React to women singers from Mexico like Natalia Lafourcade and Carla Morrison 🇲🇽❤U
Saludos.desfe.ny..nymiRespeto.guerito🌵
He was one of our best songwriters. Not one of the best singers I believe. But every one in Mrxico knows at least 5 José Alfredo's songs. And we all sing them at the end of a party when we are a little (or very) drunk.
Yes, that song was composed specifically to be a thank you to all his public, because he knew he was already dying. He had hepatic cirrhosis and have had it for several years, so he knew his time was limited. One of his best friends, and also a singer, Chavela Vargas metioned that, when the doctors told Jose Alfredo Jimenez that he had only two months to live, he called her to "run the last spree" together along with another composer friend. They spent three days and three nights singing, drinking and going out of proportion on a mitical bar in Garibaldi square on Mexico City.
Chavela Vargas is famous for coining the phrase "Mexicans are born were we want", meaning that Mexicans can be born outside of Mexico and still be Mexicans...which is kind of true, because in the Mexican Constitution, one is Mexican as long as one of your parents is Mexican, regardless if you were not born in Mexican territory. The fun fact though, is that Chavela Vargas was born in Costa Rica to Costarican parents, she got her Mexican citizenship at a very young age, so she always considered herself a Mexican.
That's right that's why he's from the pueblo and the pueblo own him
He did indeed give that performance knowing he was going to die. Beautiful man. Great reaction! Always feels good to have one's culture appreciated.
That is so beautifully heartbreaking, what an incredible man he must have been 💯
THANK YOU, THANK YOU for reacting to Jose Alfredo Jimenez. He is one of my favorites and often forgotten. A few Vicente Fernández hits were written and sang by Jose Alfredo. He was AMAZING, his music lives on.❤❤
One of his last appearances on Mexican television occurred in 1973, just months prior to his death, where he introduced his last song, "Gracias", accompanied by his wife, singer Alicia Juarez. It was his way of thanking the public for all of the affection they had shown him throughout his career as one of the most prolific and highly regarded composers and singers Mexico has ever produced.
This performance was his goodbye to all of Mexico. He is one of the greatest singer-songwriters Mexico has given the country. He died when I was very little but still remember the deep sadness all the adults in my family felt when he passed away. He died of cirrhosis at 47, a painful end according to his wife, but he lived life to its fullest and was mourned by millions upon his death. Every November 23 we still drink a shot of tequila and listen to him singing. Thanks for introducing José Alfredo to younger generations.
The only thing I disagree with is “ one of” he is the greatest most important lyricist. Everyone and I mean everyone covered his songs. And like you said you guys take shots. At my house “No me amenaces” has a special meaning for a brother I lost.
Man my mom would listen to his song for time to time, you just unlock a memory I completely forgot
❤️
Muy bonito,excelente.👏👏👏👏❤️❤️😊😊
I’m crying because I watched this moment and I a veery young girl and my entire family was crying for him. Saying goodby live and then short after this farewell song he died. The greatest songwriter of Mexican music. His unique style of singing and being a humble man. If you react to songs like the corrido of caballo blanco he wrote it based in his white old car when he was driving from Guadalajara to Ensenada Baja California Norte.
Hi, Could you react to El Triste by Jose Jose? He was one of the most beautiful voices in Mexico, you will love it. I'm subscribing already, greetings 👋🏼
I would be happy to! Thank you for the recommendation!
"Amor eterno" from Juan Gabriel (subtitles in english available) nice reaction.
Happily check it out 💯
José Alfredo Jiménez was one of the best Mexican composers.
I think his most iconic song is "El rey", which has been performed by many artists, but my favorite is in the voice of Vicente Fernández.
💯
José Alfredo Jiménez, self-styled "El hijo del pueblo" is the greatest composer of ranchero music in Mexico, he had no music studies, but that did not mean an obstacle for his development as a singer-songwriter and to become an indispensable reference when talking about Mexican music. His songs have been and continue to be recorded or interpreted by the best singers not only of ranchero but of other genres, a true interpreter more than a singer of his songs. Greetings
I remember my grandpa would sit outside in his truck and listen to him all day driving beer haha. I was still young when my grandpa passed, about 9 years old back in 2002. But i still remember how much he loved his music.
Same, I remember Emmy older family members who now have passed listening to his music, hearing his music now helps me relive those moments back when I was younger that I have forgotten
Amanecí en tus brazos” is a an amazing and tragic poem an I’ve known every word since 1976
The king, in the past he knew was sick from leaver due to alcohol, but he was and is the best compositor we have had in mexico since 1920 he was from dolores hidalgo guanajuato where mexico borned , tomorrow is independece day but he was a poet of live
Men, keep bringing this. About Jose, he died from cirrhosis in November of that year after suffering, and when it was diagnosed it was to advanced and to late, so he knew he was going to die.
I would recommend Vicente Fernandez (Mujeres Divinas), Luis Miguel (La Incondicional) or Pedro Infante (Fallaste Corazon), also I'm glad you are reading the subtitles.
Lupita D’Alessio is a great singer too, Juan Gabriel wrote a song for her “Inocente pobre amiga”
Oh I'll have to check it out! Thank you for the recommendation!
My mom is from Leon, Guanajuato. The place he sang a very popular song about, she remembers seeing him sing in about 1972 when she was 2 years old. He died shortly after, he probably looked very similar to this video and he dressed similar too. She said he was wearing one of those cloths too, I don’t remember what it’s called, maybe it’s called a sarape but yeah it’s cool that she remembers that.
You owe it to yourself to check out José José's performance of "El triste" at the 1970's Oti Awards.
Great 👍 👍
Singer from
Mexico 🇲🇽🇲🇽
Love Love all his songs. 💚🤍❤️🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
He is my favorite artist. So much emotions in all his songs. I love hearing him sing because he brings his lyrics to life and you feel then. He did know he was going to pass. Some of my favorites of him include : tu y la nubes
La enorme distancia
Que suerte la mia
La mano de Dios
Also, How about a reaction to Paloma negra by Lola Beltran.
Omg forgot to mention also please react to Javier Solis- Renunciacion
Thank you for the recommendations! He seems like an incredible person!
With his song that named serenata sin Luna I ask my wife she married me and she said yes,now she passed away and every time I hear that song I feel so many emotions. Because I missed a lot.she died at 41 years old in March 2023. From cancer
I think her had was holding her on his shoulders. I love how my mom still remembers stuff from her very early years. I don’t remember much lol.
My friend. JOSE ALFREDO was the author (more than a singer) of the most beautiful and iconic mexican music. He left so many years ago and his songs are still sung by many singers. Try to look for his lyrics in English. Yes, that was his last performance. Irreplaceable as well as Juan Gabriel.
Your song reviews are amazing!
Mr. Sir José Alfredo Jimenez totally a great institution of mexican music 😎
Oh good!! Give yourself time to appreciate Lucha Villa and Lola Beltran, two women with powerful voices.
-Lucha Villa “ La enorme distancia”.
-Lola Beltran “Cucurrucucu paloma”.
Welcome to the Mexican music, it is always a pleasure people from the other side of the world enjoy our music and culture. Greetings 🇲🇽🇲🇽
As an artist this man is my idol. He is my favorite musician. And. Not only cuz I'm Mexican but he fully expressed himself through his music.
Aaaa the nostalgia, when i was a little child, my mother cooking and listening this song. the memories of more simple times.
To answer your question, yes, he knew his live is coming to an end.
He was diagnosed with hepatic cirrhosis. In the year 1973 doctors tell him it was the end of the line.
Alcohool abuse was the cause.
What an Incredibly strong person to give a farewell performance like this ❤️

