Guys, it was 1985, I was 17 and had the whole world at my feet. Take me back to the 80s, please...
The time is cruel with us, nothing to do unfortunaly, as much I'd love as well
1985 back to the future...............
I'm 55 and everything you said, I thought. Well done!
Yes I was 17 in 1985 too! WOW. Yes we had the world at our feet… Whether we knew it or not.
Get out there today and… we’ll just get out there today. Feel 1985 and 17 every day!

I've been listening to this song for years, why stop now, right? Feb 29,2024, leap 🐸 year.
I was single. The last in my family to get married. (of 6) I was almost 40. And not married. I looked in the mirror and asked "Am I that ugly?" One afternoon, I went to the living room and got on my knees and asked GOD for a wife. Today, with a stroke, my wife monitors my health and checks my blood pressure regularly. She makes arrangements for Internal Medicine Doctors and Regular Doctors. Without my wife, I wouldn't be here today. She was an answered Prayer. Patience is important.
Danny want to reply God sent you an angel accept it and live l have a chronic ailment and can die anyday fact is accept your angel😊
Did it actually happen or just propaganda?

I was born in the 50s. Loved the 70s and then came along the 80s. To bad we can't go back in time. We had the best music cars style. It was a awesome time to live thru it.
But we go back in time every time we remember...that's the beauty of having memories it's what they're for. Enjoy your time back in the 80's
I was born in the mid-70s and I think that the 80s and 90s were the best musical era!
It was, but I was born in 50's. Now I love Indie rock at 71. lol
I was born in the 40's and I bought Level 42 albums. Great band. I would also include Motown as some of the best music ever.
60s 70s 80s .The greatest decades of music. They each had its own identity which the 90s doesn't have nor any other decade until now. Cant speak for before 60s
Absolutely!
😊😊😊😊😊 yes absolutely
It's incredible, how much we have regress in talent and music. In my 20s then. I miss the 80s.
❤
So do I! I saw Level 42 open for Madonna at Soldier Field.
@@caterinialawrence4989 I'm soooo jealous! Did they steal the show??
@@erinwalter132 They were awesome! I miss those days!
The 70's called. They said the 80's sucked compared to them.
One of the coolest love songs ever written
Back when you can always find a good song on the radio. I love the '80s❤
What’s this radio you speak of?
I knowwww all music was literally good at that time any genre
Aren't we human after all? I'm an unashamed metal head and this song kicks my ass. I love it
Same here, I was 15 when this song came out, lol. But it was a song my mom & I could agree on. Which was huge back then. Although she liked Stairway To Heaven & Comfortably Numb...she really didn't care for the others I listened to. But this song, we both liked. 😍
That's cool. Music ...the equalizer. Cheers my friend.
Yep, music brings us all together. 🎶
Again

I've loved this song forever. I am 71
@@wwonka52I'm 61. I'm just a baby. Hahaha im a total metal head and I love this song. So many great mammaries.. memories with this song....
Thumbs up if you think Level 42 should be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
Yes yes and yes. I love level 42!
Definitely. Unfortunately that place is trash. So many great band that aren’t there.
Doesn't really matter. Their music will live forever. 🎼
👍💯
they are a jazz funk band so unlikely
42 is one of My FAVORITE Levels!!! LONG LIVE THE 80'S

Still Young at heart. But yeah,
Proudly 53 ❤
@Rayshofsunshine,....A beautiful 53!
Proudly 70 years old now. And I look really good at least that's what they tell me ha ha ha
I'll be 57 in 3 weeks and I'll never give up my rock-n-roll ( Boston, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, Sammy "The Red Rocker" Hagar...etc) But I do absolutely love this song right here @@terrielgarza6714

