This is probably my favorite video of Conan I’ve ever seen. The scene of the little children decorating his hair, the end when they were fascinated by his light freckles skin and holding his hand. He is so gentle with them and so kind and accepting. The whole time they were playing on the school yard my heart was so full of love and admiration. His schtick may be being a confident, weird over the top guy at times, but this stuff shows us his true compassion and respect for others.
Conan GETS children. As other celebrities or politicians would just show up bringing stuff like toys or lecturing the kids, this man BECOMES a kid, joins them in their invitation to be innocent, not to pass judgement and most importantly, find JOY in life. Please leave aside your political siding and enjoy this video for what it is.
Trump didn't just ridicule american politics but his twitter virus spread in other countries as well. Ever since he started leading a country and foreign policy via twitter every nub scull politician from Europe to Asia would mimic his dum ways. I still remember that one time when he threatened another country, I think it might have been Afghanistan, with nuclear attack via twitter. We've been through 2 world wars, and then you have this president acting worse than a child playing at real war and real potential death online like its some game, and all in full view of society

Conan's interaction with the children was so genuine & he didn't care if he looked crazy. Pity the world's leaders & their spouses etc. didn't act accordingly. I read the thread before posting, but I only addressed your final statement. If you feel I need to address all your inaccurate statements, I will do so. First, it's very presumptuous of you to state the girl is, "6 years old and already brainwashed." Clearly, you are speaking from an outside perspective of a people you do not understand and make the claim that an intelligent young lady is "brainwashed" because she is spouting information she is learning in school or her family. Do you have children? I do. If one of them starts talking about what they learn in school, I do not immediately conclude they have been "brainwashed." I try to understand what they have learned and how they have learned it and, if necessary, guide them toward the more proper direction to better facilitate their knowledge. Second, by stating that "Ignoring the context accomplishes nothing too. Read the thread before posting" you have further invalidated your own argument. You rush to judge this girl because you do no understand her society, her culture, and her country's history. Perhaps you should understand "the context" of her statements before posting next time.

Please stay in touch with that little girl. She is going to go on to do great things! I wasn't that eloquent or conscious of world matters when I was her age.

@Steve Hanlon dumbass
I know, right ?
@mellamosean I'm not so sure about that. She appears to be around 7 (maybe 1st grade). As a former teacher, children at that age are very capable of reasoning and coming up with logical solutions to complex problems. You've heard the saying "out of the mouths of babes". I just hope people were listening.
@Steve Hanlon Hell, some hookers are more real than the phonies who think they run things.
That little girl in Haiti understands U.S foreign policy better than most Americans do. "No, no, no we don't want their "help", they'll come here and take our stuff". LOL

I think this is my favorite Conan episode ever. He show cased Haitian people as intelligent and ambitious and articulate and most of all human, despite their poverty and history full of struggle. They way he interacts with these children is beautiful. He doesn't condescend or make fun of them or belittle them the way so many adults do when interacting with kids on camera. The girl just summed up american foreign policy for the last 300 years - go to other lands "to help" and take their stuff.
That's the foreign policy of most colonialists period -- even the ones everyone still likes for some reason. America has only been going to other lands "to help" for the last 150-180 years or so. Not the last 300. Prior to that, it was the British Empire who led the charge, and the US didn't take up those similar machinations until the later half of the 19th century.
@Candace N What's your point? They've been doing in longer? I think it reflects poorly that America is STILL doing it, even after it's transparent to everyone, even kids.
