“What Dreams may come” is the only actual serious role Robin Williams ever played, his character married his soulmate they had 2 kids, then one died to cancer and he and his remaining child died in a car accident after trying to help innocent bystanders, his wife commits suicide and he is helped by (His) 2 “Guardian Angels” (good twist ending there) on a trip to HELL to save the “Damned” soul of his wife and there’s alternate endings where they stay in heaven and also where they get a second chance to do life right through reincarnation and they eventually marry again in their next life. It’s insane, great special effects for the time, and I’d wager if you could wrap your mind around the “Sucker Punch” movie, then this will be a gold standard in your collection!

No, 'What Dreams May Come' isn't trash, it's actually an excellent movie, but it is the biggest, most depressing tearjerker you'll ever see.
