Thanks for the reaction to our late Juan Gabriel’s performance. In Mexico he is known for his spectacular shows, but most of all because he was an amazing songwriter. For this particular video, he is accompanied by his own mariachi band and The National Symphonic Orchestra at the Palace of Fine Arts of Mexico. A renowned and exclusive venue where only the very best in classic arts are allowed to perform (e.g. opera, ballet, music). The government was not amused to allow him to perform there, but it was the people who requested that he sang there. So, he was the first popular artist to perform at this venue. In fact, he performed there 3 times! 1990, 1997, and 2013. Something that no one else has done ever, before or after him. This video is from his first presentation in 1990. Very true. I went to an Alejandro Fernandez concert in suburban Chicago a few weeks ago, and it seemed like 12,000+ people knew the words to every song he performed that night.
HE WAS THE FIRST putting together mariachi with orquesta!!! Thank you for your reaction!!! All mexico loves JUAN GABRIEL, HE IS LIKE OUR ELVIS OR MICHAEL!!! 💖💖💖

Juan Gabriel is one of my favorite Mexican artists, even though he's not from my generation. Not being able to go to one of his concerts is a big regret of mine 😭 so there's so many songs I love that I want you to listen to... starting with "Amor Eterno", "Te Sigo Amando", "Abrázame Muy Fuerte", "Se Me Olvido Otra Vez" 😂 I'd easily list half his discography...

He was not only a super talented singer but a gifted songwriter, too. When he performs he is expressing his own feelings, so he is the whole package. 💢💯💢
Ouuuu please react to “Amor Eterno” - Juan Gabriel this concert version to be exact. He wrote this song dedicating to his mother who passed away at the time. This song is often used to mourn someone’s death. SUCH AN INCREDIBLE SONG!!. ALSO, put on the English subtitle, trust me!!!!!😊😊
I always say: Juan Gabriel the legend.....Composer,singer,musician..He was an angel in the earth with a big capacity...To express feelings..So hypnotic and the travel in the life of miles of stories of life....❤ Thank you....
Juan Gabriel leaded the band, the orchestra, the set, lights , sound engineers, ALL , people needed to be focused on what was he doing in stage in order to follow him up, he could change the performance if he wanted to do !!, a legend, he wrote more than 1500 songs and others apparently were not copyrighted, if not the best one of the best Mexican songwriters, a legend composing music !!! Timeless music and his legacy will continue for generations, in my opinion the BEST MEXICAN PERFORMER! So many legends were born in Mexico 🇲🇽
Juan was always doing preforms with his very own Marchari band, chorus singers and orchestra. Just that alone also tell me how wealthy and talented man. Such a legend
Juan Gabriel had a God-given gift to make people cry and feel feel the emotions of his songs like no ome else. It transcends lamguage, culture, country, race, religion, etc. He was a Mexican icon and now a world legend! 🙌🏼
I grew up listening this man songs. Parents listened to his music.. I was too young though. So, it was just a normal day for me :). I didn't realize how talented he was, until today! Thank you for this reaction.
Juan Gabriel was a LEGEND of Mexico and he was an incredible LIVE artist. He took pride in all his shows but he did write the song and added the music to the songs-he was a GENIUS! RIP....

Yay! You're finally reacting to Spanish music. I'm Salvadoran but Juan Gabriel and Vicente Fernandez are universal. I hope you also react to Chente, two icons that are no longer with us.