Man, this takes me back....
Level 42 was a great band, so many great tracks. Great music.
Bring back the memories 38 years ago. This song is still alive ❤
I remember I was 4, 5 years 🌹
I still jam this now. I'm 61. One of the coolest love songs ever written in my opinion.... we're only human after all....
Damm this song never gets old... Something about it!!!
Takes you back to better times 🫶✌️🌎genx 💪
The smooth voice of Mr Mark King.
Did not realize how much I missed it.
it's not only the base line that's killing it, but the lyrics are extremely thought provoking...one of many masterpieces, next to Purple Rain from the 80's
Just try to sing this, the overlapping vocal parts are brilliant
Cruising around the Ft. Hood, Texas area in my '81 Mazda Rx-7 in the early '80's was a special time. I thought the music and the good times would never end.
I know right...met my first real love of all, the flood of memories....I still jam the shit out of this.
Saw Level 42 open for Tina Turner at a concert at Boise State ohhhhhhhhh so many years ago. The BEST live music evening of my life!!!
Level 42… There is STILL something about you!!!😊
This song is on the playlist on a Greyhound Bus, in Mexico. It is still, till this day, popular. It is basically people in their 50' and 60's. In the bus, I see these senior citizens moving their hips inside the bus. Even if they don't know the language. I laugh so hard. It makes me happy because I'm here at almost 70 with a stroke, and Music brings people together.
Yup, us older folks appreciate this kind of music. 73yrs for me.😊
We can't help it. We had GREAT music.
GOD BLESS YOU..MESSAGE FROM 65 OLD
Just a great era 4 music, boxing , life ,etc bmx bikes , I could go on and on. Long live 80’s
You said bmx bikes hahaha cheers I'm still nursing injuries from that era
@@ChrisReinheimerThe childhood physical scars were so worth it. It's the dang adult emotional scars that I wish would fade away.
Oh yeah the bmx 😂 scrapes on my shins from those damn metal pedals when I was doing stunts! But I'd go back and do it again! Loved my bmx and the 80s
Thirty five dollar pair of headphones and music. I could sit here and reflect on my memories all day if it were possible.
Mine are $500 - Bose. They are sweet. Let my friend have a listen. He said they were worth every penny and is going to buy a pair himself.

Song : 37 years ! Fantastic
Thanks level 42 for all memories of the 80s I grew up in 80s best decade this song is ❤ ond of there best 👍🏼 I still play it today thanks ❤xx
I played this on a cassette driving around the city back in the day. It was on rotation. I even had it on vinyl. Great times!
I played this album while settling in my apartment in my grad school. My neighbor knocked and told me to turn it down. Ironically she remembered our first exchange and this song when we said goodbye. Good memories
Now this song!….this song is pure 80’s that’s for damn sure! I love this extended remix version!
The beat!..the funk!…the lyrics!…..the music!…all combined make it a classic from back in the day!
Definitely one of many classic hits from the 80’s that is one of my favorites!
I remember every time this song came on I would crank the volume and jam out!
If you never have done so I would strongly suggest to listen to this entire song..beginning to end…on a good stereo with loud speakers and crank it up and enjoy the experience!
After all these yrs this song 🎶 does something to me! 😍♥️♥️♥️🙏🏻🇺🇸
Base , Lyric and Melody Absolute Perfection 🎸🎸🎻🎺🎷🎤🎼🪘

