    You have done your research and ready to go. If you end up in the Algarve/Portugal, consider reaching out. My wife and I are going in January for three months. 🍻

      We are heading to Portugal around mid-January. Lagos for a month! Not sure which town you are staying in, but it would be fun to meet up and swap travel stories on a nice, sunny patio in the Algarve! Thanks for watching guys! Cheers! 🍻

    This is a dilemma for us as well. We’ve never been to SE Asia (and do want to go) since the crowds, noise and heat put us off. Europe seems to win every time for us!
    By the way, I really enjoy these sit down style of videos…you’ll have to do a packing video…people (myself included!) eat those things up!
    And if you are looking for an adventure in Portugal/Spain, do a Camino….lifechanging!
    Cheers 🍷

      We are glad to hear that others feel our concerns! It is totally worth visiting SE Asia, but you need to be ready for the energy and culture difference for sure! Especially if you want to stay for 3-6 months! Thank you for letting us know that you enjoy the sit downs. Our plan right now is to pepper those in as our mid-week videos! We have a packing video on our list for sure! We made some changes this year after learning from last year and we think that we do really well with carry-on only for 6 months away!! You definitely have us thinking about Camino...we have heard amazing things and lifechanging is a common theme ❤️

    Great video and the comparison between South East Asia and Europe. Thailand now allows Canadians to stay 60 days without a Visa. Heading there in January 2025 !

      Thanks so much! Awesome that it is now 60 days - Visa requirements change so much it is hard to keep up! LOL. Have an amazing time! We will definitely be back to explore more of the country....just likely not in April next time. so hoooot! LOL

    We have the same issues flying back n forth to Australia, it’s so costly. We’re currently in spending 5 1/2 months in SEAsia. Arrived in Phnom Penh yesterday, so far so good. We’ll actually be in Canada in May 2025 after a 33 night cruise from Sydney Australia to Vancouver followed by an Alaskan cruise, a trip through the rockies and then a month travelling down the east coast. Can’t wait to see Canada…certainly a bucket list destination for us.

      So fun!! You guys have launched!!! So exciting! What other countries are you hitting in SE Asia?! Also, we are so excited you are going to see Canada!! Your wallet won’t like it, but it’s beautiful!! lol! What an exciting year ahead! SE Asia is awesome! Such different culture, food and gorgeous sights. ❤️

      Sure have! We left back in April, first 5 months in Italy, Portugal, Spain & Turkey. Then home to Sydney, Australia for three weeks. This block were 6 months, started in Japan then tawain, Thailand, Cambodia, next Laos and Vietnam before back home for a month. Then set off to Canada, Iceland and Europe.
      Oh yes Canada will be super expensive for us that’s why we’re in Asia to save money before our next expensive block.
      So where is your next travel block? Have you worked it out yet?

    • @mitchandjan
      @mitchandjan  26 днів тому +1

      We are doing Europe until end of April, then back to Canada. We haven’t even figured out the next block! Lol. Heading out to BC in the summer though - so we will be going through the Rockies too!

      @ sounds fantastic! We’ll be in the rockies late May/early June. Just 12 nights as it was way too expensive any longer. Hooley Dooley we thought we’d have to sell our first born to cover that part of our trip 😂 we’d always said that our retirement trip would be to Canada and Alaska so have to make that dream happen. Looks absolutely breathtaking 🩷

    A great break down. 👍 Valid concerns with types of housing in Southeast Asia. Even with food.
    A big concern for us is we no longer cook with or eat any seed oils. I eat a proper human diet. Aka Carnivore diet. Though I cheat with coffee ☕️ 😋 My wife eats more of a Keto or Mediterranean diet.
    Did I miss which one you picked? Sounds like Europe and Eastern Europe is your logical choice 🤔
    Would it be more affordable to fly from Turkey to SEA?

    • @mitchandjan
      @mitchandjan  14 днів тому

      Thanks! Yes, we did choose Europe this year!! Olive and coconut ils are the only oils we prefer to have, but definitely not cooking with those in SE Asia!! LOL!
      Not sure about flights from Turkiyë, but spoiler alert.....we are headed there later this winter 🙂
