out of love. Beautiful already! can't wait to see the trick!

I didn't care for the trick, but the introduction was so amazing. I am so happy we live in a time where we can see this. You can see the love in their eyes when they look at each other.

I have a magic trick that could fool Penn and Teller.. Its quite simple too, my bank account has money in it and then all of a sudden goes negative without me spending a dime..
In this particular case, Penn was talking Dress Code.

I’m still a little confused. You guys were right there the whole time. Didn’t you see them putting it on? If not, it really should’ve been said because it doesn’t even look like a trick. It’s entertaining, but just needs clarification.
Oooh, I like this take on a prediction trick. Instead of reading out a bunch of predictions on a sheet of paper, yous just had them on your towels!

@@marcelnz You only need one set . As Penn said right off the bat, 3 of us, 3 of you. That was the only code used. Simply.
The recording wasn't one, it was a third person telling Penn who to give the items to. Remember, all magicians are liars.

I think the contestants on Alyson and Teller, er Penn and Teller fall into two categories: those who honestly want to try to fool, and those who just want to showcase their talent and that y'all definitely fall into the second category.
On the other hand I truly enjoyed the act, it was a very lighthearted and fun presentation.
I don't feel like I was *forced* into watching it. And the set was a nice touch, with the *branching* trees above your head.
Alyson looks like a female Willy Wonka. Loved the trick.
I thought she looked like Elton John.
In my opinion she looks like a female mixed version of both
One time, at least one time, when Penn talks in code,
I want the magician to say, "I have no idea what you are talking about".
"Code?? Nope, didn't hear any code."
He let a little code slip.
3 person act. They appear to be a double but a third person assists. This means they are getting info and then selecting the banners that match the info.
a 3rd person watching the show and signaling to the mafic flute players and they had all of the tree branches covered (all permutations of costumes, with only the first 2 items being selected by chance)
It was a pretty forced act leaving Penn no choice but to give the specific dress/clothing to Teller or Allyson

can understand how when Penn takes an item of clothing Jay or Jos react by taking something off their table a drink, a book etc that refers to that item of clothing so that must be telling a thrid person what each is wearing, how then that is got onto a beach towel they are sitting on ?
Anyway, now you have a lot of weird towels for some time ahead 😂😂

Davey, the key is that the magic consultant Michael Close serves as the arbiter and knows how the trick is done, and knows if Penn and Teller figured it out. It keeps everything fair, although there's still argument over that "ring guy" a few seasons ago. :-)
it’s a shame that this act didn’t fool them, because there was a magician/mentalist who used a trick with a very similar principle to what yours was that did actually fool them not too long ago. i can’t remember his name, but he was some guy from Germany who predicted the results of 3 rounds of rock, paper scissors.
tough luck guys, but really well done. i mean you made it onto the show, that’s not something anyone should be bummed about.
He busted them.. they've been fooling around with a third magic man behind the scenes.. lol

Sorry to say something critical: I as magician would protest about this way of cutting the video how the fool us show does. At the most important moment, where the magic happens and you magician show your integrity, they cut out seconds: at 5:10 there is not shown how you get up, so as spectators we can say or doubt, that the towls were just changed and the scene cut out. WHY do they cut of the 3 seconds where you get up? Disappointing!
Interesting point! Unfortunately we have no say in the final edit and the general public don’t think like a magician. Good news is there was no switch of the towels, so people will just have to take us on our word! 👌
@@JayandJoss towels weren't switched. What was live and what was prerecorded was. I loved the background humor. Was so entertaining to watch. This has to be 1 my all time favorites now. You guys just seem like a fun couple to hang out with. Can't wait to see more

Saw these 2 at Butlins and they're very good.
I assume the audio isn't recorded in 1 go but in separate recordings. The "3rd person" can see what Penn picked up and plays the correct audio so it goes onto the correct person.
I'm probably wrong and I had no idea until the 3rd person remark. It's just my guess.

The recording is not as it seems, they recorded themselves on the beach meanwhile they are voicing live.
And how is that layed out in the code Penn spoke?
@@b4ph0m3tdk9 dubbing after the fact Pen has sold out, nothing is live just because it says live. Pen is a magician too and as we know, magicians NEVER lie right? 'A dubble act and group'there was a team behind pulling off this illusion, Pen is the only one who never changed clothes for he was in on it.

It's always interesting trying to decipher the "code" when Penn talks about how they think it's done
All I got was he thought they had a hidden 3rd person in on the trick. I am not sure how that helps them though.
@@justincenter4061 Yes, the number 3 was code information.
So the 3. guy did voiceover while they sat on the beach in the film?
The third person was not a recording, it was live. The unbelievable part was why record “in the hot tub”. A life person giving directions can easily force the choices. It looks like Penn has a choice between left or right hand, but then the voice tells him where to place the clothing. Penn has zero choice.
@@RogersMgmtGroup So you say they lied about which part was live and which was a recording. This they have to do IF the voice is the same as one of those two. But then there is no 3. guy?
If the voice is NOT one of those two guys, then they can be live while the 3. person directs Penn. I think this is what happened, and as the voice is not perfect they came up with the "recorded in the hot tub" to add a little echo to disguise the difference in the voices.

I don't think this trick could have been pulled off in person. (I'm speculating before watching Penn & Teller try to bust them) but I think the voice work was live while them sitting there was not
We’re gutted we weren’t able to perform in Vegas, but can assure you that we would have been performing the same routine, exactly as you see it, if we were there live :-)
@@JayandJoss wow didn't think I get a reply. Well I will have to take you at your word. My theory was based on how I think I would go about doing this. I figured if we were watching a recording of you sitting there (that started live before a careful cut) we wouldn't expect you to be able to give live directions, and if you were able to give live directions you'd be able to force Penn to match your towels. That may not be how it was done but it's my best stab at how it could be done good stuff though.