great reaction. Jose Alfredo was known as the greatest Mexican composer ... a true legend
I wasn't expecting to get this sad so early in the morning
💯❤️
I really like that song.
You're exactly right, we all think that he got a feeling that he's going to die, it was sad do!!!
José Alfredo was an incredible composer and singer, a lot of singers sang them. He is an Icon of mexican story music.
Please make a video of José José singing `el triste´ he is considered the best performer in romantic music here in Mexico. I honestly think you will like him.
Feel it
That's what the artists were made of. They really appreciate the public. Because for the public they get to that level
José Alfredo was known for his song writing , his emotional performances but also for his heavy , heavy drinking . He was really the peoples poet, so much that some have rumored that some of his songs were not penned by him but by his bottom of the barrel drunkards he used hang out with despite being a star .
He died very young from complications due to his drinking.
You can not walk in to a Mexican establishment , party, workplace , school , in Mexico or in the US where there are Mexicans present , sing a song from José Alfredo and not have more than a few people sing along or sing the end of the verse to the song you started singing . This is a fact.
All love but 😮 I winced every time you said “José Alfredo”. 🇲🇽 We will always call him “José Alfredo Jimenez,” his full name for the utmost respect we have for him.
Hola 👋 yeah he was a great composer. I don’t know how many songs he wrote, but he wrote a lot in another masterpiece that he wrote it’s named ( el Rey) con Jose Alfredo Jimenez , hy from Los Angeles ca 🇲🇽😇🤗
From what I know it’s about that song is that he recorded it and knowing that he was going to die someday, and that’s why he recorded it before he died
Yes bro! You felt that! I feel alive when I hear this song. This man grabbed his 🥚s and stared death in the eyes and sang! 🇲🇽 💪🏽
JOSÉ ALFREDO JIMENEZ GREAT COMPOSER OF ALL HIS SONGS EXIT ALL OF THEM EL REY AND PALOMA QUERIDA TE SOLTÉ LA RIENDA A LOT OF SONGS
Long live Mexico and the UK!!
You’re going to love Pedro infante as well
Me encantan tus reacciones. Mexico es lo mejor.
Este es mi compositor favorito. Soy dominicano🇩🇴.
Recomiendo: Porqué me haces llorar Juan Gabriel y Querida
All true, that was his last written song and performance, wasp sick and knowing what was going to happen.
He made that song specifically to thank the people hence the title.
He was humble and the most connected to the feeling at singing. As a man over his 40’s I can tell you I can break down on tears whit this song.
No singing school or music academy taught, nothing just feeling.
Awesome reaction, lots of songs from him to react, but I’ll appreciate if you do to “el June te” or “arrullo de Dios”.
Thanks.
He was know more by his songs rather than his voice, but he was also a great singer aside of being a master composer, a lot of his works are still being singing all over the place, a telent that will forever be missed.
Yes man he was really this savage. He got really skinny before he died. He said goodbye to all his fans knowing he was going to die.
You have to react to Pepe Aguilar - Mi credo

Jiménez died young. He was only forty-seven years old when he died in Mexico City, of complications resulting from cirrhosis of the liver.
He passed away on November 23, 1973
Where are those Rocío Dúrcal recommendations? I don't see her in the comments.

He, Lola Beltrán and La Prieta Linda helped Juan Gabriel in his beginning, when he first arrived to Mexico City, they gave him money to eat, they invited him to dinner and they even helped him with more serious things.
And you have to react to LUIS MIGUEL, still alive and incredible singer (not an author) Try his concerts with mariachis as well. He sings with bands as well. Superb
Jose Alfredo was the best songwriter in the golden era of the Mexican film industry, the best interpreter of his songs was Pedro Infante I highly recommend

Yes, it's true this was his fair well song. He was an extraordinary composer more than a singer. His song Volver Volver which Vicente Fernandez sang was his.
