trying a mammee apple for the first time

NEW FRUIT ALERT 🚨 this is a treeripened MAMMEE APPLE! different than a mamey sapote in every way. this fruit surprised me in every single sense of the word. tbh i looked at that big ol thing and thought to myself- this fruit doesnt look that good.. was i ever wrong. mammee apple is climbing ranks in my fruit assessment!! hardy outside (not many bugs), they fall off the tree when ripe, they bave a longer shelf life than most tropical fruits, they have an AWESOME texture- like a real apple and a pear together? its got a GOOD crunch. cutting into it is easy and not messy. the seeds are easy to find and clean. the peel comes right off. plus the fruit is absolutely delicious. i was getting hints of apricot apple and even canteloup! yummy yummy a new fruit favorite for sure! Seeds in the shop! 🍒🥳 we are changing the world. one seed at a time! share this video with someone who needs to see this fruit! blessings

In Barbados we rub the flesh with salt to take off those whitish strings on the fruit's surface that flim can make the fruit taste kinda bitter & astringent. Then we wash it off before slicing it up & sprinkle a little more salt before eating this fabulous fruit. The salt enhances the Mamey apple's taste & actually softens the firm texture of the fruit
