Considering that a 2023 E63 is 8 seconds 100-200, and a 2011 E63 is 10 seconds 100-200, This GT53 seems very slow for the money given that the base price is very similar to the E63.
Well it is a 5 cylinder that’s why there called 43 and not 53

The GT53 its more luxurious than the e63 that's why the price is very similar despite the performance of the car
Imagine spending over 100k for a Merc AMG but you got overtaken in the rolling race by a rice box like a Type R for 40 grand. Just eliminate these 43 and 53 AMG's for such a big car like the GT!
No, MB and AMG need to focus on this straight 6 instead of using that 4cyl for their "63's"....they should've put the same tech on this engine instead of that 4cyl, it's a lot less painful going from 8 to 6 than it is 8 to 4, if you understand why I'm saying it. At least it doesn't sound terrible like that M139 4cyl 😅

Sub 11 sec 1/4 mile times out the factory. The struggle is real.

This gt53 is considerably slower than the 63. It's only got half the power and half the performance. Interesting

Yeah Mercedes has not done an inline 6 cylinder engine in an AMG car for over 20 years. It’s nice to see them make one since they’ve only been using V6 engines in terms of 6 cylinder engines.

well this is a really really good i6 engine it's tough to argue now
Its a very nice car but for the money you expect much more. My old w211 e63 0-200 goes in 14.2s. This one does 14s 100-200. Performance is not everything but thats the reason why I want AMG.
theres a 1500km break-in period sticker on the top left, the dash shows 378. I specifically says not to floor it or go above 4000rpm. I dont think that rental car will last long.

Do I assume correctly that the top speed is adversely affected by that rear wing? It seems to struggle to reach 267kph even with that much power.
Yes, I managed to reach 293 kph without the aero pack.

this isn't supposed to compete with the S58. On a performance standpoint the S58 is way better but the M256 is more advanced in construction and efficiency
LOL my standard, 2004 E55 Wagon would absolutely destroy this on 100-200. And it's probably not any lighter at 2000 kg , has more drag and only 5 gears.

Ok so its as fast as i30N which cost around 35-40k. Got it.
In which metric? 0 to 60 on the n is 2 seconds slower. And on the dct model it's still 1 second slower. Base m3, 90k$, is 0 to 60 4.2 seconds almost like the gt53, but gt53 is a huge car with better interior and space for 120k

@blackwidow7804 hmmm on another video posted below it the gt53 clocked in at 11.88 secs for 100 to 200. It's advertised at 12.5.

E53 & CLS53 are easily 2 seconds quicker 100-200. The GT is too heavy on weight and price. Especially the GT43 is ridiculous, an A35 is quicker. If you want an AMG GT, it is V8 or nothing and I say that as an E53 coupe owner myself
The inline 6 is a masterpiece of an engine though, did this car run on 95 octane? Seems ridiculous it couldn't even hit 270
I have a A35 limo and it does 100-200kmh in 12,5-13s easily, but this GT 53 sounds great and you can make stage 1 and go into 500+hp. That is very tunable engine

I agree. Mine does even below 12 seconds as we discussed earlier. Im a bit disappointed on the quality though. My brakes needed replacing lately. There are only the original discs and pads from mercedes that are available for the car and they are far worse still than the ones the car came with, although the same item code. The brand new pads lasted a crappy 12k kilomerers on the new discs so I switched to EBC Yellowstuff pads and they are better but still not good enogh. Also the Hardy -plate (juboflex)needed replacing after 60k kilometers. Few say that the engine is not very good for tuning. Pretty weak and easily blown... Others say its good enough. Not much is known tuning wise imo. Mine is not even tuneable yet, only Br-performance are able to do it for now, which is very far away from where i live.

For a three quarters full AMG, the engine in this variant gets the job done pretty well. There's also a sprinkle of BMW B58 and Porsche Macan Turbo in the engine sound as well.
It's slow as hell, 100-200 on 14 secs.

To call that an AMG is a shame. My 16 year old Mercedes E500 with the M273 and RWD makes 0-200km/h in 17.2 sec and the quarter mile in 12.9 sec. 0-100km/h is done on dry 4.9 sec. So with all that turbocharged, AWD and 40 horsepower more, it ain’t that much faster than a old non AMG 😂

100-200 in 13 sec wtf my Tesla Model 3 is faster when it's at 50% charge. It costs 10 cents/km and 20.000 € less purchase price and has the same cheap plastic interior quality as the AMJoke.