From love to loss, happiness to anger, sorrow to pride, our music throughout the ages has captured many feelings and I hope you may feel them too. And for those of my people reading this: ¡VIVA MEXICO CABRONES!
Juan Gabriel is a Mexican icon. Truly, hands down. He composed and arranged his own songs, just a a real musical talent. Lots of ppl suffered after his passing. Very similar to Fredy Mercury and many talented musicians, he was one of a kind. Thanks for covering this. You should also try Vicente Fernandez, which is another mariachi, drunken “karaoke” favorite amongst Mexicans.
Juan Gabriel. The man, the legend! He is one of the best gifts Mexico has given to the musical world. His voice, his presence, his songs and inspiration will live for many, many future generations 🌹🌹🌹
Juan Gabriel is the most important representative of mexican music, he wrote all his songs, as well as many songs for other singers, more than three thousand songs...
Juan Gabriel, the most prolific composer in Mexico, a great composer, was a performer and a showman. At that time, for me, he was at the peak of his career, with maturity and an incredible voice. His compositions already fused various styles clearly and with great taste. That was, if not the first, one of the first times that “popular” music entered the Palacio de Bellas Artes, where “cult” music, opera, classical music, etc. was normally played. That is why he decided to do a concert with special, long versions and with several spaces to improvise. For me it is a masterpiece. In this, as in some others, he reflects very well the idiosyncrasy of the Mexican, tragedies are transformed into something happy or at least not sad, he dances it, sings it and thus at least vents those feelings. I recommend that you listen to "Eternal Love" (Amor eterno) from that same concert and if you can read the translated lyrics. It's good that you liked it 🤘🏻 Juan Gabriel Rocks! RIP
Juan Gabriel is one of the ICONIC VOICES in Spanish language. He was EVERYTHING and painfully talented! He had quite a life full of ups and downs, but was AMAZING! He was one of the gifts from Mexico for the Humanity.
Juan Gabriel wrote 1800 songs, all of them beautiful, you can watch any of them and you will know why we, Mexicans, love him so much. Talented, he was a genious!. bless you!
What a incredible reaction to “ El Divo de Juárez” our Juan Gabriel, he trascended with His music for generations in Mexico and always will be remembered as one of the most productive singer, author, show man in our country .

This is the performances that we grew up with for like 70' up untill he passed away in the 2000"s years* is a SHOWMAN!! ONE OF THE BIGGEST SINGER'S IN MEXICO.
Que nostalgia siento de verlo. thanks for reacting to this great mexican singer.
May he Rest in Peace! Our amazing Juan Gabriel was one of the greatest performers in Latin America. Gave us so many songs written by him. He gave way to many other Latin Artists that sang his songs. Get ready to discover our music. Thanks for the reaction..keep going!
Living outside of Mexico but missing my home country, it's always fantastic to see somebody enjoying music from my country. I would recommend Alejandro Fernandez
Juan Gabriel was huge in the 60s in Mexico 🇲🇽 my mom and dad are huge fans and I grew up with his music, I had the opera to see him live in Hollywood California live in concert it was an amazing experience. I was 20 then I’m 36 now. May Juan Gabriel rest in peace
Juan Gabriel is a Music Icon of Mexico. He has already passed on but, most of the songs you may hear are his and still relevant and famous. (It might be a good idea to have the lyrics handy when listening to his music. They may blow you away.) His power of inspiration are next level...He was well known in all Latin America. He influenced many musicians and singers everywhere in Latin America and abroad. This performance was performed in the Great Arts Palace in Mexico. (Bellas Artes) One of the best performance theaters in the world. (One of the best sound acoustics I've ever heard. ) He always went all out in his concerts. He had full and absolute control of the stage. A true professional of the craft. I loved this reaction. Thank you! BTW, do you know that Linda Ronstadt sings a perfect Spanish? She had some Mariachi songs that might interest your Mexican journey. For Juan Gabriel , there is a song that all Latin America knows. ("Amor Eterno"). However. Warning. The same way that Juan Gabriel can raise your spirits in enthusiasm and spunk, in the same manner he can touch you with a sadness comparable with anguish. I know how sensible you are señor. "Amor Eterno " may open your eyes' floodgates. It may be a true showcase of his genius for you. He sings said song in that same concert hall. PD If you need help with the Spanish, I'll be more than happy to assist. You are the best!
Juan Gabriel was simply the best. And 'Bellas Artes'(the venue) was the perfect stage to potencialize his talent, performig skills, and of course his amazing voice.
What's more incredible about this and many of his performances is that that whole last part is improvised. The musicians know the improv section is coming and they all riff together in perfect synchrony. Amazing.
It's so happy to see your reaction to our beloved Mr Juan Gabriel, he was a gift to us and I'm glad you're enjoying his music, I had the pleasure of meeting him and going to many of his presentations, he has so many songs and artists who he wrote for. One of his favorite was Rocio Dúrcal she has a long time friend and singer from Spain who sang Mexican music. The reaction you gave was just the best presented in the Palace of bellas artes in the city of Mexico. This is the climax of his career in my opinion thus he reason of the amazing performance. We can't be more proud of our genius composer and singer as people who knew him called him Juanga, forever I love him 💯💌🙏💕

