In the other case they're a filthy grifter that is willing to say literally anything for internet points... like Vaush, in which case it's like talking to a brick wall. We see someone get eaten in our village by a tiger -> we don't stop to question if each tiger is friendly or not, especially not after the third time. Sure maybe the majority of tigers are tame and reasonable but why take risks that can be easily avoided? (Same logic applies to humans.) And then the moralizers online will screech "don't be a tigerphobe!" from their ivory tower.
