All things being fair, I just listen to Jensen Ackles play Batman in the new animated DC movie,and he was top notch. Kevin Conroy has passed, but Batman lives on.

I love Kevin Conroy, I never want his old work to be replaced, or using AI voice, none of it. But I think since we have to find a replacement, Roger Craig Smith (as seen in Arkham Origins) or Jensen Ackles (Long Halloween animated film, and Justice League Warworld), they both do spectacular work as Batman VA's, but I don't think Jensen should be the game universe's Batman IF he's the DCU Batman, so I personally believe moving forward you get Roger Craig Smith as Batman, the speech to Alfred about how he's the reason criminals stop is proof he has the range and emotion to pull off a damn good Batman. That's just my thoughts on the Batman VA side of Injustice 3, the rest is on Netherrealm to correct.
Honestly I wouldn’t mind rino Romano reprising his role as the bat he was actually pretty good in the Batman series and his bat voice was not bad either

It having cameos does not mean it was supposed to be Injustice 3. Its just the gimic for this game. every NRS game has a gimic. I don't believe it was ever supposed to. They announced the game around the 30th anniversary, they would have had to spent time and money restarting designs and story writing, it just doesn't make sense.

I agree with your biggest concern being NetherRealm's complacency. My 2 greatest fears for injustice 3 are:
1. The game being live service (because I already have that in Apex Legends and I DON'T need to see it for injustice 3)
2. The plot being worse than I2 (Superman needs to either have a redemption or die & Wonder Woman definitely needs to go too)