I'm So Grateful To Remember Level 42 And So Much Incredible 80's Music... Best Time of my life...Great Wife , Great Life , Great Era...
always liked this song!!...from the opening riffs!!!....time sure flies!!
I know it's considered a hit, but this is still one of the most under-rated songs of the 80's. It was also rare to hear such a heavy bass line in 80's music. I love it.
underrated song from an underrated band.
Rock fan from the 1960's i clearly remember this on the radio back in day. Very cool song
LoL. I misread your comment at first. I thought it said rock fart,. And I thought well,. I'm a rock fart from the 50's. I'm gonna stay that way too.
No question the 80s was the best music! From rock to pop and rap. Timeless
We gotta keep this music alive.
Coke is it
Breathe life back into it
Beautiful Trax . Too be human after all...... Wow!
Mark King , . . . . The Epitome Of A Classy & Professional Bass Player - Singer . . . :-)
and gum chewer ,, c'mon .... haha ..
Mark
80’s the best decade ever for music. Hair metal, glam metal, just metal, rock n roll etc.
My favorite pop song of all time. It's just a great mix of synth-pop and soul, from that opening harmony, addictive bass riff, and Mike Lindup's amazing falsetto. The first chorus of the song hooked me the very first time I heard it at 5 years old when it was getting radio rotation: The way Mike sang the line "undefined illusion" was so smooth, it sent shivers up my spine.
It brings back the year , the month , the week , the day , the life ! ❤😂❤❤
Level 42:
Top Music.
This is One of those Musical Groups that You Must See Live to fully Understand their talent .
I swear if an advertiser interrupts this masterpiece, I will NEVER buy from your company.

Put FanDuel on the blacklist.😡
It is because is is an extended version
Remember hearing this song with my beautiful fiance while driving around our area. It has a little of everything. Beat, lyrics, vocals, and energy. What a classic! If I could choose a song that would describe music in the 80's, it would be this one. Thanks slot guys for this awesome tune, and I hope it never goes away.
One of my fav songs ever
This 🎶 makes my soul float✨️..... the smooth rhythm just soothes one to be free-flowing 🕺🏾💃🏽👯♀️❤.....that bassline brings this throughout 👌🏽
Building in...👌
Nicely said.
Fun fact: the band took its name from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where famously (and hilariously) the answer to the question "what is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?" (which took the supercomputer Deep Thought 7.5 million years to calculate) was, simply: 42
One of my best favourite back in 1985
My favorite song just got better WOW I love this. I listened to "Something About You" so much my cassette tape broke and my cassette deck broke. This song brings back some really good memories, Thank you Level 42 for coming together and forming your band and playing remarkably, your songs touch my heart and soul. I heard the song years ago but didn't know the name and the artists. Heard it last week on the radio being played as bumper music to Sid and Friends morning show on 77 WABC. Looked it up on UA-cam and have been playing it at least once a week. Such great uplifting music to get you in a good mood.
I grew up in the 80s, the golden age of music. This song really gets me rocking.
Brought a huge smile last time listened to this was ages ago love them
I know. I always wind up back here hahaha... this has so many good memories for me. Cheers
As good as this band is in the studio, they are even better live. Great singing and playing on everything. One of the best bands out there.
I saw them in a club in Vegas in 89. Me fresh off of back to back Aerosmith shows. This show was so cool maybe 500 people, a girl made me go. It was so fun.
How how can it be that a love
Carved out of caring fashioned by fate
Could suffer so hard
From the games played much too often
But making mistakes is a part
Of life's imperfections
Born of the years
Is it so wrong to be human after all
(Oh drawn into the stream)
(Of undefined illusion)
(Those diamond dreams)
(They can't disguise the truth)
That there is something about you
Baby so right
I wouldn't be without you
Baby tonight
If ever our love was concealed
No one can say that we didn't feel
A million things
And a perfect dream of life
Gone, fragile but free
We remain tender together
If not so in love, it's not so wrong
We're only human after all
(Oh these changing years)
(They add to your confusion)
(Oh and you need to hear the time)
(That told the truth)
Because there's something about you
(And now the way you are tonight)
Baby so right
I couldn't live without you
(I couldn't live without you)
Baby tonight!
(Here tonight)
Yeah
(Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
(Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
And now there's something about you
(Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
Yeah Yeah
And I couldn't live without you
(Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
To night
Try singing it! It's hard

I worked at the Soundwave 'Bassplace' in Romford back in the early 80's building the Trace Elliot range of amps/eq's/cabs that Mark King adopted for the band. You couldn't meet a nicer bloke. I'm always glad to hear their songs, even in 2024, they have a timeless quality about them.
I loved this song back in the day. Just two years ago I fell in love aged 68 with my soul mate. We played this at our wedding
