- A fanboy edit of Duran Duran's underrated second single. It never got the Night Version treatment like the the other early singles, which is a shame. I remember buying the 12" in Dublin in the mid 80's expecting a longer version, wasn't
wholly disappointed as the B-sides are brilliant. This version clocks in at nearly 7mins and is one for the hard core Durannies. This is my first real attempt at doing a (proper) video as well which was a lot harder than I thought, having no real clue about how to do videos I spent most of two days taking screen shots from the original video and effecting them in 'Gimp' (like photoshop) and then splicing the individual frames onto a time line over the music....the tracking gets a bit lost half way through due to my video ineptitude. enough excuses, its all about the edit! enjoy

I was astonished that 'Careless memories' was not a huge hit when first released. It has very catchy synth lines and pounds along. I tried to find the 'Night version' but Duran Duran did not release one themselves. Your version is so good - exciting and energetic and showing everything that it should have been at the time. There was the 50's Rock 'N' Roll ...then came the 60's ..as I understand it was a unique time for music and fashion (before my time - I was born in the 60's) then came the 70's with Glam, Disco and Punk all great stuff, but for anyone who experienced the reflection of New Romantic (in any country) it was a special moment .. this whole Album is perfect in every way...for me this track,"Sound Of Thunder" and "Planet Earth" stand out along with Visage "Fade To Grey"....amazing stuff ....

This is majestic!! As a lifelong Duran fan, I too was disappointed with the lack of a Night Version. I agree that the b-sides almost make up for the fact... Considering that you only had the standard version to work with, and not the seperate isolated tracks (I am assuming) you have created a mix that sounds official... Well done sir!!
I love Duran Duran hugh fan from a very early 80s this song Careless Memoriers wasn't such abig hit when it was first released but a hugh hit at their concerts its apity a great song like many of theres great talented band they dont get the recognition they deserve.