Every generation of every time period since the last century, has had a music icon that has made us proud of in Mexico. Juan Gabriel began his career in the 1970s and continued to have musical success up until the day he died. But there are many other national and international dimension artists like Pedro Infante, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Lola Beltran, Vicente Fernandez, Jose Jose, Mana, Caifanes, etc. Lovely reaction buddy. Thanks.
Juan Gabriel was born to perform. I can think of no one else that could have an orchestra, a mariachi and backup singers and still be the center of attention for so many reasons......
We Mexicans loved and still love Juan Gabriel regardless of our preferred genres, age and cultural background. His lyrics are soooooo deep, they explore sooo much, they can get you through anything even as years go by. The way that THIS specific song talks about that awful experience of meeting somebody and be disappointed, wounded and angry by their mistreatment, so badly for the first time; yet, the show Juanga put on has you dancing, getting goosebumps and just really lifting your spirit like that. DAMN. Him saying “Viva México” right after doing THAT. Representing. He damn well knew how great and loved he was. He was so powerful in every way. His talent was undeniably beautiful and the fact that this was a gay man being his most authentic creative self getting the celebration he deserved in a country where homophobia is still abundantly dangerous to this day, makes it even more incredible. Gracias por todo Juanga, descansa en paz✨
Thank you for this reaction! El Divo de Juarez ❤️ my home town proudly, he's whole life is stunning, had to overcome so many things to achieve everything he did, even with such talent life was hard and rocky for him, our much loved singer ❤️❤️❤️ our Mexican Divo!!!
Thanks for your reaction. 🙏 Juan Gabriel's music is so iconic that it has transcended generations and countries, in fact some of his songs have been translated into languages such as Russian, French, Portuguese, Japanese, etc.
I saw him in Washington state the year before he died. 2015 the year so many legends left us. I cried at his concert. His music had been in the background and I had sang his songs as a child all the way to adulthood. Peruvians love Juan Gabriel.
I remember when he did an all night concert from 10:00 pm until 6:00 am with Veronica Castro in “ Mala Noche No” the students in Mexico did not went to class the next morning. Amazing! Viva México 🇲🇽
One of the most important part of his performance is the meaning of the song. If you can get a translation of the lyrics, his performance will have even more added meaning to you. He starts soft recalling his happy life, his contentment, the teachings of his mom, and then his descent into madness after "meeting this woman made him fall in love and who hurt him" because her hold on him is so powerful. The violins and his wailing in the end convey all the despair and insanity. Try to find the lyrics!
Juan Gabriel not only sang amazingly, but he also wrote his own songs to include this one, "Hasta Qué Te Conoci." He also wrote songs for other artists. He was a very prolific songwriter. The man did it all. Amazing Talent! Viva México!!! 👏👏👏

Oh I love that!! And thank you for the recommendation!!
I so regret not going to see him!! He was beautiful 😍 what a blessing he had!
Also, an upbeat song you need to listen is El Noah Noah.

Juan Gabriel, the best!!!! His music will live forever!!!!
He's amazing!
Amazing.

I saw him in Washington state the year before he died. 2015 the year so many legends left us. I cried at his concert. His music had been in the background and I had sang his songs as a child all the way to adulthood. Peruvians love Juan Gabriel.
A song I really like is “Ahora Te Puedes Marchar” by Luis Miguel.
