You could react to the group The Warning, who despite their ages, 18, 20 and 23, are already considered the best rock band in Mexico. They participated in the Metallica Blacklist, they have 2 songs in the ROCKBAND game, they attended Berklee college of music on scholarships. They have opened for Def Leppard, The Killers, Foo Figthes, Guns N Roses and recently MUSE, on their tour of Mexico. They are scheduled for Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, in Germany and are expected to tour Europe.

Thanks for the reaction to our late Juan Gabriel’s performance. In Mexico he is known for his spectacular shows, but most of all because he was an amazing songwriter. For this particular video, he is accompanied by his own mariachi band and The National Symphonic Orchestra at the Palace of Fine Arts of Mexico. A renowned and exclusive venue where only the very best in classic arts are allowed to perform (e.g. opera, ballet, music). The government was not amused to allow him to perform there, but it was the people who requested that he sang there. So, he was the first popular artist to perform at this venue. In fact, he performed there 3 times! 1990, 1997, and 2013. Something that no one else has done ever, before or after him. This video is from his first presentation in 1990. We lost him too soon, but the legacy of his music and the lyrics of his songs will be forever.

@@maripilisenderos3710 No, that is not true. In the case of Juan Gabriel, it was certainly the people in Mexico who requested him singing there. The government had to abide. Do not misinform with all that nonsense.
In the case of the singer Manuel Mijares, it was indeed Angelica Rivera, Peña Nieto’s wife who pressed her influences to have her friend Mijares singing there as if the Palace of Fine Arts was a party venue. People in Mexico was not happy about that and Rivera’s and Mijares’ action was heavily criticized. Mijares sang there once, totally undeserved. Juan Gabriel sang there 3 times, highly acclaimed!

Juan Gabriel, such an amazing song writer and performer in stage, it is an icon. Also, another recommendation, check the song 'El Triste' sang by José José, it basically translate as 'The Sad One', the live version on OTI, basically one of the most important song contests in latin america at the time, is one of the most impressive vocal performances.
Also, what's behind him is a full Mariachi band, I know how much people in the internet joke about mariachis, but the traditional Mariachi music is so incredibly beautiful, all the string and brass instruments together make impressive songs.

    Lyrics:
I never knew about sadness and tears, or nothing
    That made me cry.
I only knew about cuddles and tenderness
Since I was a kid, because that’s what mom
    Teached me.
    That, and many other things.
    I never suffered,
    I never cried.
    I was so happy.
    I had a good life.
    I lived something different,
    Something beautiful and divine,
    Plenty of happiness.
I knew about joy, the beauties of life,
    But not of loneliness.
Of loneliness and many other things.
    I never suffered,
    I never cried.
    I was so happy.
    I had a good life.
    Since I meet you
    I saw life with pain.
    I can’t lie, I was happy,
    But without much love.
    And, too late, I understood
I should have never loved you, never
Because now I only think on you
    More than yesterday
    Even more
    I never suffered,
    I never cried.
    I was so happy.
    I had a good life.
    But, unfortunately,
    In a night like this,
    I found you.
Now I want you to tell me
If it worthed to meet you,
Because I don’t want to see you no more.
    Because you were mean
    So mean with me,
    That’s why I don’t want you
Don’t want to see you anymore.
    Go away
    Go away
    Go away of my side
Go away, I don’t want you
I don’t want to see you anymore,
    Go away!

Juan Gabriel, the most prolific composer in Mexico, a great composer, was a performer and a showman. At that time, for me, he was at the peak of his career, with maturity and an incredible voice. His compositions already fused various styles clearly and with great taste. That was, if not the first, one of the first times that “popular” music entered the Palacio de Bellas Artes, where “cult” music, opera, classical music, etc. was normally played. That is why he decided to do a concert with special, long versions and with several spaces to improvise. For me it is a masterpiece. In this, as in some others, he reflects very well the idiosyncrasy of the Mexican, tragedies are transformed into something happy or at least not sad, he dances it, sings it and thus at least vents those feelings. I recommend that you listen to "Eternal Love" (Amor eterno) from that same concert and if you can read the translated lyrics. It's good that you liked it 🤘🏻 Juan Gabriel Rocks! RIP

Que nostalgia siento de verlo. thanks for reacting to this great mexican singer.

Juan Gabriel is a Music Icon of Mexico. He has already passed on but, most of the songs you may hear are his and still relevant and famous. (It might be a good idea to have the lyrics handy when listening to his music. They may blow you away.) His power of inspiration are next level...He was well known in all Latin America. He influenced many musicians and singers everywhere in Latin America and abroad. This performance was performed in the Great Arts Palace in Mexico. (Bellas Artes) One of the best performance theaters in the world. (One of the best sound acoustics I've ever heard. ) He always went all out in his concerts. He had full and absolute control of the stage. A true professional of the craft.
I loved this reaction. Thank you!
BTW, do you know that Linda Ronstadt sings a perfect Spanish? She had some Mariachi songs that might interest your Mexican journey.
For Juan Gabriel , there is a song that all Latin America knows. ("Amor Eterno"). However. Warning. The same way that Juan Gabriel can raise your spirits in enthusiasm and spunk, in the same manner he can touch you with a sadness comparable with anguish. I know how sensible you are señor. "Amor Eterno " may open your eyes' floodgates. It may be a true showcase of his genius for you. He sings said song in that same concert hall.
PD If you need help with the Spanish, I'll be more than happy to assist. You are the best!

We Mexicans loved and still love Juan Gabriel regardless of our preferred genres, age and cultural background. His lyrics are soooooo deep, they explore sooo much, they can get you through anything even as years go by. The way that THIS specific song talks about that awful experience of meeting somebody and be disappointed, wounded and angry by their mistreatment, so badly for the first time; yet, the show Juanga put on has you dancing, getting goosebumps and just really lifting your spirit like that. DAMN.
Him saying “Viva México” right after doing THAT. Representing. He damn well knew how great and loved he was.
He was so powerful in every way. His talent was undeniably beautiful and the fact that this was a gay man being his most authentic creative self getting the celebration he deserved in a country where homophobia is still abundantly dangerous to this day, makes it even more incredible.
Gracias por todo Juanga, descansa en paz✨

One of the most important part of his performance is the meaning of the song. If you can get a translation of the lyrics, his performance will have even more added meaning to you. He starts soft recalling his happy life, his contentment, the teachings of his mom, and then his descent into madness after "meeting this woman made him fall in love and who hurt him" because her hold on him is so powerful. The violins and his wailing in the end convey all the despair and insanity. Try to find the lyrics!
