RISING COLORS - MARSEILLE FIREFIGHTERS : LEVER DES COULEURS - MARINS-POMPIERS DE MARSEILLE

Cette tradition a été instituée dès 1790 avec la fête de la Fédération qui rassemblait les Français et les Françaises autour de banquets citoyens. Le but était de célébrer la concorde et l’unité nationale retrouvée.
En 1880, le 14 juillet est devenue notre fête nationale et s’accompagne de défilés militaires, de feux d’artifices, de bals et de réjouissances populaires.
Depuis, partout en France et dans le monde, le 14 juillet, les Français et Françaises se retrouvent, avec leurs amis de toutes nationalités, pour célébrer ensemble {{l’éveil de la liberté}}.
A l'occasion de la Fête nationale Française, nous retrouvons l'esprit du 14 juillet avec le lever des couleurs au service des marins-pompiers de Marseille.

When we think of July 14th, we think of the storming of the Bastille, July 14th 1789, the Bastille day as it is called in some countries. For the French, July 14th is the occasion to gather and celebrate together.
This tradition was instituted in 1790 with the Fête de la Fédération, which brought together French men and women around citizen banquets. The goal was to celebrate the concord and the national unity found.
In 1880, July 14th became our national holiday and was accompanied by military parades, fireworks, balls and popular celebrations.
Since then, all over France and the world, on July 14th, French men and women gather with their friends of all nationalities to celebrate together the awakening of freedom.
On the occasion of the French National Day, we rediscover the spirit of July 14 with the raising of the colors at the service of the marine-firemen of Marseille.
